[ this is a harry potter based rp in case you couldn't tell cx please be semi advanced and be reasonably active, but that's all I really ask xD you can just post a picture and name or make your own bio if you want, and your character can be from whatever house, it's up to you c:

plot: Dakota isn't the best student, barely getting passing grades. Your character is chosen to tutor him, and at first they don't get along very well, but eventually they begin to develop feelings for each other. ]

    Dakota Cresston ~ Gryffindor

The sixth-year Gryffindor member groaned as he stepped into the library, walking towards the tables near the back where he had been told to wait for his new tutor. He didn't think his grades were that bad, but apparently his parents did. Dakota didn't even know the guy who was supposed to be tutoring home; he just hoped he could be persuaded into giving him all the answers. He found himself a table and removed his scarf, taking out his quill and parchment as well as his homework for the day. The blond hadn't paid much attention in class, so he honestly had no idea how to even begin. He leaned back in his chair, thinking he'd just wait for the other guy to show up.

Ravenclaw | 6th year[fancypost bgcolor=; border: none; width: 350px; height: 215px; padding: 0px; overflow: hidden][fancypost bgcolor=; border: none; width: inherit; height: inherit; padding: 0px; padding-right: 17px; overflow-y: auto; overflow-x: hidden][fancypost bgcolor=; border: none; width: inherit; min-height: 137px; padding: 0px; font-size: 10px; line-height: 12px; text-align: justify; color: #e6e6e6; text-transform: lowercase; font-family: verdana]The blond typically put every effort into not being around other people. He just didn't get why they had to be so loud or stupid. Him being blunt, sarcastic and demeaning probably didn't help that. Getting a letter from his parents say he'd been asked to tutor a family friend's kid, whom he'd never met, wasn't the happiest thing to him. It sounded more like hell.

If you needed a tutor, that immediately meant a bunch of stuff in Noah's brain. A, your idiotic. B, you've planning nothing of your future. C, your probably a delinquent. There were plenty other things, but he really didn't have enough time to list the whole alphabetic list.

He ran his nimble fingers through his blond hair, walking into the library with his bag. He'd probably have a migraine after the session. Noah walked to the table near the back, spotting the other male before he got over there. He'd never spoken to the other, and while he was sure the other was in a few of his classes, the more basic ones at least, he didn't really recognize him. The blond's amber like eyes rolled as he walked over, setting his bag on the table. He glanced at the other, sighing.

"What homework from classes do you still need to do?" He asked, raising an eyebrow. Noah was proud to say he'd already finish all of his, a good portion of it had been done in class actually. [/fancypost][/fancypost][/fancypost][/fancypost]

Dakota hadn't spotted the other student, too busy playing with a loose piece of thread hanging from his sleeve, until Noah was right in front of him. He inwardly groaned. Of all the students here, he just had to be a Ravenclaw. No doubt the other already thought he was an idiot. Most Ravenclaws did, really. Not only that, but Dakota barely recognized the guy, and Dakota knew a pretty large amount of the student body on campus. Which basically meant his tutor was probably that kid who stayed in his chambers getting a jumpstart on next year's homework. Fun.
"Well hello to you too," he muttered, looking the other boy over. "All of it. I haven't started." He finished taking out his textbooks and gave the other an expectant look. "I have transfiguration, runes, and defense against the dark arts. We could make this easier on both of us and you could do it for me or you can actually bother with trying to teach me," he offered.

  • [fancypost bgcolor=#151515; border: 0px; width: 420px; height: 115px; color: Ivory;][fancypost bgcolor=; border: none; width: 410px; height: 105px; padding: 0px; overflow: hidden][fancypost bgcolor=; border: none; width: inherit; height: inherit; padding: 0px; padding-right: 17px; overflow-y: auto; overflow-x: hidden][fancypost bgcolor=; border: none; width: inherit; min-height: 137px; padding: 0px; font-size: 10px; line-height: 12px; text-align: justify; color: #e6e6e6; text-transform: lowercase; font-family: verdana]The male liked that people didn't know him, it meant that they wouldn't bug him. The only reason some people knew him was because they were in his house or they'd seen him when he occasionally stood in as a Ravenclaw chaser. He played fine, pretty well actually, but Noah still refused to join the team when the try outs were held at the beginning of the year. He was fine being a sub.

