[ i think we have established that dakota is not an innocent moose. theres always trouble with these two tbh ]

Dakota paled when he heard Lisa's voice, a frown instantly forming when he spotted them coming towards the two boys. "Oh god," he said, inwardly agreeing with Noah about Lisa being plenty scary when she wanted to be. When the group of girls got closer he instantly shook it off and threw on a fake smirk. "Don't worry about him, I'm just trying to tell him about the finer things in life, so of course your name popped up. But it turns out Noah here isn't very good when it comes to talking to girls, and he finds it pretty scary." He patted Noah's head, pretending to comfort him. "So, I'm trying to help him out. Now, we really should leave now, but I hope you girls have fun. I'll see you later, Lisa." Dakota immediately started walking away with a half-hearted wave, hoping to god Noah just followed suit and didn't say anything else that could possibly result in Lisa trying to end their lives.

"I'm not nervous about talking to girls you idiot!" he snapped, though the comment being over looked as Dakota continued, even when his hand was slapped away by Noah. The blond frowned as the other started to walk away, Noah following suit. Though his mumble of the word bitch didn't go unnoticed. "Fuck off you fag." Noah stopped dead when he heard what one of Lisa's friends said, most likely coming from how Lisa and Jill talking about how Noah acted around Dakota. "Shut up before I turn your powdered ass into a frog." he snarled, his temperament bettering him in the current moment. He didn't even care if Dakota was around. The girls posses him off and that was one insult he absolutely hated, half because he'd heard it a lot before. Noah turned and walked off closer to Dakota, though he ended up just walking past him. "come on, let's go get that damn present for your girlfriend that you've been whining about." he snapped, purposely saying it to piss someone off, even if it was Dakota who he angered

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0pt; font-size: 11px; font-family: arial; text-align: justify; width: 350px;]
Dakota hadn't heard the girls' insults, already a good distance away because as far as he was concerned, he wanted to escape the group of girls as soon as possible. He face-palmed at Noah's comments though, already seeing how that would lead to Lisa complaining about how she didn't like his friends later on. "You really don't understand the concept of 'playing along', do you?" he said to Noah once they had walked far enough away. He'd quickened his steps so that he could catch up to the other blond, the frown from earlier back on his lips for various reasons. Having to act like that around Lisa had left him bitter, and having Noah storm off angrily wasn't much help either.

  • [fancypost bgcolor=; border: 0px; margin-top: -10px; text-transform: lowercase; text-align: justify; color: white; font-family: Malgun Gothic; font-size: 10px; line-height: 10px; width: 400px;]im waiting for these two to push each over over the edge

"At least I'm not dating a whore." Noah snapped, still walking with the intention of not being next to Dakota. He didn't even want to be with the other blond for the Hogsmeade visit anymore, he'd rather go back to the castle and vanish into the corridors until Monday rolled around. He was tired of being Jealous of Lisa and of hanging out with Dakota when none of it meant anything. "Look, I'm sorry. I'll shut up for the rest of the trip and then I'll be out of your hair." The blond stated suddenly, as if he'd done something to set Dakota into a fouler mood then he actually was. Noah slowed down as he walked, wrapping his arms around himself in a subconscious effort to shrink away and go unnoticed. "I'm sorry.. I know I'm a dick.. he apologized again, looking down at the grass as he walk.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0pt; font-size: 11px; font-family: arial; text-align: justify; width: 350px;]
    idek what would happen

Dakota's eyes narrowed at the comment but he didn't say anything to defend himself or Lisa. It was true, so there was really no point. He walked a little behind Noah, becoming aware that the other didn't exactly want to walk beside him all buddy-buddy. He kept his hands in his pockets, kicking whatever rocks were in his way, and looked up at Noah's apology. The blond managed to catch up to him once he slowed down, and he shrugged. "It's not like it's not true," he said, sneaking a glance over at the ravenclaw before fixing his eyes back on the path. "You say that a lot, by the way. The whole 'I'll be out of your hair' or 'you can get rid of me soon'. Do you just assume that's what I want?" Dakota asked.

