    From the very beginning, starting with her birth, it was shown she was capable of more than living a normal human life and was to grow up as a strong and intelligent woman. She was mainly known as the daughter of Tim Burton, the great film director, however she made sure she left her mark in the world and made herself different from her father, her fierce and sarcastic self being shown more than once with her amazing comebacks and her constant feeling of having her privacy invaded. Her intelligence is exceptional for the normal human world, however her ability to think on her feet quickly and be initiative and resourceful proves her to be a great huntress and even potential police officer if she wanted to. Her version of intelligence is always tested when she is put to the test while hunting or protecting her friends, or even the time she was temporarily held captive for money.


    She is seen as a girl who loves to socialize, but not much with the guys, usually avoiding them to prevent any conflicts that could arise. If she goes socialize with guys, she usually attempts to be herself while at the same time be on guard, as her fear of failing Artemis is what usually follows her around no matter what. To the guys she forms friendships with her and her hunting sisters, she is shown to be outgoing and understanding of situations around her. This leads to her showing a slightly kinder version of her, her sarcastic comments and slightly rude advice tone down slightly and she tries her best to make the best out of everything, being optimistic.


    She does have her flaws of commonly saying rude and sarcastic comments, at times showing disrespect to her elders other than Artemis, and being loud and outspoken. She is quick to speak her mind, often offending people around her, along with being prideful of her looks, believing she could get out of any situation with her pretty looks and a bit of flirting here and there. And with her trust issues, relationships and guys have always been something she would try not to think about. [/size]

    Vanessa grew up with her father by her side, her mother dying when she was only two years old. Since she was partially a nymph, her father has always surrounded her in an area of forest, trying to keep her nymphs roots in place like her mother wanted. However, Vanessa wanted more than by a lover of nature, and she knew she wasn’t meant for it, like her father. She grew up with her two younger siblings Edward and Nell, who were the children of an actress named Helena. Since the first boy, Edward was born, her perspective of love changed due to her belief of everlasting love. She grew up to be educated in private schools and having her archery and gymnastic classes after school. Eventually, her father decided that if she wanted to be different and at the same time be somehow connected her mother, he would take her to Camp Half-Blood where she became a Hunter of Artemis and lived there for the following two years, attending school and waiting to graduate so she can concentrate on her semi-new life with Artemis and her sisters.
