Clarissa nodded. "Come on Derek." She turned and started looking fr the slaves.

Leon gave Selene a few minutes to cry after the other two left, then softly asked her, "Are you ok? Do you want to go back to the van while they finish up?"
Taking a shaky breath, Selene nodded. She slowly stood with Leon's help, his arm wrapped protectively around her.
Before they could leave, the slave owner angrily cried, "Hey! You can't just leave! Explain yourselves!"
Turning to face the man, Leon snapped, "She's like this because of you. You scarred her for life and you probably don't even remember it."
The confusion on the man's face confirmed Leon's suspicions. "I scarred her for life? I have no idea who she is!"
"She was a child, and she watched you kill her parents! She has been silent for 18 years because of you, and you don't even remember what you did. I doubt you even bothered to learn her name."
The slave owner looked baffled by the accusation, but couldn't deny that he wasn't guilty of something. He may not remember this girl specifically, but he had done many cruel things in the past. Maybe he had done what he was accused of, but after 18 years, he didn't remember much about it.
"Let's get out of here," Leon said gently, turning and leading Selene back to the van to wait for the others. -
Clarissa and Derek gathered up all the slaves, preparing them to be transported to Ishval. As they waited, one approached her slowly. She glanced at him, one eyvrow raised in question. He just stood there, staring at her skeptically with squinty green eyes. "What?" She asked eventually when she couldn't handle the silence anymore. He flinched back, but turned back quickly to glare at her.
"So who are you people, anyway?" He asked.
"Firens. People who don't like the slave trade, and want to help," Clarissa told him.
"I've been a slave my while life. I don't know anything else. How do I know life as a free person is all it's cracked up to be?" He asked.
"I guess you wouldn't know, but I can tell yoy, i've seen both sides of life. You would like being free." He gave an annoyed snort in response. "If you don't believe me, you can stay if you want, I guess."
"Why the heck would I do that? Do you think i'm crazy! Being a slave sucks!" The man exclaimed.
"But you just said you don't know anything else..." Clarissa muttered, now confused.
"Yeah well, I stil wanna try it. Trying something new's fun. If I ever want to come back, they'd willingly let me. These slavers are so generous." He smiled, then walked away, leaving Clarissa to stare after him in confusion. -
Selene curled up in the front seat as everyone began piling into the van, face buried in her arms. After a minute, a familiar voice pulled her out of her brooding, one that she didn't expect.
"Selene? Is that you?"
Looking up in surprise, she saw a middle-aged woman staring back at her curiously. Her face was older than she remembered, but the dark hair and skin were familiar. "Anna?" Her mouth silently formed the name. As the woman nodded, Selene smiled gently, reaching out to hug her old friend tightly.
Noticing her tear streaked face, Anna asked, "Are you alright?"
Selene nodded, wiping away a few tears before writing, I'll be ok.
"Still haven't said a word?" Anna asked, to which Selene responded by shaking her head. Anna sighed sadly. "You poor thing."
Watching curiously after he climbed in the van, Leon asked, "You know each other?"
"Boy, I've known her longer than you have," Anna replied, smiling. "Ever since she was a wee little thing. Her parents were my best friends."
"Then you definitely have known her longer than me," Leon stated, amused at her choice of words. -
Clarissa listened quietly to the conversation, not sure what was going on but content to listen. She couldn't help but smile at Ann's words. She seemed like a pleasant woman, for someone who had been a slave all their life.
-
As Anna took Selene by the hands something caught her attention. "Is this ring what I think it is?" she asked, pulling her hand closer to inspect it.
With a small smile Selene nodded. Leon nodded as well, a crooked smile coming to his face.
"Yep, it's what you think," Leon stated.
"Oh, my goodness!" Anna happily exclaimed. After hugging Selene again, she asked, "When did you get married?"
"A few weeks ago," Leon chuckled.
"I'm so happy for you two!"Ooc: I'll add more later.
-
"Wait." Derek turned to Leon to asked, "So you aren't you boyfriend? You're her... husband?"
-
Chuckling, Leon replied, "Yep. You weren't too far off when you called me her boyfriend earlier."
-
"Woah. Okay then," Clarissa commented. Then she giggled. 'It's kind of funny. You ran off to Xing and got married." Then after a minute, she added, "Well, congrats."
-
"Thanks." Smirking, Leon remarked, "We only went to Xing to lay low and visit someone, but with how things played out, it just happened."
-
"Hey blonde dude! You should stop yacking and start driving already! We're not getting any younger back here!" one of the slaves called from the back of the van. Clarissa recognized the voice of the man who had approached her earlier and rolled her eyes.
-
Leon chuckled and called back, "Can't you see we were having a reunion?" Starting the vehicle and shifting into gear, he drove off, shaking his head.
"Oliver!" Anna chided, "Don't get your pants in a twist. My best friends' daughter got married! A moment of celebration was needed!" -
"Yeah, yeah. While I'm stuck spending my first few minutes of freedom in the back of a van! A stuffy one at that," with that comment, he elbowed the man sitting next to him, causing him to scoot over after giving Oliver an annoyed glare. "Your moment can wait!"
-
Rolling her eyes, Anna huffed, "That man. Never was very pleasant. Or patient, for that matter."
Smiling, Selene sighed and turned back around in her seat, staring thoughtfully out the window as the scenery flew by. Eventually, they made it back to Ishval, realizing that they left Roya in Isfaraeveryone gladly climbing out of the cramped van. -
OOC: XD Poor Roya.
IC:
As they exited the van, Oliver glanced around. "Wait, it's over? I was enjoying the scenery," he complained. Then, completely ignoring everyone else, he wandered off on his own.
"Is he... alright, you know... mentally?" Clarissa wondered out loud. -
"Who knows," Anna shrugged, shaking her head. "I guess if he needs help, he'll find something."
As everyone stretched and looked around, Leon turned to Roya and said, "Now go do your thing, Miss Lodging Finder." -
Clarissa laughed. "Lodging finder?" Then, after a pause, she added, "Oh! I'm going to find Delisa. See you guys there. Come on Derek." Dragging her friend with her, she made her way back to Delisa's house, who was outside doing some yard work(For the heck of it XD) "Hey Delisa! Guess what?" Clarissa called to her.
The Ishvalan looked up from her work, smiling. "What?" she asked.
"I just found out something you won't believe. Apparently, Leon and Selene got married while they were in Xing," Clarissa told her.
"Oh, I already knew that."
Clarissa paused, surprised. "How?"
Delisa laughed. "We are friends, you know. She told me. Besides, if she hadn't, I would have noticed the rings. I'm surprised you didn't. It seems everyone else keeps noticing."
Clarissa shrugged. "I guess I'm just clueless." -
Roya gestured for the freed slaves to follow her and said, "I'll show you where you can stay since I've apparently been designated the 'lodging finder'."
Derek stumbled a little as Clarissa dragged him.
He commented, "I guess I'm clueless too, because I thought they were just dating." -
Before following Roya, Anna gave Selene another tight hug and said, "Thank you for everything. I'm happy that you found love. Keep in touch."
Selene nodded and smiled softly as Anna walked away. With his arm around her shoulders and hers around his waist, she and Leon walked back to Delisa's house, not surprised to find the others outside. -
OOC: What are we going to do next?
IC:
"Hey, you guys finally caught up," Derek said, noticing Selene and Leon approach.