  • [fancypost bgcolor=; border: 0px; margin-top: -10px; text-transform: lowercase; text-align: justify; color: white; font-family: Malgun Gothic; font-size: 10px; line-height: 10px; width: 400px;]Noah looked over, frowning. "Yeah, I guess. I don't see why you'd want me around anyways." He mumbled, biting down on his own lip. He sighed, reaching up to push is hair out of his face. "I don't know why you hang out with me outside of tutoring. None of your friends like me, hell Levi is probably ready to strangle me." He laughed falsely, really just putting himself in a worse mood. Noah kept his arms wrapped around his middle as they walked. He looked over at Dakota again, sighing sadly. He didn't want to act like a dick towards the gryffindor, and he hated being jealous of all the girls Dakota like or dated. "Your not like how I assumed you'd be when I met you for tutoring. I thought you were going to be an arrogant ass. Turns out I'm the mean one." He said quietly, his mouth flicking upwards in a small smile.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0pt; font-size: 11px; font-family: arial; text-align: justify; width: 350px;]
"Well, Levi's ready to strangle anyone who he thinks poses a threat to our reputations. He cares about that more than I do, if you can believe it. And it's not like Alec doesn't like you. He's pretty indifferent about it. But either way, my friends don't have to like you for me to like you." He gave Noah a sideways glance. "And I am arrogant. And an ass, sometimes. But I actually like hanging out with you outside of tutoring, so you'll just have to deal with it," Dakota said with a shrug. "I don't see why that's so hard to believe, really."

  • [fancypost bgcolor=; border: 0px; margin-top: -10px; text-transform: lowercase; text-align: justify; color: white; font-family: Malgun Gothic; font-size: 10px; line-height: 10px; width: 400px;]Noah looked over in surprise, nearly stumbling over his feet. He couldn't keep the surprise of his face, but there was also a small smile on his mouth. "I guess I'm stuck with you." Noah teased him, slowing his pace so that he dropped back by the other blond. "Hey Dakota, when you break up with Lisa, are you going to ask that girl you mentioned out?" He asked quietly, trying to change the subject, even though talking about who Dakota liked wouldn't help his mood any. "You sound like you actually like her, a lot."

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0pt; font-size: 11px; font-family: arial; text-align: justify; width: 350px;]
Dakota took a moment to respond, not really sure how to reply to Noah's question. Not only that, but naturally the other had assumed he had been talking about a girl. "I do like them a lot," he confirmed with a nod, careful not to use neither 'her' or 'him'. "But even if I ask them out, it kinda depends on whether they like me back or not, doesn't it? And it's really weird, cause in the past I've always known that the girl I'm asking out is gonna say yes. Hell, the whole reason I usually ask them out is because I hear they like me. But this person is, um, different. This is the first time I've ever felt kinda nervous about the whole thing," he explained, laughing at himself. "I probably sound like a little kid with a first crush," Dakota joked, turning a light shade of red in embarrassment.

  • [fancypost bgcolor=; border: 0px; margin-top: -10px; text-transform: lowercase; text-align: justify; color: white; font-family: Malgun Gothic; font-size: 10px; line-height: 10px; width: 400px;]The male smiled slightly, huffing some hair out of his nose. "You sound like a school girl obsessing over their crush." He stated, smiling over at Dakota. "I'm sure she'll be happy to have you fussing over her. That's pretty much what every girl at Hogwarts wants, Dakota Cresston around to sleep with." He looked away as he said it, biting down on his lip even though eh was trying to say it in a teasing way. "Are you still not going to tell me who it is?" He asked, looking over with a raised eyebrow.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0pt; font-size: 11px; font-family: arial; text-align: justify; width: 350px;]
Dakota allowed himself to chuckle at Noah's words, shaking his head lightly. "They're definitely not like the rest of the girls at hogwarts. That'd be too easy," he remarked, thinking that if it really was just another girl at their school then he probably wouldn't feel the same anyways. He smirked when he heard the other's question. "Someone's being nosy. You expect me to give you a name when you won't even say who this hot blond you like is? That seems like an unfair trade," Dakota pointed out. Inwardly, though, he was trying to fight back the urge to just tell Noah right then and there. Maybe that way Noah would just tell him 'oh, sorry, but I actually like this girl,' and Dakota could pretend to shrug the whole thing off. He managed to keep himself from doing so, though, but the fact that Noah kept saying 'her' was kind of getting to him. "By the way Noah, I never said it was a 'her'," he added a little more quietly. At least Noah didn't seem like he would judge him too harshly for it anyways.

