the sun rising announced a new day. for once in this dreadful winter, warmth spread over the forested landscape. remnants of ice and snow began to melt, though, it wouldn't be long before more was on the way. it was supposed to be spring. it was supposed to be warm and full of life and joy. but instead, cold temperatures froze the earth and tested it's limits. times were hard, and the icy cold of winter made it no better.
the light of day would show a simple creature stepping out into the temporary warmth, a content sigh escaping it's mouth to echo in the forest air. the smell of pine needles and firewood clung to its fur like the ice on the rocks and leaves.
it was a simple creature, really. with it's mouse brown coat and large eyes. but with simplicity came the natural beauty of youth. the creature was a domesticated feline, with a smaller build then most her age. though, its legs were long and lanky, built for more agile purposes.
it was a she. a she cat with the most untouched, natural pelt ever known. with mouse browns, caramels, chocolates, and creams. with the most symmetrical dapples and autumn hues.
through her body ran different mixtures of browns and creams, all mixing together to form the most delicate of paintings. at the legs and tail came the darker ambers, coppers, and reds. the tail tip of the feline was a more rusted ashen color, that looked oddly pixely to the touch.
her face however, was small and child-like. her cheekbones were well structured, and her ebony lips were ever so parted as she breathed in the slightly-chilled morning air.
grey mingled with a dark charcoal on the left side of her face, creating a marbled tabby pattern that was faint, yet distinct. but on the right lay an untouched golden color, pure of markings.
though, none of this compared to the striking color of her eyes.
they were not hell fires like you would expect from a more molten color. they were warmer and more of a soft dark chocolate tone. a pumpkin, if you must. they had all the love and gentleness in the world, and simply one glance could melt all of Antartica.
with this simplistic beauty, came the natural grace and elegance of a house cat.
her paws were small and dainty, and she had all the curves a cat should have. as she walked, only the quietest crackle of dead leaves could be heard. she followed the river by instinct, wondering where it would take her.
it just so happened it lead her to a grand castle with a beach and garden, as beautiful as she herself was.
the crash of waves and song of birds made her lightly skip off into the general direction of the beach, and oddly not the castle. a stench hit her nose and she stopped, wondering for a moment.
was this the clan that bordered riverclan? oh, she hoped so. the dilute calico didn't exactly enjoy the clan by the river that had recently had executions and many battles. no, she craved love and warmth.
the feline decided to neatly seat herself near the border, awaiting the arrival of someone.
