Hadrian shook her head. "Not at all. I miss all the live stock too, the horses, the sheep, the goats!" She sighed, missing the long days she would sit out in the fields taking care of the animals. "I miss Marmalade, the sick goat. She was my favorite and she was slowly getting better, now, I don't know what'll happen to her, the peacekeepers want to kill it because she won't produce milk..." She trailed off, looking up as the man who was one of their mentors entered the dining compartment. She almost leaped out of her seat, gently setting the loaf down. "I-I'm sorry, I didn't know if we could eat or not." She said shyly, a small smile tugged into a frown as he chuckled. He was Justice Cypher, winner of the games. "When we get to the Capitol," He said. "You are going to meet your stylist. Do as he/she tells you, as you know for the opening ceremony, you'll be going around in a chariot dressed in something that represents your district. Until then, we, will discuss your plans for winning the games. After the opening ceremony, you will go train. Try to make allies. Afterward, we'll have dinner and discuss the matter even further, in the morning, you'll have a private session with the gamemakers and show off one of your skills. Back at the quaters, your scores be announced on TV. The next day is the fun part, interviews. You have to make the capital love you, if you want sponsers, Peony, your other mentor will instruct you on what to do before hand. Then, the finall day, the games. Fight to the death, and just hope that you survive. Get it? Got it? Good." Justice said, turning to Dallas, "What do you plan on doing, kid?"

"The Capitol!" Hadrian squealed rushing to the window, beconing Dallas. She waved to the Capitol people, a huge smile on her face.[/fancypost]© » F e a t h e r

  • "Hazen Harvard!", the sound of his name rang in his head. He had already been through the usual tribute run through. His parents had congratulated him, their bright white teeth showing in wide smiles. His older brother Roland, already cheering him on. The district representative, Damian Airless, had given him a pat on the back and had already started telling him about the capital. Hazen was excited. He was going to visit the Capital, meet Creaser, and make his family proud. Even if Roland had already won, Hazen knew he could be just as good. With Hazen on the train, was the female tribute Caitlin, and Hazen's chosen mentor Remus Dappwood. In district two as well as one through four, there were so many victors that tributes would often get to choose their mentors. Remus had also won at thirteen. "Hazen, I am going to do everything I can to help you win. You'll make district two proud." he told Hazen just seconds before. Hazen paced around his room on the train, waiting for the dinner call. He knew he would have no problem with allies. He'd just be with the tributes from one and three. No problem. He had pushed away the thought of death. He couldn't die. Roland and his family were counting on him to win. He couldn't just be the little brother who couldn't live up to his brother's standard of winning.

"Sage Lastlin, female tribute for district seven" the words were impossible to even form on her lips. Sage sat in the bedroom of the train, silent tears streaming down her face. She knew she was going to her death. Sage was not the smartest, even she herself knew that. The last thing she heard from her father, Jasper Lastin was "I love you", even her father knew she riding to her death. Rowan, her older brother, wasn't even eligible to be a tribute anymore. He worked with their father in woods, sawing lumber day by day. If he wasn't nineteen, Sage knew he would've taken her place without question. The only other people in the train with her Spence, the male tribute, her mentor, Lindell Faremen, and the district seven representative, Velvet Monty. Lindell had won fifteen years age at age eighteen, and Sage trusted her with her life. Spence she hadn't met yet. But Velvet she was already fed up with. Velvet was perky and spoke with a high pitched voice and had this strange obsession with he wood exquisite. She had called Sage's hair that as soon as she got on stage. Sage sat on her bed, trying to gather her scattered thoughts. She needed allies. Spence would be the likely choice. Yes, she'd try to befriend him first.

Carter jumped when she heard a knock on her door, she practically jumped through the roof of the train. She had always been cautious to open doors, even back home, for people. When she heard a voice asking to enter her room she froze. She hesitantly cracked open the door and peeked through the gap. When she peeked she saw a older boy who she somewhat recognized, she then realized that it was the other tribute for district twelve, she had seen him back in the district a couple times before the reaping. "O-Oh, of course... Come in." She opened the door for him to enter the room.

  • Cassie watched out the window to the Capitol looming up in front of her once again. She couldn't resist it anymore, so she stood up and went to the window. As she watched, crowds of people thickened and grew closer until they were right outside my passing window. They were all smiling and waving, jumping up and down and failing to contain their excitement. When they saw her, they cheered loudly which caused her to shrink back slightly. Jacob's words flashed in her mind and she wondered if she should do something. She approached the window once more and smiled tightly at them before lifting her hand in a wave.

  • "Great. I can't wait." Dallas said coldly. "I have always wanted to be interviewed on live TV and make a fool of myself. Like, it's my biggest fear." He forgot about the interviews, and was not pleased. He would rather listen to others interviews, get an idea of there strengths and weaknesses. But instead HE had to talk to all of Pamen, which was bad.

  • Finn walked through the hesitantly opened door. He could tell from her manner, she was terrified. Finn had that gift. He could tell what people were feeling. He knew how to recognize the signs of distress, sadness, and pretty much any other emotion. He could tell from everything Carter did that she was just as scared about these games as he was. He felt very bad for her because she was so young. No child should have to go through this. He felt it was his job to protect her, even if she didn't want him to, he knew he would be looking out for her in the arena.
"How are you holding up?" he asked her, staring in her round, hazel eyes. They held so much fear. He knew she was trying to hide it though.

