It had taken several days to create the gifts she would take to the neutral Clans, but she finally had a variety of items, most of them silver jewelry with crystals embedded in their design or lovingly crafted daggers and swords. The challenge was actually finding time to sleep, knowing that if she left the metal for too long, it would become brittle and shatter when put under pressure. She had to do each of the weapons straight through. By the time she got to the last piece, she was exhausted, but she was determined to finish well. This necklace was for her own use, after all, and she would wear it as an Embassy of the Anathema.

The chain had proven to be the most difficult part of the necklace to forge. Each link had to be created separately, starting as a thin strip of silver wire and then shaped, before she shined them. It had taken her many hours to do it, but she finally had enough links to make the backside of the necklace she had designed for herself. After all, if she intended to display the smithing skill of her Clan, it had to be something spectacular, right?

Experimenting with the forge and checking back with the books to ensure she had done everything right had resulted in a few ugly messes that she would have to melt back into bars for reuse later, but she had finally found a method for shaping steel and silver that would allow her to shape it into the kinds of intricate patterns she was looking for, and as she closed the final link of the back portion of the necklace, Braenix turned her attention to the two red crystals she had so carefully polished. These, she set into the central piece of the front of the necklace, carefully bending the metal with her super strength.

Finally, the pieces were all assembled. Now, all that remained was for her to put them all together and secure them in place. Lining up the two smaller silver pieces that she had twisted into a leaf-like pattern, she linked them into place with a couple of spare chain links. Now, the central piece, the connecting bottom piece with the second ruby, and the two border pieces of the necklace were secure. Gingerly testing the strength of the links, she hummed in satisfaction to realize that she had done her work well. The silver links were holding, even when she tugged on them.

Connecting the left end of the chain, she put the necklace around her neck and connected the right. It fit her snugly in the portion of her neck that flowed into her chest, a Gothic silver necklace with two red crystals as the centerpiece.

Sighing in relief, she put her tools away and crawled out of the forge, leaving the items for now. She had to sleep at this point, because she would be departing for the neutral Clans in the morning.
