  • Here we can write side stories so we don't get confused with the RP.

Background: Selene and Leon are staying in Ishval with Delisa, Takara, and Roya, and are teaching Clarissa, Derek, and Laura sign language, as well as having a few adventures of their own.

IC: After seeing the others off, those who were staying in Ishval headed back to Delisa's house.

  • OOC: So what do we plan on doing first? It's gonna be difficult to remember this is not either of the rps.

  • Ooc: We can start with a little lesson or something, then they get the idea to free slaves from slave owners in the area.

  • We can start now if you would like to, Selene wrote with a smile.

Ooc: It's almost weird not having her talk again. XD

  • OOC: Does Leon know sign language at this point? I didn't think he did...

  • Selene nodded, then proceeded to teach them a few basics to start with. Beginning with the alphabet, soon they were able to start spelling words out. Once they seemed comfortable with that, she began teaching them basic words and phrases, correcting them when they needed help.

  • Clarissa absorbed everything Selene taught her. She got a bit frustrated a couple times, but for the most part, she caught on to the first few signs pretty easily. She figured it would get harder though.

  • Laura seemed to struggle a bit more to pick up on the language, but was managing fairly well so far.

Although Roya hadn't really intended to, she watched and participated in the lessons out of curiosity.

OOC: Eh, if I'm going to involved Roya at all, she might as well drop by for a few lessons... I dunno.

  • Takara also decided to stay for the lesson, planning to rejoin her family afterward. It took her a bit of effort, but she was excited about learning.
Once they had a few basic signs down, Selene decided to teach them how to put sentences together. The grammar was a bit different than Amestrian, so it might take them a bit to get used to it. She noticed Leon caught on quickly, but she had been teaching him a bit longer than she had been teaching the others, so it was expected.

  • Clarissa kept had a hard time with the grammar. She just couldn't seem to remember what order the signs were supposed to come in. Questions were easy enough, but beyond that she wasn't sure.

  • OOC: I hope this isn't all happening in a single lesson. That may be a little too much to take in at once.

    IC:
Laura found the grammar relatively easy, but had a little trouble remembering the correct signs. More than once, she ended up cursing at one of the others by mistake.
Roya picked up signing considerably well, especially since she wasn't present for all the lessons.

  • Ooc: Yeah, we can say it's over several different lessons. Maybe they can have a few martial arts lessons as well.

IC: Selene enjoyed teaching the others and was glad to see that they seemed to enjoy it as well. After a few lessons, Leon offered to give some martial arts lessons to anyone who might be interested as well. Takara happily accepted,...

  • Roya declined.
Laura decided it couldn't hurt. She was wrong. It was very painful.

  • A couple weeks passed, and they all made decent progress in their lessons. Eventually, some of them began feeling like they should do something to free more slaves. They knew crashing auctions wouldn't be the best idea since Selene and Leon were thought to be dead and could be easily recognized, so they would have to come up with some other way.

  • OOC: I guess I'll add more because I can. XP And it will make it easier for you two to reply.

IC: Eventually Leon came up with an idea. "How about if we pay some slave owners a visit on their properties?" he suggested, wanting to get input from the others.
Selene pondered it thoughtfully. There was definitely less risk involved of being recognized, especially if they avoided the slave owners and just helped the slaves escape. She liked the idea, so she nodded and looked around at the others.
