Frilii, as light golden colored vixen fox, came strolling within a foot of the fox kits, with the rain soaking her fur.

Maylin opened her eyes"Who are you?"She asked

She was startled for a moment, but then noticed the source of the noise.
"I'm Frilii, dear, and who might you be?" She said. -
"Well, where's your Mother?" She asked, glancing around as though the mother would appear any minute.

"Won't she be back? She's probably just hunting." She said, nodding in reassurance, more for herself than the pups. Then, seeing the scared faces of the pups, she said, in a defeated voice, "I guess I can stay here until she does, just to make you pups feel safe."
