  • "Why of course, Young Master. You seem to be underestimating me." He had a tint of amusement to his tone but something darker. "Whatever it is he is planning, they won't succeed."

Around the same time this conversation was going, Felicity just returned to the Brandywine estate, entering through the door with a satisfied huff. At least that had gone semi peacefully, minus Sebastian almost ripping off her head when she refused to hurry up her pace when leaving. Ah, well. Is opinion didn't matter, she had gone through with her Master's orders.

  • Marl looked up and smiled at Felicity as she entered the house. He was seated at the dining table, sipping some rather mediocre tea Charles had prepared. "So, how did the honourable Earl Phantomhive react?" he inquired casually. "Did he accept my invitation?"

  • "Indeed he did, Master." Felicity replied, walking in and putting on a apron as she was going to prepare pastries. "He'll meet us at the hill in three days time, though I am admittedly wary of the Butler, he has taken a disliking towards me, so I don't expect him to have a pleasant behavior when we meet."

  • "I don't care how you get along with him. I only need to know one thing; can you beat him?" He stared at Felicity intently, waiting for her to respond. A lot rode on her answer.

  • Felicity stared hardly back, not speaking for a moment. Sebastian was strong, one of the best well known demons, of course, she knew him by a different name then the one given to him by the boy, yet again she was no weakling newbie. "If my motivation is there, say if he puts your life in danger, then yes." She replied, eventually, in a careful tone.

  • Marl nodded. "Okay. That's all I need to know." He stood up. "And, one more thing. I have a plan in case things go wrong..."

Three days later, Marl awaited on top of the hill, dressed in his best brown suit and top hat and leaning casually against the tree that stood over Julianna's resting place. Micheal was positioned on a hill farther away with a long range rifle, and Marl's little surprise was buried in the ground...though he hoped he wouldn;t have to desecrate Julianna's grave with its use.

  • Felicity folded her arms, tipping the hat she was wearing to keep the sun out of her eyes. "Lord Phantomhive certainly doesn't have a reputation for being on time." She muttered grumpily to herself, pacing around. One thing she hated was tardiness, she would've thought Sebastian disliked it even more, yet again this was no official affair, therefor they could be making a point by arriving a little late.

Eventually a carriage made it's way down the road, Sebastian was sitting across from Ciel with a calm expression. "Let's hope this runs along smoothly, My Lord." He smiled lightly.

  • "Indeed," Ciel replied. "Be ready to act at a moment's notice. Brandywine may not go quietly, and his demon may be more powerful than we imagine." Then he stepped out into the crisp mid morning air. He stood at the bottom of the low hill, and Marl stood at the top.

A long moment of silence followed, with the gentle breeze being the only source of movement. "Lord Phantomhive!" Marl said at last, bowing mockingly. "A pleasure to at last make your acquaintance." Ciel looked up at the figure, who's appearance was cleverly obscured by the sun at his back. "The same to you," the earl replied.
May we come up?" Marl grinned. "Please, by all means, do so." The green haired boy slowly walked up the hill as Marl moved to crouch beside Julianna's grave, which was marked by a simple headstone with no words, only the date of Julianna's birth and of her death.

  • Sebastian moved to follow Ciel up the hill, his eyes narrowing upon spotting Marl crouching by the gravestone, interesting... Very interesting indeed. While the Butler simply smirked, he did no more than stand dutifully behind his Master. ''We do have a schedual, so we need to make this quick.'' At those words, Felicity took a angered step foreward. ''We also do, so don't act so superior.'' She snapped.

  • "Please, please," Marl said, still gazing at the gravestone. "No fighting up here." He looked up at Ciel. "You were looking for Julianna. Well, she's right here." He looked down again, ashamed. "I wished to strike back at my enemies, so I killed her. I only realized afterwards that I might as well have torn out my own heart." Ciel remained unsympathetic. "A murderer who regrets his crime is no less guilty. But tell me, why would your...enemies care for your cousin?" Marl chuckled. "You don't get it, do you? My enemy, the man who tried to kill me and who stole my company...is none other than Lord Straff Brandywine."