Upon hearing the male hadn't even started, the blond nearly hit himself in the face. No surprise there. "I'm not doing your homework for you, for multiple reasons that your too narrow minded to think of." He said bluntly, sitting his butt down in one of the chairs with a sigh. Noah reached over and pulled the defense against the dark arts book into the center of the table. "I'm guessing it's too much for me to assume you already have your name on your parchment?" He asked sarcastically without looking up. He flipped through the book with nimble fingers, frowning slightly when he noticed there was still a bit of clap on his palm and around his fingernails. Noah ignored it though and flipped the book open to the first page they'd read in class. "I can't help you a whole lot with your essay, as that should be in your own words and such. But I can read it over after you write the rough draft. I'll correct your mistakes and then you write the final copy. It should improve you grade a bit if you have less spelling errors and less facts wrong."

"But it would save us so much trouble," Dakota defended, twirling his quill around his fingers absentmindedly. "I'd be perfectly fine with just a passing grade, so that wouldn't even be hard for you," he added, trying to reason with him. Clearly, the other wasn't going to agree, but it had been worth a shot. Dakota looked down at his parchment and frowned, realizing he really hadn't even written his name. The only thing written at all was a small frowny face on the top corner of the paper in black ink, which was an understatement to how he was feeling right about now.
"Essay. Right," the blonde said, rubbing the back of his neck as he wondered where to begin. He scribbled his name easily enough, as well as the proper heading, before staring at the rest of the blank space. "So, uh, what exactly is it supposed to be about?" he finally asked, blinking up at Noah with genuine uncertainty. He had paid little to no attention in class, and he supposed this is what he deserved. Not that it made it any more pleasant.

  • [fancypost bgcolor=#151515; border: 0px; width: 420px; height: 115px; color: Ivory;][fancypost bgcolor=; border: none; width: 410px; height: 105px; padding: 0px; overflow: hidden][fancypost bgcolor=; border: none; width: inherit; height: inherit; padding: 0px; padding-right: 17px; overflow-y: auto; overflow-x: hidden][fancypost bgcolor=; border: none; width: inherit; min-height: 137px; padding: 0px; font-size: 10px; line-height: 12px; text-align: justify; color: #e6e6e6; text-transform: lowercase; font-family: verdana]"Trolls." He said simply, adding on after a moment. "Seven hundred words or more on the difference, similarity and tactics in dealing with the three different types of trolls." He looked over, blinking as if that was simplest thing to do. Noah could see from the look on the other male's face that he knew nothing on the topic. The blond sighed, pointing to a section of writing in the book. "This is part is on Mountain Trolls, I'd suggest starting with them, because the book gives a lot of information. Just compare them to the other breeds of trolls as you write."

To him, it was simple enough, after all he'd written the same thing a few hours ago. Noah picked up the ancient runes book and flipped through it, expecting to hear the scratch of Dakota's quill on the parchment as he read through a few sections in the book to keep himself busy.

For once Dakota actually paid attention to what the other said, nodding in understanding. 700 words didn't sound too bad, especially if most of the information was right there in the book. And it's not as if he was a terrible writer, he just wasn't the best. He usually had the right ideas in his head; the problem was the execution. Dakota sighed and got to work, writing away on the parchment and looking at the book many times to make sure the information was at least somewhat accurate. Time passed and, although it hadn't seemed like a lot initially, Dakota's mind drew a blank after the first 600 words. He didn't have any desire to actually ask the Ravenclaw for help, even if that was his job as his personal tutor, but he was at a loss for what to add.
He cleared his throat awkwardly in an effort to get the other's attention, setting his quill down. "I don't really know what else to write," he mumbled quietly, not looking at Noah. Wow, he really needed to work on this whole 'asking for help' thing.

