Nic's time has come.
Reaching into his sweater pocket, Nic pulled out his trusty lighter. The fire insignia on the silver gleamed in the minimal light. Hesitating, he swallowed his protectiveness and threw the lighter at Sarah, "Will this work?" he called, hoping it would.
He shot a glare at Meg-for one since he met her, it was genuine, "How'd you know about my lighter?" he asked suspiciously.

Ic: Diana smiled in relief." Oh my gosh that's awesome!" She said happily and in relief. God I'm so glad I could kiss you! she wanted to say, but she didn't want to appear like that. She ran over, grabbed the powder kegs and said "Light em up. Ill throw em at the rocks."

"I saw it in your jacket when we were at the pool."Meg said smiling at him then looking at Sarah"Lit em up!"she said and fist punched the air happily she loved explosions

(Okay, more of an explaination of powder kegs: they are large barrels, usually used in mines for blowing up large areas of rock. They appear mainly in western games and movies)
Sarah glanced over. "Alright, I'll grab the wire, but we gotta be quick!" She said, landing beside the three. She ran to the barrels and grabbed the rope attatched to the top, bringing it over. "One should be able to collapse the enterance."

Ic: Diana glared at him." Now's not the time! Let's just blow this thing up and get outta here!" She said, glaring at Nic. She rolled her eyes at him." K number 1 don't call me that! I'm not trying to be the hero its just--- " She said, wanting to find the right words.

Nic continued to glare at Meg. "'saw' or 'looked through'?" he demanded. His lighter wasn't something he enjoyed people knowing about. It wasn't that it was special in any way-other than to him-but he was just more than a little protective over it. Sentimental value and all that.
Before he could start chastizing Meg for looking through his stuff, he was brought back to the current situation by Sarah and Danny, "Speaking of which-Meg, start climbing or something-you too Danny-and no buts! This isn't a matter of pride, so hurry! Ill follow after once You two are out" his gaze clearly read he wasn't going to be swayed into going first. -

Ic: Diana nodded her head and agreed with Sarah. She was right, they didn't have time to sit and argue. "K. Are you sure you can make it out long enough?" She asked her.
Danny looked over at Nic. She was about to say something but he read her mind dammit she thought to herself, and reluctantly started to climb. There was no reason arguing right now. Even though how much it annoyed her to lose an argument, she for once obeyed.

Nic smiled at Danny, happy she wasn't going to fight, "Yeah, I promise we'll get out alive" He took off his sweater, not caring that he was still bare-chested since he left the pool in a hurry. Giving the sweater to Danny, Nic said, "I dont want this getting any more dirty than it already is-so make sure to give it to me once I get out"

"Yeah, I'll follow too. Promise." She winked . "Plus, Mason and Conner are gonna help y'all out." Sarah said reassuringly.
Mason and Conner both were ready to help the four up when needed.

Ic: Danny blushed a little, and took the sweater and started to climb." I'll keep it clean." She promised. She stopped every once in awhile though to make sure Nic and Sarah were alright. Once she reached the top, she saw Mason and Conner were there to help them get out. She took Mason's hand and pulled herself up

Meg climbed up the rocks almost slipping but didn't fall she was so happy when she reached the surface"Freedom!"she said looking Danny

Nic nodded at Sarah, his gaze narrowed slightly-although no longer with suspicion. He knew he should be scared, and he should have been the first one to volunteer to escape-after all, if he dies, he'd be leaving a lot of money behind too-and there were plenty of stuff he wanted to buy! Then again, that was just it. All those possesions meant nothing to him...Danny and Meg, now they did. It was amazing how fast he'd give his life for two girls he just met. Maybe he really would end up being a hero someday, and not a snotty Northwest.
Watching the two go, Nic dug his own hands into the dirt, looking over his shoulder at Sarah, "okay-light em up" -
Sarah nodded, bitting her lower lip. She brought her finger tip to the rope and it caught fire. "It's our little secret a'ight Nic?" She glance over to him, standing up. "Okay, we got about a minute before it reaches."
"Ahem... you uh. You guys alright?" Mason asked after he pulled the girl up.
"Sorry we couldn't be more of a help, but y'see, y'all need someone to help you up..." conner rubbed the back of his neck. "Me and Mason aren't the best when it comes to anything like that." -

Ic: Danny smiled back at Meg, glad they were safe, but she kept looking down to see if Sarah or Nic were starting to make their way up the wall." Come on come on." She said, and clutched Nic's sweater tight, hoping that he would be okay
She smile at Mason and Conner." No its fine. If you guys weren't here, we'd probably still be stuck in that mine."

Nic blinked, shocked at what she did. He KNEW she was weird! Opened his mouth to say something, but decided against anything rude. Picking up the lighte rhe had thrown at her, Nic waved it teasingly, "Lips sealed-but I did hand you this, you know" he pointed up, "Now hurry and get out, man instincts keep me grounded until all the ladies are safe"
After years of practicing, Nic's feigned confidence was way too difficult to see through.
But inside, he was panicking like a little girl. hurry up! hurry up! -
Meg was started to get even more scaredCome on were are you? she thought looking down the hole still waiting for them to come up
