Smoke watched the cat from the trees, his dark gray coat blending in with the shadows, his golden eyes shining.

Taintedblue prowled around, then caught sight of a Tortioseshell she-cat. "Hello." He growled, padding up.

She turned to face the Tom " hi" she meow

"I'm Taintedblue. What is your name?" He asked, his blue eyes gleaming.

" darkflower" she said as she look at him with questioning eyes

"That's a surprisingly feminine name, for such a tough-looking cat. But I suppose the 'dark' sets it off." His whiskers twitched in amusement.

"what do you go by" she said as she glanced around

"So, what are you up to?" He asked brightly.

"Looking for prey" she said as she padded past him

"Well, then. I should leave you to that." Taintedblue mewed, his whiskers twitching as he watched her go.

Taintedblue dipped his head and sat downs curling his thick tabby tail over his soft white paws. Well, now what to do? He looked around, his sharp blue eyes flickering.

I came to a stop in the middle of the forest. I sniffed the air and let out a shrill call

Taintedblue's ears pricked when he heard the cry, was I it call of for help? He ventured into the forest.

She ran deeper into the forest leaving a clump of her fur and the smell of badgers left behind

Taintedblue ran, his eyes wide. He saw blood, badger fur, and the left-behind scent of Darkflower. His heart racing, he took off after the trail and the little dots of blood that lined the path.
