Rainpaw rushed up to her mentor in fast excitement she was nearly tripping over her own paws. "I hope you haven't waited long, Featherwhisker."

"I havent waited long at all little one" Featherwisker mewed."Let's get started! what do you want to learn?''

"Hunting skills?" Rainpaw purred inquisitively as she stretched out her muscles.

"OK! lets see your hunting crouch." said featherwisker

Rainpaw slowly sets herself into a low position on the ground. The grass is tickling her nose, and she scrunched her face up to stop a sneeze. "Darn grass," She mews gruffly.

"Its OK Rainpaw it happens to everyone, that's good! Now lets see how good your balance is." Featherwisker nudged Rainpaw to see her reaction.

Rainpaw felt herself struggle to keep balance, but someone managed to sturdy herself.

"Here is the key darling you need to square your paws! like this.." Featherwisker took a perfect hunters crouch and said," now you try to push me."

Rainpaw tries to nudge Featherwhisper over.

Featherwisker didn't move an inch...

Rainpaw nods,"Let me try?" She mewed.

(You would go "nodded")
"OK!"

(I know, I'm sorry.)
Rainpaw stood in the crouching stance that Featherwhisker showed her. "How is this?"

"Let's see!" said Featherwisker as she nudged her again.

Rainpaw did not even budge an inch this time.

"You got it!" said Featherwisker,"now lets see you pounce."

Rainpaw saw a leaf fall from a tree, and she had decided to use that as her "prey". She rocked back onto her back haunches slightly and then used them to pounce. She landed on the leaf, forepaws first. She also had landed with a lot of grace and swiftness.

"see the diffrince? it is great! now try a real mouse."

Rainpaw opened her mouth and scented the air. She smelled a mouse rustling in the grass to her right. She crouched down and crept close enough to the mouse as needed. Then she rocked back onto her haunches and then pounced. She landed on the mouse. She picked up the mouse and carried it to Featherwhisker.