  • [fancypost bgcolor=#151515; border: 0px; width: 420px; height: 115px; color: Ivory;][fancypost bgcolor=; border: none; width: 410px; height: 105px; padding: 0px; overflow: hidden][fancypost bgcolor=; border: none; width: inherit; height: inherit; padding: 0px; padding-right: 17px; overflow-y: auto; overflow-x: hidden][fancypost bgcolor=; border: none; width: inherit; min-height: 137px; padding: 0px; font-size: 10px; line-height: 12px; text-align: justify; color: #e6e6e6; text-transform: lowercase; font-family: verdana]the blond looked up from the text book, having read a good part of it. He set the book down on the table, sitting open to a few chapters ahead of where they were in class. He carefully slid the parchment over in front of him, making sure his long fingers didn't blot the ink. He glanced over at Dakota again, blinking. "You might have missed some information or it's possible to lengthen your sentences a bit, I'll make corrections to do so if I can." He said shrugging. "It would give you time to work on ancient runes or transfiguration." He looked back down at the sheet of parchment before he finished speaking. "Ancient runes is translating page 538 and Transfiguration is to review and practice turning a flower pot into a hawk properly. We'll be doing it tomorrow as a review over some older stuff."

Noah's pale eyes skimmed over the lines of still wet ink, his own quill sitting nearby to be dunked in a bit of blue ink for corrections. Every once and a while he'd pick up his feathered quill and make a small mark, such as capitalization or a missing coma. It was a while before he wrong any sentences or handful of words to add in for the other male. His own handwritting was small and neat as he wrong in between the other's lines of words. It was a bit over a half an hour later when he slid the parchment back. "It's officially 714 words, with corrections. It'll bring your grade up, not badly written at all. Your information seemed a bit scattered though." He said bluntly. • [fancypost borderwidth=0pt; font-size: 11px; font-family: arial; text-align: justify; width: 350px;]
Dakota happily watched as the other took his essay, thinking the guy could just keep it for all he cared. Of course the relief of having done at least a small portion of his homework quickly vanished as Noah listed off the rest of his assignments. "God, just when I thought I was done," he groaned, setting his head down on his Ancient Runes book and letting his shaggy blonde hair fall out of place. He gathered the energy to raise his head, if only to look up at Noah. "By the way, how come I've never seen you before? I mean, not to brag, but I know a lot of the students here, and I don't think I've ever spoken to you once. Do you live in this library or something?"
If Dakota managed to drag a conversation out of the other then maybe he'd get distracted form the actual homework, if only momentarily. All he knew was that he needed some sort of break before starting another assignment. His attention span already wasn't the most stable, and it was true he barely knew the guy. His parents had called Noah's parents 'family friends', but he supposed their closeness remained in their circle of adults.

  • [fancypost bgcolor=#151515; border: 0px; width: 420px; height: 115px; color: Ivory;][fancypost bgcolor=; border: none; width: 410px; height: 105px; padding: 0px; overflow: hidden][fancypost bgcolor=; border: none; width: inherit; height: inherit; padding: 0px; padding-right: 17px; overflow-y: auto; overflow-x: hidden][fancypost bgcolor=; border: none; width: inherit; min-height: 137px; padding: 0px; font-size: 10px; line-height: 12px; text-align: justify; color: #e6e6e6; text-transform: lowercase; font-family: verdana]the blond shrugged at the question. "I'm not much a people person. the only people who know me are a couple on the quidditch team because I occasionally sub in." He shrugged. He had never met Dakota as far as he could remember, though his mother had wrote that when were children, the families had met up once or twice with the children. "My brother is more of the social idiot." He said coldly. Noah's brother was a fourth year, but he was a pain, and Noah was known for hitting him over the head when he was an idiot.

The blond leaned back in his chair, running his fingers through his hair to get it out of his face. he was somewhat bored, and he didn't really feel like reading for once. Noah looked over towards the darken windows, biting on his own lip as he sat there in silence to let the other male work.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0pt; font-size: 11px; font-family: arial; text-align: justify; width: 350px;]
Dakota could already tell that Noah wasn't a fan of people, and he scoffed as the other spoke rather bitterly about his brother. "You know, it's not bad to be social. There are people like you, who hide behind books all the time, and there are people like me, who knows everyone that matters around here. But the thing is, when we're older, people like me will have people like you to do all the work for them. That's how it is." He mindlessly worked on his next assignment as he talked, not paying much attention to the translation. "So this is all kind of pointless, the way I see it." The boy smirked. Honestly he was just trying to get a reaction out of the other at this point, seeing if he would get irritated or not. Messing with people was a form of entertainment for him. Hell, if he hadn't been assigned to Gryffindor then he no doubt would've been placed in the Slytherin house.
He set his quill down once he finished the translation, though he wasn't sure just how accurate it was in all honesty. He'd been too distracted toying with the guy seated in front of him to focus much. "I'm done, by the way," he announced, leaning back in his chair and stretching out his arms.

