    Ooc; I can if you want me to, but if you think it'd be easier if you were the instructor than that's alright too ^^ Either way works for me

    Ic; Henry quickly hurried over to the edge of the room, where the smooth padded floor for training met with the marble that went through the rest of the house. Keeping his attention fixed on Xavier and his mentor, he sat himself down on a small stool that, by now, was left there for him since it was insisted that Henry stayed to watch, which he was glad to do. In truth, he really did enjoy watching his master learn how to use the abilities he was given, for Henry would always end up impressed with whatever happened to be taught that day. Sometimes, he even found himself being more attentive to the lesson than Xavier was. The boy then folded his hands across his lap drew his legs together, reminding himself not to get too absorbed in thought. Whenever he did, he usually started daydreaming and pretending he could use the same powers as the other nobles in the house. He instantly shook his head once again. No. I shouldn't even be thinking about that. Henry inwardly scolded himself, his eyes darkening shamefully, and he turned his attention back on the other two.

    [ I can be the instructor then, just to make it flow more easily i guess c: ]

    The man looked up from a clipboard that he always seemed to carry on him, which had the day's objective written out in neat handwriting. Usually Xavier accomplished it in the usual time span, but if there was a particularly hard lesson it would take more than a day's class to get it right. "Combat," he replied simply, already knowing Xavier would be pleased. The instructor, called Kane, beckoned the boy closer and he obediently stepped towards the center of the training area. "You often learn different techniques every day, and you practice them individually. But being a warrior for the Queen requires fast thinking and being able to make decisions in the blink of an eye. You can't waste time wondering which power to use when you're being threatened by a monster twice the size of you. So today we're focusing on your reaction speed and your ability to think under pressure. I've already set up the system, so just tell me when you're ready if you have no questions." Kane proceeded to walk away, ready to begin the practice. Xavier stretched out a bit, already knowing today would be a bit more challenging. He glanced over at Henry with a smile. "Wish me luck, okay?"

    Ooc; Alright, sounds good to me! Also, sorry for the shorter post; rushed.

    Ic; Henry observed them quietly as they conversed, gripping tightly the rag he had forgotten he was holding. He blinked curiously. Combat? A seed of nervousness planted itself inside him then, but when Xavier turned to him, he couldn't help but smile in return, and he nodded with a glow of affection, "Of course, Young Master." The boy replied, before peering around the other to glance at Kade as he made to leave. Henry bit his lip anxiously, then added, "And...be careful." He locked eyes with Xavier intently, with sudden solemn countenance, "Please."

    [ it's all good ^^ I had too much fun writing this scene i'm sorry cx ]

    Normally Xavier would have responded with a witty remark or a joke about how Henry's hair was going to grow grey faster because of how much he worried, but the serious look in the smaller boy's eyes made his own gaze soften as he nodded. "If you insist," he replied softly. He remained facing Henry as he bowed in an overly dramatic way, acting as if he was about to give a performance. When he straightened he wore a playful grin on his face. "And now I, Xavier, shall amaze you with my abilities. I'm ready now Kane," he announced, turning so that he no longer faced his valet. Kane nodded and turned on the mechanism that produced 3D holograms of the monsters Xavier would likely face one day. The quality was impressive and honestly they seemed very real to the young noble. Xavier glanced around and, sure enough, a four-legged creature came out of nowhere with sharp claws and fangs bared. Xavier's eyes widened in surprise and he jumped out of the way, narrowly avoiding being scratched by said claws. He recovered though, and quickly recited a mantra in his head, causing a glowing beam of light that resembled a sword to appear in his hand. He moved swiftly and nimbly, dodging another attack before stabbing the creature with the blade of light. Xavier let out a sigh of relief as it disappeared into nothingness and reminded himself to thank Henry for fixing his hair beforehand, glad that it was out of his way.

    Ooc; Thank you ^^; Nah that's perfectly fine, I'm glad you're enjoying it!