Jax Spectral sat on the train. He didn't want to talk to anybody, not that anyone had tried or anything. All he could think about was the reaping, how his name had been called. When you get called, it seems like the world is at a stand-still. Even at seventeen, Jax felt as small as a fly up on the stage. The girl from his district, Judith, was only twelve, but being the only known tribute she seemed like she could kill him with her eyes closed. He snapped back into reality Well, at least I'm an only child, he thought. No people to get hurt when I die. He was suddenly back at the reaping. A girl a year younger than him had fallen to her knees when he was called. Larkavia, she'll get hurt when I die, he thought. Larkavia had been his best friend since first grade, and now she found out that he's dying. Perfect, he thought.

  • Mandy brushed her hair out of her face, revealing her tear-stained face. Why did she need to be picked? Her brother, her Mom, they would starve with out her providing for them. She HAD too win, or her family would lose. She squeezed her eyes shut to block the tears. She would be strong, be strong for them. She would be brave, die fighting, even if she lost.

And it has to be a Quarter Quell, Jax thought bitterly. He attempted to hold back the tears, but couldn't. He leaned forwards in his seat and buried his face in his hands. Larkavia and he always used to joke about being picked, and now it was a reality. He had to put all of that behind him. He wasn't some stupid school-boy anymore. He was a tribute. And that meant that he couldn't think about Lark anymore. He had to think about winning.

  • Seth kept staring outside the window, revealing the beautiful sight of the passing Capitol. It was large, very large. Tall buildings loomed above, and he couldn't help but remember district 11, where he had just left. His district was nowhere as elegant looking. Everything about the city was official and pretty. He watched as the train got closer, feeling a hint of excitement of entering the city, starting his training, that sort of thing. He sat back, and let out a breath he didn't know he'd been holding in. I'm ready for this, he thought, I am ready for the games.

Jax stared out his window, taking in all the sights. What about allies? I'll need some of those. What about the careers? Do they count? Would I count as one? all the questions flew through Jax's head. He sat alone in the room. He had wondered if he should of gone to see his mentor. Or Judith for that matter, but he had decided against it. HE stood up and paced back and forth in the train car. Hundreds of questions raced through his head. He ran his hand worriedly through his bleach blonde hair. You can do this, he though to himself.

Hadrian half turned from the window. "It won't be that bad, will it?" She asked, "Just answer Ceaser's question in the most charming way. Make the crowd laugh, get sponsors, and then fight to the death. Easier said than done."

Justice looked at Dallas, "Do what shortie's doing," He said, with a jerk of his head towards Hadrian. "Wave to the capitol with a big smile on your face, look like you want to be here. They want to think that you do."

Spense stared at the ceiling with a blank expression, every now and then repositioning himself. He had gotten changed into a t-shirt and jeans, but still sat, wondering what would happen to him. He wasn't going to win. That was for sure. He hoped that one of the little girls would win, be the youngest victor to win. Ever. He sighed and sat up, looking around is fancy train room.[/fancypost]© » F e a t h e r

  • Hazen heard the bell sound and he went to dinner. He sat by Remus on his left. Damian was at the head of the table. The capital was visible outside the window as they got closer "Almost there. Don't worry. You have time to eat.". Damian said, shoving food in his mouth as he finished. Hazen poked at his food, only eating a piece or two. The capital got closer as they ate, Hazen beginning to pick out details, including the screams of people on the station platform. "You've seen the past years yes? Remember, smiles and act excited. The people like that." Remus told him as he caught Hazen looking out the window at some of the beginning crowds.

Sage needed to ally herself. She decide on Spence. she wiped the tears off her face, and changed from her plain red dress into a silky long sleeved shit and black pants. The fabric was extremely soft as Sage left her room and made her way nervously to Spence's. She knocked on the door, not even sure what she was going to say. "Spence--"Sage started, she wanted to say "I'm scared" but what would he think of her then. A helpless dumb girl from district seven. '--can I talk to you?" she finally said.

Judith thought maybe she'd feel better if she talked to others. She stood slowly and stepped around the train car. She stretched a bit. She thought about wandering into another car. But she wasn't sure she could. In the end she just sat back down. "Can I do this? Maybe I can just escape. Or become part of the arena. Be a squirrel. Nah I can't do that." She thought. Judith sighed and turned back to the window

What would make Jax feel better? Pulling a prank of course! He looked around the train car for something to use. Maybe these two mirrors? No. The rope. Maybe. He smirked as he grabbed the rope that happened to be in the train car. He crawled over to the door of the next car. Jax carefully knotted the rope around the handle that would open to the next compartment. He knew that when he had boarded the train, that Judith had gone to that car. He went back to his seat, which was hidden by a wall, and yanked the rope to open the door.

  • Caitlin jumps slightly at the sound of the dinner bell. She unfolds her body, stretching out her legs and arms. She quickly steps into the rooms bathroom, finding her naturally white hair in a tangled mess. With a sigh she grabs a brush and runs it through her hair in an attempt to smooth it out. After doing the best she could, Caitlin sets down the brush and exits her room, heading for where dinner is served. Only to find the other tribute, the capital representative and their mentor already there. She recognizes the mentor, Remus, from the Victor village. She quickly heads to a seat, drawing her knees up to her chest after sitting down. Her blue-gray eyes flickered between the three guys for a second before leaning forward to starting eating some of her food.