  • [fancypost bgcolor=#151515; border: 0px; width: 420px; height: 115px; color: Ivory;][fancypost bgcolor=; border: none; width: 410px; height: 105px; padding: 0px; overflow: hidden][fancypost bgcolor=; border: none; width: inherit; height: inherit; padding: 0px; padding-right: 17px; overflow-y: auto; overflow-x: hidden][fancypost bgcolor=; border: none; width: inherit; min-height: 137px; padding: 0px; font-size: 10px; line-height: 12px; text-align: justify; color: #e6e6e6; text-transform: lowercase; font-family: verdana]the blond rolled his eyes, glancing over at the other male like he'd just said the stupidest thing possible, which he had. Was that really how he thought to world worked? It was the people who worked hard in school who ended up on top, the ones who knew what they were doing. Noah didn't even put the energy into calling him an idiot, it was held in his stare. He really had to help this moron pass sixth year? He didn't know how he'd passed all the previous years.

He looked down at the translated page, sighing. "Your technically not done. You still have to rewrite your essay if you want full credit and practice at lease a few times for transfiguration." He said, dryly, glancing over the translation. He didn't find many errors, just enough to keep the other male from getting and A or a B on it. B- was probably the top he'd get, if even that. Noah was ready for this session to be over, and to next ones to never exist. He didn't get why he should waste his own free time on trying to help someone who didn't even care.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0pt; font-size: 11px; font-family: arial; text-align: justify; width: 350px;]
"Aw, you're no fun. Here I am trying to provoke you and all you can think about is homework," Dakota whined, forming a mock pout as he grabbed his essay back. "Hey, I told you this would go a lot smoother if you just did it for me," he reminded the other as he skimmed through the corrections, not failing to catch the dryness in Noah's tone. "My parents wouldn't even have to know." Even as he said this he continued to work on his essay, if only to get through the tutoring session without having the guy try to kill him. And, considering the Ravenclaw actually paid attention in class and knew what he was doing, it was likely that his attempted murder would succeed if he actually tried.
Eventually Dakota did finish his essay, managing to come up with a 705 word paper. He held it up victoriously. "And they said it couldn't be done.." he commented, mostly to himself. The boy looked across the desk to Noah. "See? I finished it. That wasn't so hard." Honestly Dakota couldn't remember the last time he had actually completed an assigned essay, which was why he usually only got partial credit on everything.

  • [fancypost bgcolor=; border: none; font-size: 10px; line-height: 10px; text-align: justify; color: #e6e6e6; text-transform: lowercase; font-family: verdana]"despite what you think, Dakota, I already knew what you were trying to do." He said, a sharp note on the other boy's name, even though neither of them had mentioned their names. He'd found the other male's name on the inside of his book, easy enough, not that the other blond needed to know that. He glanced over as the other male said his essay was done. "congrats, you've done two thirds of your homework." He said, motionlessly. Really, he was just getting bored and trying to not shoot sarcasm back at Dakota before smacking him over the head with his ancient runes book. It was highly tempting. He finally gave into the ticking time bomb of sarcasm, just a little bit. "You know I wonder if your parents or the teachers would notice if I used you as transfiguration practice." He mused, eying Dakota with crickled eyes, and he really looked like he was considering it. Then again, he was.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0pt; font-size: 11px; font-family: arial; text-align: justify; width: 350px;]
Dakota frowned as he heard his name used, not really liking how the other had said it and unhappy at the fact that the guy actually knew it. He had honestly just been planning on saying "hey you" if he ever needed the other's attention. It may be ridiculous, but he didn't want to be the only one left in the dark. Dakota was pretty competitive when it came to just about anything, so of course he wasn't pleased with not knowing his own tutor's name. Still, it wasn't as if he was about to ask him. Hearing Noah's additional comment, Dakota narrowed his eyes, slightly worried that he would actually do it and transform him into god knows what. "You wouldn't dare. It's against the rules, and there's no way you'd risk damaging your spotless student record by using magic on me," the blonde shot back, although he couldn't deny the fact that he was a bit concerned for himself at the moment.