    Ic; Looking like he wanted to protest slightly, Henry sat back in his seat, not completely reassured, but more than anything he believed in his master's abilities. When the hologram machine began running, the young servant tentatively reached down to grip the underside of the stool with stiff fingers, and soon the flaunting show began. As the monsters began to materialize, obviously illusions but looking very real in Henry's opinion, he suddenly felt as though a great weight had been abruptly lifted off his head, and a dizzying sensation gripped him almost as tightly as he was the rag. Oh, he'd forgotten again. Whenever Henry saw one of those creatures, no matter now holographic they were, an uncontrollable wave of terror would never fail to wash over him, and he desperately had to remind himself that they were, indeed, fake. Only the faint-hearted boy found it horrifying that monstrous beings like that actually existed in the real world. Henry nearly pinched himself at that. Stop thinking about it, you fool! You'll only make yourself pass out! You have one job right now, that's to support the Young Master. And that's what you must do. Though his internal struggle wasn't helped much when he saw the creatures now attacking Xavier, and his breath hitched even though the older boy easily defeated his opponents. It took a while, but eventually Henry was able to distract himself from the fear by concentrating intensely on the other boy and how he swiftly evaded the onslaught of tooth and fang, although the younger's face was growing rather pale from the phobia and effort.

    About five monsters, each more difficult to destroy than its predecessor, and an hour later Kane finally turned off the simulator with an approving nod. Xavier stood in the center of the training arena, panting slightly and his hair disheveled once again. His hands no longer glowed with light and he ran a hand through his pale locks, trying to catch his breath. The boy couldn't deny that he was tired, but his eyes shined victoriously as he looked over at Henry. "Not bad, huh?" he asked lightheartedly before Kane walked up to him. "You did pretty well, I'll admit that much. But after the first three your form got a bit sloppy. Although your reactions were quick, you can't let your movements become hasty. Forgetting to set your stance properly may not seem like a big deal, but what if you lose your balance and suddenly you're on the ground while being attacked? We'll have to work on that," Kane said with arms crossed, strict as ever. Still, it didn't bother Xavier much. "Yeah, I get it," he responded, glancing down at his arms which were covered in light scratches. Kane fixed his gaze on Henry with a nod. "Make sure you tend to his minor injuries," he advised before crossing something off his clipboard and beginning to walk away. Xavier shrugged as he made his way towards his valet. "They don't really hurt, so I should be fine," he said dismissively.

    Ic; When the practice was finally over, Henry's shoulders visibly slacked in relief, though his mental state was still rather fogged. He gave Xavier a pallid smile when the older turned to him once again, and the valet could plainly see his expression was indomitably triumphant. Kade spoke to him then, and Henry nodded feebly, shakily getting to his feet to examine the Young Master's wounds. He regarded the noble with a raised brow, "They could still get infected. I'm not taking any chances." He replied laconically, returning to the edge of the room where a shelf stood. Upon it stacked several gauze pads as well as ointment, and the servant quickly selected the needed material, rather well educated in the art of medications. Henry then walked back over to the other and applied the substances, going straight to wrapping the other's arms with a thin medical tape, casting a sidelong look at his patient as he worked, then stepped back when the job was done. "I suppose it looks a bit worse that it actually is, but leave those on, alright?" He instructed, all traces of his previous ill state gone, now replaced by a an air of authority. Henry--more or less--usually got this way whenever he wanted to make sure Xavier wouldn't disregard taking care of himself.

    Xavier shrugged but didn't object, not very keen on protesting when Henry got like this. The valet spoke with an authority that he didn't feel like opposing, and it was likely that Henry knew a lot more than Xavier when it came to these things. Therefore, Xavier simply looked on as his arms were taped up, silently admiring the other's work. "Alright," he agreed as the smaller boy finished, stretching out his arms. "That session was harder than the others. I'm kinda tired," Xavier admitted. "And of course Kane is as strict as ever," he added a little more quietly in case the instructor was still around. He chuckled and nudged Henry lightly with his elbow. "At least you didn't get in trouble. C'mon." Xavier led the way out of the training room with a sigh. "But I can't lie, I was kinda hoping I would have to make it up to you. I already had something planned," he said as he stepped into the hallway, purposely not giving away what he had had in mind out of a desire to keep Henry in the dark.

