  • He was silent for a moment, surprised. Angrily, he argued, "So you're saying I'm just not good enough? Even Anzhela is better than me?(He's probably looking down on her a little cuz she doesn't really contribute a lot...He's probably better off than she is) Alchemy hasn't stopped you guys from getting hurt or nearly killed before!"

  • Clarissa sighed again. "I knew you'd take it that way," she grumbled. "No, I don't think Anzelah's a better fighter than you. She's staying behind too." She wasn't sure of this, but she would bring it up with Joan when she texted her later. It was probably a good idea the drachman stayed out of the fight. "And the fact that I've almost died even though I can use alchemy only proves my point. The homunculi were bad enough, we have no idea what this father guy's going to be like."

  • "I don't know much about him," Leon began, "But I know that he can make chimeras. That's why there are chimera in the sewers. They are used like guards to help keep the tunnels hidden."

  • "Chimeras like Trent and Diana too," Derek pointed out. "They were kidnapped and turned into chimeras by alchemists and then sold into slavery. Maybe he just hires alchemists to do it for him. You can't be so sure he does it himself."

OOC: Father dude (still needs a name. I want it to be Chinese cuz we use Japanese ones a lot) may not be an alchemist, but he can fight. He was once a prince of Xing. He'll know a thing or two. And he uses a philosopher's stone to keep himself young. So he has all the experience of an older guy like Katashi, and the energy of a younger guy like Jian.

  • "I don't see how that justifies leaving me out of everything!" He argued. "I want to help. I can fight and defend myself."

  • "You. Are. Staying. I don't care what you say, I don't care if it doesn't make any sense to you, because it makes sense to me, so it makes sense. You're staying, even if I have to lock you in a box to get you to!" Clarissa yelled.
He narrowed his eyes and said slowly, "You wouldn't dare."
"Oh yes I would!" Clarissa threatened.
"No you wouldn't. How would I get out? I'd starve to death," Derek pointed out.
Clarissa looked a bit insulted, hardly able to believe he thought she was that stupid. Making a dramatic show of pulling the glove out of her pocket and shoving it on, she quickly transmuted an iron-barred cage around him. "Maybe you should have thought about that before you decided to be a jerk about this." Then, realizing she hadn't added a way for him to get out, she added a lock to the door and transmuted a key. Turning to Delisa, she handed her the key. "Here. Don't let him out until I'm gone. And don't give him money either, he'll just follow me. I'll be back for him later." As an after thought, she added, "If he doesn't hate me."
Recovering from the initial shock of suddenly being trapped in a cage, he pounded on the bars and shouted, "Clarissa! Let me out!"
Clarissa ignored him, storming into the house. Delisa stared after her, and then looked to the key in her hand and sighed. "Why did I have to get dragged into this?" she muttered. Realizing it was kind of cruel to leave him out there alone, she sat down near the cage to wait.
Once Clarissa left, he turned to Delisa, "Hey, let me out. I don't care if she doesn't want me to risk my life, it's my choice to make. This isn't fair."
Delisa nodded slowly. "I agree... but I don't want her mad at me, so... sorry. You're going to have to wait until she leaves. I may let you out a little early to try to catch the train, but that's it."
He folded his arms angrily and leaned against the bars of the cars before sliding to the ground. When Delisa let him out, he was going to book it to the train station as quickly as he could. He didn't care if Clarissa didn't want him to go.

  • Forcing herself to calm down a bit, she replied, "As soon as possible. I don't want to be late." Mentally, she added, And I don't want to leave Derek in there for very long.

  • "Ok. So either we wait an hour or two for a train, or we just take the van and drive there ourselves," Leon stated. "If you're in such a hurry, I suggest we drive."

  • OOC: XD I completely forgot about her. I don't know where she ended up. Maybe she went to the bathroom.

IC: "I'm here," Laura announced, walking in the room from a side hallway. "So are we leaving now?"

  • "I guess we pile into the van once we collect whatever we're taking," Leon stated, turning to head outside with Selene.
When they got outside, they were surprised to find Derek in a cage and Delisa sitting next to it with a key in her hand.

  • "What happened here?" Laura asked in bewilderment. "Clarissa, why is Derek locked in a cage?"

  • Clarissa shrugged, as if it was nothing, but she couldn't help but feel nervous under their scrutiny. She was suddenly realizing how bad it looked that she had just locked him in a cage and left him there. "He was being a jerk. It was the easiest solution."

OOC: It seems somebody needs to have that whole, "With great power comes great responsibility" conversation with a certain strong headed 14 year old xD

  • "Well, it seemed like a good idea at the time," Clarissa huffed. "What else was I supposed to do?" she added as an afterthought, immediately regretting the words, thinking they would probably cause some sort of long debate she really didn't want to get into. "Look, we need to go. Delisa has a key. She can let him out when we're gone."