  • Sebastian blinked, his head tilted the slightest bit, a piece of the longer black hair fell partly into his line of sight. He didn't say anything, but gave a fake look of interest. So it's certain he wants to kill the Queen's acquaintance, hm? This shall be interesting. Felicity didn't like the look in his eye, the way it seemed to leer down upon her and her master, as if he knew something she didn't. Meeting the wretched demons gaze firmly, she stepped closer to Marl as if to prove a point. Sebastian merely shrugged and looked away as if it wasn't worth his time.

  • "Regardless of what happened between you two, you are wanted for murder," Ciel replied icily. "It is my duty as a servant of the queen to take you in and ensure that no more crimes are committed." Marl smirked and stood up straight. "Very well, then. You've got me." He raised his hands above his head...and gave the hand signal Charles had been told to wait for. He was now free to fire on the Phantomhive brat.

  • Obligingly, Charles immediatly aimed and shot. Of course, his aim was perfect, curtesey to his years of training. It would've been quite a clean kill if Sebastian hadn't lunged foreward and scooped the boy upwards in a smooth motion, carrying Ciel in the usual manner, one hand on his upper back, other beneath his knees. He smirked, "My, what a shocking betrayel." He sneered.

  • Marl pulled out a small pistol, though he knew it would be useless against Sebastian. "Felicity. Kill them," he commanded, firing on the butler with perfect aim.

  • "As you wish, My Lord." Felicity hummed, taking off her hat, and gloves throwing them to the side calmly. Sebastian merely gripped onto Ciel a tad tighter and stared at the other challengingly. "So you leave me no choice but to be on offense, not very gentlemanly." The maid sneered, lunging foreward. What would've been an easy dodge was now more challenging due to having the human in his arms, Sebastian frowned as a fist nearly hit him, perhaps she was overly confident, perhaps she wanted to get this over with. Either way, the other demon had jumped into this fight quickly enough.

  • Marl stood back and watched as he leaned against the tree, his arms crossed and a light frown on his face. He hoped the battle would end quickly, before they attracted too much attention. He wouldn't lose much sleep when the Phantomhive Earl was in ell alongside his butler.

  • After enough dodging, Sebastian managed to kick his foot out, tripping Felicity in amazing speed. Though, speed was a trait among their kind, so she managed to reach out a grab his foot, pulling him down to the ground with her. Sebastian had to curl his upper body over top of Ciel to protect the boy from the ground, this really was an inconvenience. Felicity got up and managed to grab ahold of his hair, it would've been easy to rip his head off if it hadn't been for one fact. Sebastian pulled a knife out of his pocket and threw it at Marl. Of course, he'd just make the scores even by threatening the life of her Master too. The Maid had no choice but to shoot forward and grab Marl, pulling him to the ground and narrowly missing the knife. Sebastian was smart... More so than she thought.

  • Marl gasped as the breath was knocked out of him by the fall. "Sebastian, get us out of here!" Ciel commanded. He knew that his butler would be disadvantaged, what with having to protect him, fight Felicity, and dodge Charles' bullets all at once. "We can finish this later."

  • Sebastian ground his teeth together in an angry manner, he hated abandoning a fight. He needed to win, it was a instinct. Perhaps if he hadn't been like collared dog with the contract, he would've violently torn her limbs apart, but he had no choice but to oblige. "Of course, My Lord." The Butler whispered, straightening up and glaring at the two opponents before turning and leaving in fast, almost floating steps.

  • "Don't chase them!" Marl commanded immediately. "We'll find some other way to get them later." He stood up, brushing off his coat. He made the hand signal for Charles to abandon his position and head over to them. "So, what do you think?" he asked Felicity. "Would you have beaten him?"