We finally got somewhere with these two

[b]"I at least had to take a shot at getting the name out of you." He shrugged, smiling slightly. Noah slowed down as he heard Dakota again, unable to keep surprise of his face. At the same time it made his heart jump at hearing those words. "Oh." Was the only noise he could muster, suddenly feeling even worse for when he'd been pinning Dakota down to the bed, or running into him in the bathroom. "Um, sorry." he mumbled, messing with the sleeve of his sweater. He looked over at Dakota again, smiling weakly. "I didn't mean to sound mean or anything, I just assumed I guess." He shrugged.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0pt; font-size: 11px; font-family: arial; text-align: justify; width: 350px;]
yep, these dorks are finally making progress

Dakota felt the corners of his lips quirk upwards upon seeing Noah's response. He had expected him to be surprised, honestly, since really all Dakota ever talked about was girls and he only dated girls. There was a feeling of satisfaction of at least having one weight off his shoulders. "Most people assume that. Only, like, two people know I'm bi at this school. Well, three now. And I'd kinda prefer if it stayed that way, for now at least," he told Noah. He didn't really think the other was the type of person to just tell the whole school anyway, so he wasn't too horribly worried about that. "But it's not a big deal anyway," he added with a shrug.

  • [fancypost bgcolor=; border: 0px; text-align: justify; color: white; font-family: Malgun Gothic; font-size: 10px; line-height: 10px; width: 350px;][align=center][font=georgia][i][size=12][color=black]I'm just such a happy mess!
    [hr][hr][justify]
Dakota should have mentioned that a lot sooner.

[b]"I'm not going to tell anyone, I tend to be able to keep secrets better then most people." He rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly when he spoke. He was going to slap Levi the next time he saw the slytherin. He could distinctively remember him saying that Dakota hadn't shown interest in males before, which appeared to be a lie. Not that he expect anything more from Levi. "I'm still going to try and figure out who you like. Like I said, seeing the rare moments when you blush is pretty hilarious." He smiled at Dakota, letting a few notes of joy enter his tone. He didn't particularly care at the moment that there was almost no chance of the blond liking him, but the conversation had Noah in a pretty good mood.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0pt; font-size: 11px; font-family: arial; text-align: justify; width: 350px;]
tbh i didnt even think about him mentioning it til noah started asking questions. also their walk to hogsmeade has taken ages.

"You're so nosy," Dakota whined, shoving Noah lightly. "But before you go assuming things, I'm telling you right now it's not Levi. So don't even think that. God, it makes me cringe just thinking about it," he said, nearly shuddering at the thought. "And I still think it's unfair that you learned a valuable piece of information from me and all I know about your crush is that they're blonde. Do you have any idea how many blondes are at this school? Like, I haven't even dated half of them, and I get around." He definitely wasn't going to be able to guess if Noah didn't relent. Dakota scowled when he realized that, once again, he was hungry. And since it only seemed appropriate to do so, he tugged on Noah's sleeve. "I require food," he told the other bluntly.