    Ooc;

    Ic; The valet followed his movements but was taken aback by this. "W-What do you mean?" He stuttered, hesitating at first to follow Xavier as he proceeded to leave. "Wait. Then you wanted me to get in trouble?" By now Henry had caught up with the noble and was studying the other carefully, trying to figure out if Xavier was joking or not. He had to admit, he was rather intrigued by his master's utterance, but Henry didn't want to look like he was too interested in the matter, though it took some effort not to press further. The boy clicked his tongue, an apprehensive look shading his face, and he glanced away nonchalantly. "Well...what was it?" He finally murmured casually, gazing at the bronze windowsills as if they were the most interesting thing in the world.

    Xavier's lips quirked upwards into an amused smirk as Henry questioned him. "I wouldn't say that I wanted to get you in trouble....More like I wanted to be able to repay you if you did. It sounds better. Plus, my idea was pretty great," he said, giving Henry a sidelong glance as the boy stared out at the windowsills. Although it looked as if he wasn't very interested, his question said otherwise. Xavier strolled down the halls, not immediately answering the valet. "Can't tell you," the older boy stated matter-of-factly. "But, I might show you anyway. If you can catch me, that is." Xavier grinned and his eyes glinted mischievously before he took off through the hall. The fatigue that had encompassed him due to his training vanished, mainly because he seemed to have endless stamina when it came to messing with Henry. The pale haired boy laughed merrily as he turned a corner, not running as fast as he could have but still keeping a decent speed.

    Ooc;

    Ic; Henry watched the other boy bolt down the hall, dumbstruck for a half a second before stumbling forward to dash after him, and as he did he exhaled in irritation toward himself. It was silly of him to think Xavier would explain as simply as that. Henry nearly tripped over his own feet as he narrowly avoided crashing into a cabinet when he turned a corner, though he was able to successfully regain his speed once again. He then jerked his head up to throw a glance at the noble who was running to escape his pursuit, and Henry hopelessly reached up to brush out of the way his own hair that was threatening to fall into his eyes. After what seemed like a long while of getting nowhere, the boy swallowed hard. I don't know how much longer I can keep this up... Gathering himself, he forced his legs to boost him ahead one last time, and, by some miracle that had been bestowed upon him, or perhaps merely by pure luck, the boy reached an arm out and was able to catch a grip on the back of Xavier's sleeve. Eyes widening with sudden shock, Henry's legs automatically pulled back, making him come to an abrupt halt, still desperately clutching the other's shirt between his fingers. Gasping for breath, he now peered up at the noble with an indescribable expression, as if torn between pride, embarrassment, and a fear that he might have done something wrong.

    Xavier enjoyed running down the halls more than he should, if he was to be honest with himself, but it was always fun when Henry was the one chasing after him. It had always been this way, even when they were much younger. Henry always hurrying after him while Xavier ran ahead, usually laughing, but not at Henry. It was never at Henry. It was simply that he was happy to have the other there. And he always knew that either the smaller boy would manage to catch him or Xavier would end up going back to him. The feeling never got old. So although he was surprised, the taller of the two didn't mind at all that his valet had snagged his shirt and, due to gravity and inertia and such, Xavier ended up being unexpectedly pulled back mid-stride. If he hadn't been so light on his feet it was likely that he would have fallen backwards, and he actually almost did, but he managed to catch his balance just in time. He looked down at Henry, laughing in amusement at the fact that he had been caught. "It looks like you're getting better at chasing me," he remarked, rubbing the back of his neck. "I guess I'm going to have to end up showing you then," Xavier added.

