"thank you," eli commented happily, a small smile appearing on her lips. she was proud of herself, but she obviously wasn't one to go around exclaiming all of her results. she paused at his question, and switched her gaze to her glass of water for a moment. "no, not really. i have to pay for a lot to keep bev on his top level, and that doesn't really leave a whole lot of room for money for me." she shrugged softly, not sure what else to tell him. "i've definitely spent a lot of nights in my car because of being tight on money."
luke smiled as he felt shiloh relax, knowing that his job was done for the night. he had already set his alarm, and instead just took a few minutes for himself to relax and recollect his thoughts. he gently traced her side with his index finger as he thought, eventually sighing and just taking it a step further and closing his eyes. he soon fell asleep, not wanting to think about the fact that he would be up in about five hours.

John did think about it for a second, he couldn't relate but her hardships he figured were the reason she was a tough woman. "You do get to do what you love though, and I'm figuring it's all worth it..?" He wondered taking another sip from his drink. Her possible answer was the waitress requesting their orders. The menu was pretty vast and exquisite but John ordered like it was no big deal and handed her his menu with a quick thank you and a charming smile before redirecting all his attention to Eli.
----maybe put them on hold for a bit? finish this date and then it can be morning?---
-
eli ended up ordering a small plate of food before answering him, handing over her menu as she spoke up again. "definitely, bev's my number one. and i love riding, so it ends up being okay in the long run." she smiled over at him, taking a small sip of her water. "enough about me though, i'm not that interesting. are you working on anything for anyone right now?" she tilted her head to the side minutely as she focused on him, just curious.
fine by me :-)
-
John followed her story, loving how passionate she was about riding. When the question was shot he cleared his throat, "I'm still doing a lot with Shiloh, the girl is so much fun to work with and such a great writer, so I'll be her cheerleader and right hand-writer until the day she retires." He claimed. "But I've been doing a lot of work on my own, songwriting with Shiloh is different, than my actual job, where I write songs and shoot them to various artists. My song was just accepted to be Justin Timberlake's next single, and I did a couple songs that made an album for an artist that I cannot announce quite yet." He said with a teasing wink.
-
"you would be pretty cute in a cheerleader uniform," eli stated with a giggle, her thoughts going back to her high school days as a cheerleader for a second. she then focused back on the conversation as he brought up some other things he was working on, a sigh coming from her as he refused to reveal the artist. "you can't just bring something like that up and then not expect me to try to get it out of you." she stated seriously, her curiosity blooming.
-
John bit his lip and leaned forward with the 'huge' secret, "Okay... I'm guessing you know (crazy name drop of a celebrity I don't know)" He sat back again with that clever smirk, knowing it was a big deal, it was one of the biggest step in his career. He didn't mean to brag but was very pleased with himself, and she had asked. He took another sip from his drink. "He heard the recordings I did of about four songs and claimed them immediately, he's a great guy."
-
"you're totally kidding, right?" eli asked in shock, not even able to comprehend that he had managed to pull such a job. "that's incredible, john." she smiled widely at him, showing how proud she was. "i'm really glad that things are working out for you." she smiled at him once again before glancing back at the dropping sunset, her eyes tracing over the bright colors, though she did notice that the orange practically matched her hair.
-
"Thanks Eli," He beamed, "but keep it on the down-low, okay?" John chuckled seeing the setting sun, shining off the crystal glassware. Her red hair was shining against it as well making her eyes shine like stars, he had scored a pretty hot date. "How's Luke? I haven't seen him since Shiloh's release party." He questioned, not a fan of talking about himself.
-
"he's was doing really good when i talked to him last. he's about to start his clinics all around the world, and right now he should be with shiloh, after her show." she smiled over at him, casually relaxing for the moment. "he's at a good place right now, yeah." she thought about luke for a moment, glad that he was finally happy. she knew that she had definitely thrown his and shiloh's relationship under the rocks, but she was relieved that they finally settled everything out.
-
John nodded, the pair was obviously his OTP. He had seen it all firsthand, since songwriting was such an intense, connective process, and Shiloh had written and spoken so passionately about her lost love, and everything that they were, even when she was in a 'deep romance' with Chris. "That's good to hear, he's a great guy." Was how the writer replied, "They're going to make it, now." He added right before the waitress came back out with their meals, and he thanked her gratefully.

i'm so sorry for being mia recently, i had some difficult things come up and couldn't bring myself to writing. i'm not going to be as active as i have been, and i'm sorry once again.
"i hope so, they are great together." eli replied before thanking the waitress, her eyes trailing down to her food with a soft smile. "this is pretty incredible, thank you for dealing with the late night date request." she stated before picking up her silverware, wanting him to know how much she appreciated what he had done. she knew it wasn't easy, their schedules did like to clash at times.
-
No it is perfectly fine, if you need someone to talk to, that honestly dosen't know you I'm here if you need to vent or anything.
"To be honest it wasn't that hard for me to book us a convenient time." He figured it wasn't a big deal and decided to tell her, "My family um, owns these restaurants." He said a little shaky, hoping it wasn't vain that he brought her one of his own restaurants, "It was just the easiest thing for us at the moment." HE explained, taking a bite so he would stop talking.
