    As he waited Nightwind thought he heard a kit. Probably my imagination, I didn't sleep well last night.

    Smokestar flicked his ears and walked up to the medicine cat apprentice. "I'll come with you, I was going to go on a walk anyway. This way my walk can be useful." He chuckled lightly.


    Bearheart spotted the fresh kill pile and grabbed a small crab. She licked her lips and began munching on the prey.


    Honeykit bounced out of the nursery, she then suddenly crouched and stalked towards the warriors den. She had never been in there, what an adventure this would make! She flattened her ears and slowly crept closer and closer.


    Thornkit watched as his sister tried to sneak into the warriors den. His paws itched to go along with her, but after he was so rude earlier he knew it would be awkward. The kit finally gave up and quickly caught up to her. Silently, they made their way to the den.

She bounded forward, calling out louder, "Hello? Is anyone there?"

    Nightwind nodded with a smile. "Sure, that would be good thanks.", he said. Wow, he had the leader with him on this herb gathering. He was excited and nervous at the same time. He didn't want to make a fool out of himself in front of his leader. But was that even possible? All he was doing was collecting herbs. "I'm ready when you are Smokedstar.", he said getting to his paws.

She slowly padded inside, until the tunnel opened up into a large cave. She looked around with wide eyes, until she spotted several cats. "He-hello?" She asked, for about the fifth time today.

    Nightwind heard the kit this time. He padded away towards her. He finally saw the kit. He approached slowly so he wouldn't scare her. "Hello, are you hurt?", he asked, he medical sense coming over him. A alone kit wasn't good.

At first she didn't know what to say, but she spoke up, "N-no I'm fine. I just don't know where I am.."

    Aloeheart turned away from her duties and headed slowly padded over to her apprentice. "Is everything alright?" She asked Nightwind. Her soft green eyes concentrated on the little kit.

    Nightwind nodded to his mentor. "Hello Lost.", he said softly. Speaking to Aloeheart, he said, "She appears to be alone, I don't see any injuries on her. Maybe you could check her out while I'm out getting herbs with Smokestar.", he suggested. If she had any injuries, his mentor's experience as medical cat could find and treat them.

    The leader padded up to the poor kit. He agreed with Nightwind, nodding his head he turned to Aloeheart. "Keep her with you until we get back." The kit seemed scared, Lost would hopefully be comforted by the kind medicine cat. Smokestar flicked his tail, motioning for Nightwind to follow as he made his way out of the camp.

    Nightwind followed the leader outside of camp and began to look for borage. He then realized he should probably tell him what he was searching for. "Aloeheart wants me to collect Borage and Lavender, just so you know.", he said. He wasn't sure how much herbs Smokestar even knew and if he would recognize them.

    Nightwind began to search for Borage. He began to search around the plants. He scented the air after a few minutes seeing it was eluding him. He finally detected it down the hill from where he and Smokestar was. As he descended he didn't see a hole in the ground. He stepped in it and lost his balance, then started to tumble down the hill before stopping before a tree. Just wonderful, of all the cats he had to fall in front of, it had to be the leader! Now he would probably think he was a klutz! Oh well. At least the borage was now a few pawsteps away.

    Smokestar bounded after Nightwind as he tumbled down. "Are you alright?" He called, laughter escaped him when he saw that the apprentice was fine. That must have been embarrassing falling infront of your leader like that though.


    Honeykit spotted a kit that she had never seen before. She sprinted out of the warriors den, leaving her brother behind. A new friend?! She excitedly thought to herself. Just the thought of having someone new to play with made her want to jump with joy. She slowed down as she neared Lost.


    Bearheart finished her meal and glanced up, what was with all of the commotion over there? She noticed Honeykit sprint towards the small crowd of cats that was forming and decided to follow.

    Nightwind got to his paws and shook the leaves that had stuck to his fur. He naturally reddened being a bit embarrassed. But it was alright couple more feet and he would have slammed into a tree, that would have hurt alot. After getting back his composure he answered. "Yea...yea I'm fine, didn't see a hole and it tripped me up. Least I am near the borage.", he meows. He grabbed the borage and put it in his satchel. He licked some of his fur to smooth it and looked at Smokestar.
