    ooc. 100th post!

Arianna hesitated for a moment, eyeing the proffered shoulder. She didn't really want to take it - nothing against Terra, but she didn't want to be seen as weak. But at the same time, she was wounded. With a soft sigh, she leaned on the shoulder, allowing Terra to hold some of her massive weight. For a normal wolf, this would be impossible, but for a wolf with a mutation that made them as big as a dire wolf - or a dire wolf in general - this was rather easy.

She nodded wearily to his words, reaching up to lick the side of one of those flattened ears. Reaching up because - despite her size - she was still smaller than the damn black wolf, and she was bigger than every other normal sized wolf. Damnit. She glanced at him, trying to meet his eyes, except... well, he refused to do so. She blinked and shrugged mentally, noting it was peculiar but not really willing to do anything about it. It did make her wonder, though. "I won't be an inconvenience," she promised softly, voice completely not accusatory as one would expect. Normally, a comment like this was delivered with a biting tone; not this time. This time, it was completely and ridiculously sincere.

Terra offered a dry laugh, leading the way back to camp. He murmured as he walked, glancing towards Arianna with what might have been a smile if it hadn't been accompanied by such sad eyes.
"You couldn't be if you tried."

At some point, he (and hopefully Arianna) reached the camp, and then Terra's den. It was big enough for a few wolves, especially since his mate and later his children had lived with him. The den itself was rather plain, a barely used bed next to a stock of herbs- sleep aids and painkillers mostly.
Gesturing to the bed (because were they really called nests if they were wolves?) Terra mumbled.
    [b]"Here."

Arianna's ears flattened, and she gave Terra a strange look. Why...? Her face furrowed a bit, looking a bit confused and worried even after the male turned away following his cryptic comment. What just changed? What did he mean 'couldn't be if you tried'? Of course she could be - and there were plenty of times she had been. Maybe not to him, yet, but...

When they started to get closer to camp, she grunted and pushed away from the alpha, wobbling for a couple of seconds before catching herself and following Terra. Was it necessary she did that? Well, no. It would have been less painful if she hadn't pushed herself away to walk besides the alpha. For once, though, she thought ahead - and what members would mutter as is with her heading into Terra's den. She felt inclined not to, but at the same time... she wanted to. It was weird.

She wanted to stay with Terra, but she didn't because of pride. She needed the herbs, but didn't like what people may say as is - people were already muttering about them appearing too familiar. Irregardless, they already reached the den, so she wriggled into it. She glanced at the bed Terra gestured at, hesitating... and then she slid down on the mat of grass and moss that made it up. She looked up at the with oddly vulnerable eyes, her flickering ears betraying her nervousness... and her unease. And all the while, what happened and Terra's strange comment played over and over in her head.

Terra sifted through some herbs, eventually finding a chunk of willow bark, and passing it to the... nervous Arianna? Why was she upset? Was it something he had done, something he said. His ears fell flat again, and in a move of submission, he laid himself onto his belly and inched forwards, nosing the bark towards the dire wolf.
    "Are you alright?"

He felt the need to check again, in case something had gone wrong on the way here.

Arianna blinked at the bark. "Do I just eat it?" It looked like wood, which she wasn't entirely certain she wanted to eat. Plus, this was the first time she had dealt with herbs; she had never been wounded enough to ever need them before. Even now, she felt a certain reluctance. However, if it made Terra feel better... she'd do it.

That quite contemplation of the wood and her thoughts - a thing that lasted only a few seconds - snapped abruptly into shock as Terra inched the bark towards her. She had asked her question earlier when he first grabbed it; now, she stared between the bark laying between her paws and Terra. Her own ears flattened and she whined, inching forward herself and nosing the alpha, confusion and worry of her own in her gaze. What? Why was he acting like this. Her ears fluttered for a moment before flattening once more, head tilting in silent inquiry followed by another nudge... and no answer to Terra's question.

"You can chew on it a little."
Terra muttered, still very serious-looking. His own gaze remained stoic and he huffed as he nosed and nudged. Eventually, the Alpha lifted his head and shook it to get his thoughts straight before speaking once more in teh same, low and careful tone.
"You don't have to stay if you don't want to- I don't want to force you into anything."

His head was on the ground again, something like puppy dog eyes in his expression.
"...just wanted t'make sure you were okay."
He murmured, shuffling his paws like a Scout caught dunking a packmate.
