  • (Ok!)

Lilly followed her group a friends into a nearby shop. They were just at a huge party and decided to take a small break. Lilly welcomed the break, she wasn't much of a partier but it was still pretty fun. The group split off and went in different directions as they closed the door. Lilly wandered towards the lollipop section, her other friends going all over the place.

  • The sound of the cash register was slowly driving Jasper to insanity. He continued to bag things for each of the customers, wearing a fake smile. He wasn't exactly sure why the shop had so many people coming in, but the weather was increasingly annoying him. 'Thank you, have a nice day,' he would repeat over and over to each person. He wished for a break to get his mind off working in the heat.

  • "Come on Lilly!" her friend shouted out her from across the store. Lilly quickly grabbed a cherry lollipop and some bubblegum on the way over to her friend. She looked down at her friend's arms to see a decent amount of candy. "Sure you got enough?" she teased her friend as they walked to the cash register. Lilly was too busy looking down to notice the boy behind it.

  • 'Hi, will this be all?' Jasper had asked the new lot that had arrived at the cash register. He scanned each item quickly, and punched in a few keys into the key pad. 'If that is all, the total will be $4.89.' He stopped to give them a short smile, looking at each of them.

  • Lilly finally looked up to see a admittedly cute boy smiling at them. While she blanked out on what to say back her friend pulled out some cash. "You must be bored working here while everyone else parties," she smiled as she handed over the cash. Lilly noticed she was staring and quickly looked away, hoping the boy didn't notice.

  • Jasper caught a glimpse of a young, fair looking girl. He accepted the cash, and rung up the register, looking for the correct change to give them, They were out of nickels. He reached under the register and into a cabinet to pull out a packet of nickels to refill the compartment. 'It gets a little boring, but never dull. There's too many people to tend to today, although it would be nice to relax.' He printed out the receipt and handed it over with the remaining cash. 'Have a nice day,' he gave a slight bow, his printed apron sticking uncomfortably to his body.

  • Lilly's friend quickly put the extra change into her pocket and grabbed the bag. "Well, if you wanna have some fun you should head down to the house right down the road. There's a pretty awesome party going on, it's probably quieted down by now," she turned and began leaving the store. "Thanks, you have a nice day as well!" she quickly blurted out before dashing after her friend.

  • Jasper gave a simple nod, the beginnings of a smile showing on his lips. He checked his leather bound watch. 12:57 p.m. In a few minutes his shift would be ending, and he could possibly go home early. His mind drifted to what the girl had just mentioned, the party across the road. Jasper wasn't your average kid, let alone a party kid. Sighing, he tended to a few more customers, clocked out and left his apron near the register. Saying his goodbyes, he went outside and rolled his bike across the street, looking at the teenagers littering the front yard. He was met with menacing stares and the stench of something else.

  • Lilly laughed as she watched her friend, Eleanor, dance away with the few people left at the party. Lilly didn't dance very well so she usually kept her distance from the dance floor. She grabbed her drink and walked back over to the food table to refill her cup, waiting for Eleanor to get tired enough to stop dancing and come over and hang with her.

  • Jasper took agonizingly slow steps towards the front door leading to what seemed to be a mansion big enough. He would have guessed that nearly 60 kids were inside, partying away. He walked through the already open door, taking in the scene of teens around the pool table and others drinking from a red tinted cup. Awkwardly, he gazed around, hoping not to be caught in the spotlight or the eyes of the others. A grand staircase spiraled up leading to the upper story.

  • Eleanor turned and noticed the boy, she quickly made her way over to him. "Hey! Glad to see you made it! Follow me," she began leading the way over to where Lilly was. She could tell the boy wasn't used to big parties like this so she thought it'd be best to keep him somewhere less crowded. Plus she saw how Lilly looked at him, just a bestie helping out a bestie.

  • 'Yeah, there's a lotta people here...' His eyes widened as he nearly crashed into a girl stumbling through the room without so much as a regret. Furrowing his brows, he tentatively followed her, careful not to collide with any of the other people in the room.

  • She stopped as soon as she got to Lilly's side. "Look who made it," Lilly looked up and almost jumped in surprise, "You keep him company. I'm going back to dancing, i'll come find you later!" She laughed as she grabbed a nearby guy and dragged him to the dance floor. "I didn't think you'd come, you don't look like th party type of guy," Lilly looked up at him.

  • 'Well you guessed right, but I really had nothing better planned for today.' Jasper stuffed his hands into his pockets and gave off an imposing expression. 'Is this your house?' He asked her, looking around at the interior before giving her a quizzical look.

  • "Not really, this is my family's summer house. Since we rarely use it my dad always me to do what I want here, but I don't throw parties very often. This party was Eleanor's idea, she's a party freak," she smiled. She actually hated parties but would do anything for Eleanor.

  • 'Interesting. The interior is really nice.' He gave a disdainful sniff and took his hands out of his pockets. ' I never caught your name. I'm Jasper, it's nice to meet you.' He stuck out a hand formally.
