Naturally, Terra didn't really question the words, the actions. He saw and he was happy with what he saw in return. The wolf decided to answer as well as he could, despite not quite understanding himself.
"I dunno- I'm happy, I guess."

The way he said it was strangely childish even through his low voice.

As Terra didn't question her, she didn't question him. Instead, lips pulled back in a wolf grin, tail wagging. TThose words made her very glad indeed, as if the joy was infectious. "Good," she said quite simply. With the burn in her legs, soaking wet, romping around with Terra.. well, she could understand and she agreed.

Even though he wasn't very good at conversation, or asking about others, he figured he could give it a shot. Lowering himself into the water up to his shoulders, the Alpha hesitated, his difficulties in social interaction rather clear at this point.
[b]"Is there anything else you wish you could do here?"

• [fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 350px]
With Terra moving to stand, she figured it was alright for her to do the same; she paddled slowly towards the shore, stopping when her shoulders emerged. Her head tilted in thought, a slight smile on her face. Ears flicking, she glanced back at the alpha. "Not that I can think of," she replied softly.

• [fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 400px; ]
Huh, he'd have to come up with something on his own. With the grin still plastered on his face, the Alpha tried to butt his head gently into Arianna's shoulder, hunching his neck a little to do so. It was a movement of endearment, and he didn't think much about it, since whenever he looked into his actions, they frightened him a little.
[b]"I'll come up with something. We should probably head out, it still isn't safe."

• [fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 350px]
At the gentle nose-bump, she dipped her head down to attempt to lick his muzzle. She nodded to his words, although her smile took on a wistful edge. "Sadly," she murmured. "This place, right here, it is beautiful. Unlike the rest of the caves... it's... just not evil. I'm glad I've seen it." She flicked another glance at Terra, ears flicking back in faint embarassment with what she just said; she generally... was not quite that mushy.

• [fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 400px; ]
He let his ears fall back, for some reason bashful at the interaction. Which was ridiculous- he was a huge wolf without any reason to be nervous or shy, and to be socially awkward was dumb but yet... those thoughts were a little angry, a little forced. Swallowing suddenly, he pressed forwards to lead the way out, again setting a pace that restricted speech.
Whoops, it seemed Terra was a little... frightened?

• [fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 350px]
Arianna tilted her head in confusion at the abrupt way Terra swallowed and left. Her ears flicked back, frowning as she followed, pausing to shake the water off. Then, she broke into a trot to catch up to the... angry? wolf. She wasn't quite sure; she was utterly confused, and quite bluntly, it worried her. "Terra..." her voice was hesitant, eyes dark with said hesitation. "Did I say something wrong?" Oh, she sounded like a little kid - fearful of having done something wrong.

"speech" thoughts[/fancypost]

• [fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 400px; ]
"What? No, no."

The Alpha slowed as he exited Death's Door, a little panicked that he had been coming off that way. Warring emotions left no room for clarity in his mind, and being confronted about it didn't help in the slightest.
"It's not- I mean-... I like spending time with you."

Ugh, he was an idiot and definitely dumb and overthinking everything and their cat.

• [fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 350px]
Wait... what? That was why he was so tense? Arianna felt herself grin, and then laughter came from her along with a head shake. It wasn't mocking... although it was definitely amused by what Terra had said. The laughter tapered off, but she was still grinning like an idiot - unsure as to why, but also uncaring as to why. "Well, then I guess it's a good thing I like spending time with you." She sped up slightly, trying to bump her shoulder into his. At the current moment, she was doing everything but overthinking - the time spent in the caves had relaxed her, and made her the same carefree spirit she had been before all the shit happened in Westeros.

It was refreshing, this.

• [fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 400px; ]

Agh, that hadn't been what he meant, but okay. Terra rolled his eyes, and tried to not to panic further. He figured he might as well leave it as it was. Arianna meant something to him at this point, so no use in analyzing things until they were ruined. No, he didn't want to mess this up.
"...Alright."
He grumbled in the usual gruff tone, tail waving behind him.

