    name origin | Most people know that a rainbow is created when the sunlight refracts light through water droplets, making a band of color which has been the subject of mythology for most of human history. But what happens when the sky is adorned by the moon instead? This phenomenon is known as a moonbow, also called a lunar rainbow or white rainbow. These rare sights often occur in environments too dark for the human eye to see, and thus it looks white. However, over time, each color of the spectrum is revealed, as shown in time lapse photography.


    Greywinter is the surname of her mother, as last names are passed down the matriarchal line in owl families. These names were originally the names of great owl matriarchs who named their favored offspring after themselves for several generations. The great owl known as Greywinter lived many generations ago, but led the Clutches of Restora when the owl kingdoms still existed.
