Larkpaw didn't know where the twolegs were taking them, all she knew was that she was absolutely terrified. The young she cat made sure to keep Grimpast in her sight at all time, her mentor being the only thing keeping her from full fledged panic.

"G-Grim? What are they gonna do to us?" she asked softly, voice trembling as she pressed against the messing of the trap.

Grimpast swayed back and forth in his cage and struggled to maintain his footing. He didn't know what was going to happen and he torn over whether he should lie to ease her worries or simply offer the harsh truth.

His green eyes focused on her and he was about to speak but the twoleg reached his monster. A large white monster that carried the scent of other animals. The twoleg swung the doors open and placed the two cages inside. He then closed the door.

Grimpast glanced around himself and gasped as he spied other cages with animals in them. One had a fox, another had a rabbit, a smaller trap had a squirrel inside, and the final trap had a badger. "I think I we know why the forest was so quiet. The twolegs was taking everyone away." The warrior couldn't believe what he was seeing!

The monster growled to life and they were driven away.

Being close to predatory animals had poor Larkpaw even more on edge. She scittered to the far end of the cage and the side closest to Grimpast, glancing around cautiously.- "Why would they do that? Where are we going to end up going?" she asked, ears pricking only momentarily.

Grimpast pressed his head against the mesh of his cage and watched Larkpaw. Never in all his days had he foreseen such a horrible and hopeless situation to happen. How would he save them? They were trapped and heading to unknown territory.

The journey in the monster lasted a while but the beast soon fell silent and the doors swung open. The twoleg stood there, outlined against the harsh light outside. He grabbed Larkpaw's cage and then Grimpast's. He inside a twoleg den, a large one. It held a powerful stench of cleanliness. The chemicals harsh on the senses.

Relief at last! Even though it was a mild one at best. They were ushered out of the cages into a plastic den that had a soft carpet floor to it. All in all it was a small cubicle within a rescue centre.

When the monster came to a stop, Larkpaw just wanted to sink through the seat and floor and disappear completely. When the door swung open and her cage was lifted, every muscle in her body instantly tensed, the Apprentice thrown off balance. her fear was quelled slightly when Grimpast was also lifted, and the twoleg carried them into the structure.

Ugh, it smelled horrible in here! Larkpaw ducked her head, instantly pawing at her nose, eyes narrowed. It was entirely too bright and clean and foul smelling.

As soon as the cage was set down, the she cat was prepared to bolt, which is exactly what she did the moment the cage door opened. She streaked across the carpet almost resembling grass against her sore pads and huddled into the far corner, hissing at the twoleg.

Grimpast calmly stepped out his cage and approached Larkpaw. The door to their prison cell was shut and locked and the twoleg moved on. He swallowed nervously but hurried to the apprentice and aimed to smother her in frantic and comforting licks.

Every nerve screamed to stay part as one part of her wished to sprint to Grimpast, but luckily her mentor acted faster than she did. Larkpaw pressed against the tom, chirping softly at the comforting licks. She had mostly ceased her frantic shaking, soothed by the warmth of the other.

Larkpaw trembled behind Grimpast as the stranger spoke. She didn't want to leave with a two leg! Certainly not loose her claws either.

Larkpaw frowned, eyeing the empty dishes with disdain. Truth be told she was absolutely starving and her mouth was as dry as a desert. It was only a few moments later a brilliant idea popped into her head.

The Apprentice stood, moving to the front of the cage and standing up to press her front paws against the wiring, before letting out a caterwaul. She kept yowling and making an awful racket in hopes of attracting human attention.

Grimpast stumbled back and stared at Larkpaw, thinking that she had simply gone insane. Probably setting a record for the shortest descent into madness ever.

The noise of course attracted a human at last, a young female nurse. She spoke calmly to Larkpaw in an unknown language before moving away and returning with a pouch of cat food. She opened up the packet and the delightful scent caught even Grimpast's attention. It was then that she opened the cage.

Grimpast couldn't resist and snatched up a mouthful of food. Whilst that cage door was open he launched himself after Larkpaw.

The twoleg screamed in horror, stumbling backwards as the cats escaped. She was young and inexperienced so flat out panicked.

"Where to now?!" Grimpast cried out as he struggled to run on the smooth floor. What was this? Ice? It felt horrible!