    Ooc; Do you think we should have the main scene come up soon, or wait a bit more? Just asking, but I'm fine with anything ^^

    Ic; Henry stood motionlessly fretting in another delayed pause, then briskly retracted his arm to where he clasped his wrist with his other hand in a vice grip. "I-I should hope so." He mused, dragging his eyes away from the face before him to some other less-interesting point in space. A shy smile grazed his lips, and a soft chuckle escaped him, "You're very nice...thank you, Young Master." On the surface the statement might have seemed like an off-hand murmur of gratitude, but Henry spoke with such an air of sincerity that as soon as the words passed through his lips he immediately felt too serious. The boy coughed awkwardly, though this was more of an automatic reaction, and rose to clarify, "I- mean I'm very grateful!" He lifted his hands in defense against a fluster of imaginary attack.

    OOC: probably soon, I don't really know what time of day it currently is for them so I guess we can just say it's around dinner time ? cx

    Henry's genuine sincerity wasn't new to Xavier, but even so it gave the noble a strange feeling in his chest and made his cheeks turn a faint pink at the compliment. At least Henry's flustered words saved Xavier from having to give much of a reply. "It's nothing," he said with a dismissive shrug. He gave a small smile and reached out, ruffling Henry's hair which, he noticed, was soft and so different from his own white locks. Now that he thought about it, hair as dark as Henry's was rare in their household. Probably due to hereditary circumstances, most who held powers of light had pale features like himself. In their estate, Henry probably stood out the most. Xavier turned away from his thoughts as a much more pressing matter came to the surface: hunger. The hours of training had worked up an appetite in the boy, and all he felt like doing right about now was eating until he was full. "I'm starving. Let's go get some food," he commented, stretching out his arms and continuing to walk down the hall, this time heading in the direction of the dining room.

    Ooc; Sounds good! Maybe Xavier could eat outside for some reason so the scene can later lead into it?

    Ic; Henry recoiled slightly at the other's touch and an eye fluttered shut. Despite the hesitant reaction, he actually enjoyed the sensation in an odd sort of way. The familiarity and reassurance of Xavier's hand was rather comforting, and the younger boy's shoulders visibly relaxed in late response, though he was so caught up in his own array of thoughts that the slight change of the noble's countenance color was overlooked. At the mention of food, Henry's lowered oculars blinked, then flashed up expectantly, causing the valet to stand up straighter, "Uh...right!" He agreed, scampering after the other faithfully, "Shall I go ask the chef to make you dinner?" Henry was suddenly aware of his own hunger that was beginning to gnaw at him with irking force, though he knew he'd be able to ignore it without much trouble for the time being. It wasn't particularly because he didn't want to be a pain--well, maybe that was half of it--but it had become more than a habit of his to put his master's needs before his own. Sure, this was the fundamental law of any and all servants. However, this principle had been forever engraved within Henry's basic rules of conduct specifically towards Xavier alone.

    OOC: works for me ^^

    IC:
    "Yeah, that'd be a good idea. I was sorta planning on just sneaking into the kitchen and grabbing something, but dinner sounds better," Xavier said with a nod. On some days it was quite a struggle to get the noble to sit down and eat a proper meal, mainly since he often got restless and didn't like sitting down for very long or simply because he was in the middle of doing something. He could think of various times where he'd just furtively slipped into the kitchen and stolen a dessert or two when the chef wasn't looking. Now, however, he was actually pretty hungry and tired enough to sit down for a while and enjoy a pleasant dinner. Xavier glanced out the window absentmindedly. If it was close to dinner time then his parents would more than likely be eating with the guests they had invited over, and he had no desire to sit in a room full of adults talking about political matters. The weather was nice enough, and he quickly made a decision. "Hey, I think I wanna eat outside today," he told his valet. "Could you get someone to set up a table in the garden or something? It doesn't have to be fancy or anything."
