[justify][font=georgia][color=black]Born in England to your run-of-the-mill rich couple, Amelia was a single child; given absolutely anything she wanted in life. She was her family's "little princess", and that was the way she liked it. But, like a stereotypical rich kid, she wanted more. In Buckinghamshire, notable for it's extensive wealth and high cost of living, Amelia was supposed to be a goody-two-shoes. Instead, she had always been sort of a rebel, if only just because she wasn't supposed to be; getting nannies fired and breaking things one after one. Before long, she realized she could essentially get away with anything. Her parents didn't care - they loved her, but having a child was the sort of thing they did because they had to, not because they wanted to, and having another kid was definitely off the table. So, instead of quitting, Amelia took that as a challenge to kick it up a notch.

Going to Pipers Corner school for girls, it was a bit hard to find something notably rebellious to go and do, but if Amelia was any trait in particular, it was determined. She began to spend more and more time with girls with "outside" connections, going to parties with boys and girls from other private schools and public schools. She smoked and drank, but those sort of things still weren't enough. It wasn't until she was 17 and had gotten her drivers license that she finally got some attention.

Coming from a party, Amelia had had one... uh, five too many drinks. She was stumbling and out of it, but in her confusion decided to drive her new car home, with a similarly drunk friend. She didn't even mean to do it, but moments after leaving the house- she crashed the car into a tree just a little ways away from where she started, and hurt her unbuckled friend badly. Tale as old as time- the police and ambulance came, filed the report, and took her to the station. Before long, her parents barged their way in, furious and worried. Amelia felt horribly guilty, jeopardizing the safety of others by getting behind the wheel, and while they were also stressed about her well-being, they were mainly concerned about the effect of the crash on their reputation. The friend was fine, though would have some difficulties walking for a long time- making the guilt on Amelia weigh down even further. Even so, it was ironic, really. The one time she didn't mean to get them mad was the one time they managed to pay some attention to her.

The attention was short-lived. After paying off the cops to not release the information, and using special connections and favors to get this off her record and out of the public eye- Mr. and Mrs. Beaumont shipped her off to a boarding school in London. Effectively giving up, Amelia spent time catching up on schoolwork that she'd disregarded throughout school, and discovered her intellect. She somehow actually liked learning new things, and with a new-found determination to become extremely successful in life, she decided that she'd make her parents regret not spending more time with her as a kid. Somehow counterproductive, but it worked.

Graduating from her boarding school, Amelia went to Cambridge University, majoring in International Relations and graduating top of her class. She, unfortunately, wasn't sought out by people from MI6, but instead, her parents donated money for her to be considered as a candidate, behind everyone's back. Nobody but the people involved knew. Even Amelia didn't discover the transaction until after she accepted, and had already begun to climb in ranks. She wasn't stupid, though, she knew if she told anyone about the dishonesty, her and her family would face grave punishments. So, she just went with it- and hasn't told a soul. She had gotten this far in the system without her parents help anyway- so didn't she deserve that one little push?

Despite this mentality, something today still doesn't sit right with her for cheating to get where she was. And even with her sitting at the top of the Secret Intelligence Service pyramid, something has always felt like it's been missing.

But hell is going to have to freeze over before she lets a little guilt take away how far she's gotten.