  • [fancypost bgcolor=; border: 0px; text-align: justify; color: white; font-family: Malgun Gothic; font-size: 10px; line-height: 10px; width: 350px;][align=center][font=georgia][i][size=12][color=black]I'm just such a happy mess!
    [hr][hr][justify]
[b]"Oh gosh, that wasn't an image I needed."
He faked a shiver, a grin still on his mouth. "fine, just because your being whiny. They're in our year, and in your house." He frowned slightly when his sleeve was tugged, smiling again at Dakota whining. "Fine, when we get to Hogmeade we can go get food you moose." He countered, shoving the blond's arm. "Now are you happy? You know more about my crush and I agreed to buy you food. I swear your just forcing me onto a date here." Noah pouted, folding his arms over his chest like he was actually upset over it. he suddenly reached over and ruffled Dakota's hair, leaving it a mess. "Do I have a better chance then Levi or am I just as cringe worth?" He asked, a grin on his face. In the corner of his eye he could see that they were about to get to Hogsmeade.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0pt; font-size: 11px; font-family: arial; text-align: justify; width: 350px;]
Dakota was pleased to learn more, even if it was just to narrow down the competition. His lips curled into a teasing smirk. "Wow, a gryffindor, huh? You sure you can handle one of us?" the blond asked jokingly. His smirk soon transformed into a triumphant smile when Noah agreed to get them food. "Thank god, I'm starving. But you know, if this really were a date I hope you'd have enough decency to not talk about another crush. A girl would slap you in a heartbeat," he scolded, although Dakota had been the one to ask in the first place. "Besides, like you said earlier, a lot of girls would love to be in your shoes right now," the blond added with a grin. He blinked in surprise for a moment when Noah reached over, scowling as he ruffled his hair. Not that the feeling was unpleasant, but he'd actually bothered to comb it that morning, and now all his efforts were wasted. He ran a hand through the mop of blond hair a couple of times to fix it, but got distracted by Noah's question. The faintest blush appeared on his cheeks, but he quickly recovered and Dakota scoffed. "I'm sure you'd love to know the answer to that," was all he replied in an amused tone.

  • [fancypost bgcolor=; border: 0px; text-align: justify; color: white; font-family: Malgun Gothic; font-size: 10px; line-height: 10px; width: 350px;][align=center][font=georgia][i][size=12][color=black]I'm just such a happy mess!
    [hr][hr][justify]
Noah stuck his tongue out at the blond, pouting again. [b]"Your really going to deprive me of that information?"
He asked, acting like he was really upset. "You wanna go to the three broomsticks?" He asked, raising an eyebrow as they got closer to the wizarding village. He'd finally stopped wrapping his arms around his middle, his hands stuffed into his jean pockets now. Noah looked away from Dakota, like he'd suddenly lost most of his interest in the blond as they continued to walk down the high street towards the pack of buildings.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0pt; font-size: 11px; font-family: arial; text-align: justify; width: 350px;]
"Sounds good," Dakota agreed breezily, stretching his arms over his head before returning them to his side. He went to hogsmeade at least once every weekend, so the way to The Three Broomsticks was practically carved into his memory. "Hey," he began as he led he way to the inn and pub, "Are you staying here for Christmas break or going back home?" He mainly asked out of curiosity, wondering if Noah went home or stayed at the school. Both he and Levi always ended up going home, having to attend more than a few Christmas parties and more often than not trying to escape.

  • [fancypost bgcolor=; border: 0px; text-align: justify; color: white; font-family: Malgun Gothic; font-size: 10px; line-height: 10px; width: 350px;][align=center][font=georgia][i][size=12][color=black]I'm just such a happy mess!
    [hr][hr][justify]
We're going to casually act like Noah's last name was Linwood this whole time because I swear I must have been half asleep when I gave him the last name Rowan.

[b]"My brother and I always go home. My mom says she never gets to see us enough, so we're kind of forced to." He shrugged, not seeing why it was a big deal. Noah was fond of Hogwarts, and it was more fun then the little town they lived in. He didn't like that they still had to live there, especially now that the boys could bother control their magic. The house was big enough though, and his family was known to have a small Christmas Party for them and their friends each year. Noah had never actually heard of Dakota's parents coming to one of the parties, most likely because they were muggles and the two boys had never really socialized before. Noah assumed the families had met on the platform one year and just kept in touch. "Maybe I'll see you over break. I might be able to convince my parents to let you and your parents come over for our Christmas party. You'd be a lot more fun to hang out with instead of my cousins." Noah wasn't fond of the twins who were known as his cousins. While they were a few months younger then the blond, nearly a year actually, they liked to torment the blond for most of the time they were visiting.