  • [fancypost bgcolor=; border: none; font-size: 10px; line-height: 10px; text-align: justify; color: #e6e6e6; text-transform: lowercase; font-family: verdana]The blond's eyebrow quirked up, an amused smirk on his mouth. "No one ever said I had a spotless record." he dangled the information in front of the other blond like bait to a fish. It was pretty amusing actually. This tended to happen when he socialized, he'd taunt people with information for his own amusement, just so they could stop acting like know it alls. He wouldn't be a bad Slytherin. He did have a pretty clean record except for a few things he got in trouble for as a first year. He normally didn't get caught, because no one would think the quiet blond would want to cause chaos. He had his occasional moments though. "hm, I think you'd make a very handsome pot-bellied pig." he mused

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0pt; font-size: 11px; font-family: arial; text-align: justify; width: 350px;]
Dakota stared at Noah incredulously, unsure whether he should believe the information he was given. He found it difficult to believe that the seemingly social recluse sitting in front of him had ever gotten into any trouble. In his mind, Dakota figured that all the other did was sit in the library or his room and read and did homework. Nothing worthy of getting in trouble. "Are you saying that a studious Ravenclaw such as you has actually gotten in trouble before? I highly doubt that," Dakota retorted, making his disbelief obvious enough. He formed a scowl at Noah's suggestion. "Although I'm flattered you think I'd make a handsome pig, I think my looks as a perfectly fine human being are much better. Most people seem to think so, at least."

  • [fancypost bgcolor=; border: none; font-size: 10px; line-height: 10px; text-align: justify; color: #e6e6e6; text-transform: lowercase; font-family: verdana]The blond chuckled, leaning over the table so he was a little closer to the other male's face. "who do you think set my Emma's hair on fire last month?" he asked, smirking. Emma was another sixth year gryffindor, and she was really a quiet pretty girl. She was very picky in the guys she went out with, and she was bossy and mean to most Poole that were below Her popularity level. Last month in Defense against the dark arts between Gryffindors and Ravenclaws, she'd been passing cruel rumor filled notes about. Her hair had randomly caught fire in class. It ended up being burned from her mid back length to a little above her shoulders. She'd cut it into a bob, but it was clear she was still angry about the incident. But that had indeed been Noah. He's gotten annoyed with her cruel notes and snarky comments. Teacher hadn't seen him, and no one suspected the quiet blond, so he hadn't been caught. "You would make a cute pig. Though we would probably have to feed you to the hippogriffs." he mused, sitting back in his chair.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0pt; font-size: 11px; font-family: arial; text-align: justify; width: 350px;]
Dakota's jaw dropped at what Noah was implying. "You're kidding. That was you? She was so pissed when it happened," he said laughingly as he recalled what had happened. He had been there when Emma was passing notes around, only vaguely interested. He wouldn't consider her a friend, per se, but they had made out when they were 4th years, so he was included in the group of people she spoke to. Her hair had lit up like a campfire and Dakota and his friends had practically died of laughter afterwards, but they hadn't known who had done it. He never would have guessed that it was Noah of all people, and it was pretty shocking. Recovering from his bit of laughter, he shook his head. "I'd prefer not to be eaten by a hippogriff, seriously. And why a pig of all things? At least transform me into something cool," Dakota huffed.

  • [fancypost bgcolor=; border: none; font-size: 10px; line-height: 10px; text-align: justify; color: #e6e6e6; text-transform: lowercase; font-family: verdana]"Because, your most like a pig or a peacock. And peacocks are more interesting then a pig, plus they're not common in Britian." he stated, like that clear the other male's question up. He was still hiding a small smirk on his mouth as he stood up, picking up his back. "seeing as all you have to do now is practice a spell, I think I can trust you to do that alone without poking out your eye." that was pretty much the best version of a goodbye you'd grt from Noah. That became clear as he turned and walked towards the entrance of the library. He was tired and growing bored of babysitting the blond for the night. He was heading back to the Ravenclaw Tower.
