The storm was roaring loudly outside. The shadowy clouds covered the sky to where the moon and stars were impossible to see. The wind blew with frightening strength.
"This could be a bad omen..." Riverpelt murmered, as the dark tom watched from inside the warriors den. "Amberspots is having her kits... Starclan may be sending a sign..." He murmered.
A silver tabby narrowed her eyes and opened her mouth to speak, but a brown tabby-and-white tom spoke up first. His voice cold and challenging.
"I hope you're not implying that you believe my kits are cursed are you?" He growled harshly, his tap lashing. Outside thunder sounded.
"No, of course not Treeleaf... Not yet anyway." Riverpelt growled, fur ruffled. "It just seems a bit strange that of all nights for a storm as bad as this, it happens on the night your kits are born." He hissed.
"Storms happen. It is not an uncommon thing, and could merly be a cuincidence that the birth was tonight." The silver tabby spoke up, trying to ease the argument.
"Thank you Moonrunner. At least someone has some sene around here." Tree fall said, sending a glare towards Riverpelt.
Moonrunner pricked her ears and gave a slight nod. There was a murmed through the warriors den. No one, not even Riverpelt would dare argue with the clan deputy, and there was quite a few very good reasons.
Riverpelt narrowed his eyes. He glanced around quietly, hoping to see someone stand up and agree with him, but no one was brave enough to. He muttered under his breath and turned to glare at Moonrunner.
"I was merly commenting my thoughts. That's not against the code, is it?" He hissed, annoyed before turning away. More thunder. Could be heard from outside.
"Just keep them to yourself. Treeleaf's, would you like to go see Amberspots? I'm sure it would reassure her, seeing as the storm may be a bit frightening. Excpecially considering what she's going through right now." Moonrunner said, hoping to end it there.
Treeleaf's nodded quietly and the two cats padded out into the storm. The harsh wind blew at their pelts, and it was difficult to walk foreward. Finally, the two cats managed their way into the nursery.
"Treeleaf is here." Moonrunner announced, gasping for air a little. She shook some rainwater off her pelt.
Inside lay Amberspots and Rosefall, the medicen cat. Rosefall was busy licking a small, black kit, obviously a newborn. Amberspots lay gasping a bit as ankther small kit lay at her belly.
Rosefall turned to greet them. "Welcome, she just got done. Congradulations Treeleaf, you're a father to a tom and a she-kit." The ginger cat announced.
Treeleaf's eyes gleamed with pride as he went to greet his mate. Moonrunner glanced around te nursery. The other queens and kits had went to spends he might in the elders den, in order for Rosefall to work. She's heard it was being a difficult dilivery, but it seemed to work out well.
"Congr-" Moonrunner began before a Gray shape barged through the nursery entrance. Moonflower and the others turned quickly to see what is was.
"Rabbitfoot? What is it? What is that you are carrying?" Moonflower demanded. She was immediately on alert. He wouldn't barge in here for no reason.
Rabbitfoot sat down the thing he was carrying, gasping heavily. He looked very shaken, as though he'd seen a ghost. Moonrunner looked closer at what he'd just sat down and gasped heavily.
"A kit?! Why do you have a kit with you? Where did you get? What happened?!" Moonflower demanded, stepping closer. Her pelt was spiked up now. "Where is it's mother?" She growled.
"Moonrunner, let the young one speak before you start asking more questions..." Rosefall murmered gently.
The group of cats waited quietly for Rabbitfoot to speak. After was felt like an eternity, he did. "The snake... The snake stole him... I saved him... The snake is coming, the snake is coming, the snake is coming!" Rabbitfoot gasped, eyes wild.
"The snake? What in the name of starclan are you talking ab-?" Moonrunner growled but stopped when she finally noticed that Rabbitfoot was bleeding heavily. "Rosefall, he needs to be treated." She growled.
Rosefall nodded and quickly began leading him out of the nursery.
"Let's go, we need to get you fixed up. It's gonna be ok. Shhh... Just relax..." Her soothing voice traled on, while Rabbitfoot was still gasping out something about a snake.
Moonrunner watched as the dissapeared from sight, before looking down at the kit. It was a newborn. It was mewling loudly, and a huge roar of thunder sounded.

The sun was shining brightly in camp. The warriors were busy and the medicen cat was busy in her den. All was peaceful, until three small, dark shapes raced out of the nursery.
"Last one to the warriors den is a piece of mouse dung!" A dark gray tabby kit yelled, leading the way to the warriors den. He was followed by a black she-kit and lastly, a brown tabby kit. The Dark gray kit stopped once he got to the warriors den and turned to give his littermates a smug grin.
"Looks like I win again." He chuckled, tail held high. A few cats gave the kits an annoyed look, before continuing on with their duties. The brown tabby gave his littermate a harsh glare.
"That's not fair. You cheated!" He declared angrily, lashing his tail. "You had a head start!"
"Excuses, Excuses." The dark gray tabby kit laughed. He smirked again at his littermates. "Looks like I get to be clan leader this time. Again."
"But you always get to play clan leader! Let someone else have a turn Wolfkit!" The black she-kit hissed. The sun was radiating her black pelt, making it a bit hard for Wolfkit to look at her.
"Rules are rules Nightkit. And since you made a point to argue, Shadowkit gets to be Moonrunner." Wolfkit declared, giving his siblings a mocking look. The two kits sent him glares.
"Why do I always have to play the medicen cat?" Nightkit muttered.
"I don't want to be Moonrunner! Can't I at least be father?" Shadowkit asked.
"Fine. You can be Dad, and Nightkit can be Moonrunner." Wolfkit announced. He was a little relieved to see his siblings brighten up a bit. "Alright first we-" he was cut off as their mother marched out of the nursery.
"Are you three playing outside the warriors den again? How many times have I told you that that will annoy the warriors inside." Amberspots scolded. She lashed her tail annoyed and looked apolegeticly at the warriors that were still built doing warruor things.
Wolfkit rolled his eyes. He didn't care if he was annoying them. He just wants to have fun.
"The other kits are up. Go back to the nursery and play with them." Amberspots sighed. She sat down quietly and watched as her three kits padded back over to the nursery. Wolfkit could hear a few warriors sigh in relief. Annoyance spiked at his pelt.
"Lori's kits are no fun." He muttered to Shadowkit. "All they want to do is act like mothers to us. It's annoying." He growled. Shadowkit sighed and nodded his agreement, while Nightkit fixed them a glare.
Inside, Lori lay inside with her two kits, Shimmerkit and Fallenkit.
"Hi guys." Fallenkit said cheerfully, her dark brown tabby pelt fluffy as usual. She bounced up to greet them. Her sister, Shimmerkit, followed more slowly, her silver-and-white pelt darkened by the shade of the nursery. Lori watched them lazily.
Wolfkit noticed how empty the nursery look now that Ivystem and her kits were gone, and soon it would be even emptier.
"We're playing the clans. I'm Leafstar, Nightkit is Moonrunner and Shadowkit is Treeleaf." Wildkit said.
"Ooh, ooh, can I be Visionstar? You need and enemy!" Fallenkit asked cheerfully. Her enthusiasm showed almost everywhere in every situation.
"Sure." Wolfkit shrugged. He didn't care who she played.
"Then I will be a Deathclan warrior." Shimmerkit murmered.
The five kits padded outside quickly, to begin their game. Wolfkit was vaguely aware of someone watching them. He glanced around to see Rabbitfoot staring at them. His pelt spiked up a little as he turned his head away quickly, but then noticed another cat staring at him, but with something he couldn't quite describe in their eyes. Moonrunner was starring at him.