• [fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 350px]
Arianna wrinkled her nose at him at the eye roll, tail waving. She snorted at the gruff... well, word, but it might as well have been a grunt. Had the same meaning, at least. She yawned slightly; now that the adventure was over, the female was exhausted - they had spent... how long in there? An hour? Two? A lot later than she was normally up, especially since she had actually dozed off and had been about to actually fall asleep. "Sleep soon," she commented with another yawn.

"I'll walk you back."
Terra offered, because what a gentleman horribly awkward individual. Whatever, his intentions were good, and it was late. He didn't even notice the night anymore, he was more or less tired all of the time, and this whole outing had him rather up and joyous. He hadn't even noticed that it was late.
Of coruse, that was when he yawned, sheepishly pinning his ears back.

• [fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 350px]
"Thank you," she responded with a slight smile. She chuckled lightly at the yawn. "Tired too, hmm? We'd best hurry then." It was a teasing remark, but not one that was meant to actually hurt. Of course, this was really just Kea at a loss for what to say.

ooc. new "thread" ?

In response, Terra huffed, though amusement glittered in his dark gaze. The Alpha made to head back, a grin teasing his maw.

/sure, can you start?

ooc. this would take place maybe a day or two after Ace came and told Ari of her father's death. I'll be posting in the actual thread Ari basically saying she's fine and walking away. wooo sad, confused Ari.

She'd finally had identified that emotion that was within her. Well, emotions. It was a mix of grief, guilt, sorrow and confusion. How did she identify this? Her thoughts. She was torn between feeling guilty... and not guilty. On one hand, she blamed herself for his death - at the same time, another part of her mind argued that he hadn't even said a word when she left, only stared at her and walked away. One part of her berated her for not opening up, but another part smoldered with rage at Laine for not being the father he should in the first place.

And that whole internal argument spawned confusion of what to think, what to do. It was why she acted so... stonily towards Ace. Why she had turned Terra away when he was worried. It was why she was standing at the edge of the rapids, the spray soaking her fur. Was she going to jump in, and do what her father did? No. But she felt the rapids accurately represented the turmoil within her own mind, and so she ended up hear, watching the foaming water crash against the rocks that made it so deadly.

A part of her wished she could flow like that, back to a place of serenity and peace.

"Arianna?"

There was so much wrong. It seemed the joy built up around them had come crumbling down around them and there was so much concern in his gaze, the need to do something itching in his bones. He didn't know what to do, what to say, but he stood a few metres away, eyes flicking from Arianna to the rapids. He didn't want to assume, but there was a rather peculiarity about how close she was to the deadly rapids.

Some panic was evident in the dark gaze of the Alpha, face drawn into a clear expression of hurt and worry and 'please don't'.

• [fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 350px]
"Terra."

The sound of her name being called made her ears flick backwards, though even as she responded she did not turn around. She kept her eyes on the rapids. Stilll, it seemed as if the worry radiated off him. She glanced back, finally, yellow eyes meeting the dark gaze. She cringed inwardly at the look, and that cringe appeared somewhat as a quick narrowing of the eyes and a slight wrinkle on her nose. She shook her head at him, hating to see that look. "I won't. No matter what happens, I won't." This time, her voice didn't have the strong and emotionless tone it held before. This time, it was a whisper, holding all her emotions: the sorrow, the confusion, the grief. All of it.

A glance to the sky was Terra's thanks, his attempt at not doing anything stupid. The dark wolf moved carefully and slowly, eyes still creased in worry as he crept towards Arianna. His expression remained the same, relaxing only slightly at her reassurance that she wouldn't... do what he had though she would do. The thought of it scared him.
He could remember Dahlia, swinging like a sick doll attached to that rope and the thought of seeing Arianna in a similar position made his gut wrench in pain.

"Who was he?"
Rasped the wolf, unable to tear his gaze from the other.
