Snow whipped across Tornleaf's face, leaving white specks littered about his pelt. The cold and wind nipped at him as he squinted to keep snow out of his noble violet eyes. He slowly rose from his spot on the fringe of the entrance of the warrior den, mentally preparing himself to go hunting. He detested hunting in leafbare, solely because of sitting there waiting for prey to finally pass by. Tornleaf lashed his tail in exasperation towards sitting outside in the bitter cold.

DreamMist stretched and padded out the warrior den, her brother Shadestorm behind her. She sat by the entrance and watched as Shadestorm poked his head in the nursery to check on his mate, Jaysong and their kits. She sighed, her bright cerulean blue eyes darted around as the snow fell. She remembered how much she loved it as a kit but now it was just a bother as a Warrior. Her white and silver pelt, glittered as the snow fell. DreamMist looked at the freshkill pile before standing up and padding out the camp to begin her hunt.

The dark gray bundle of fur tumbled out onto the snow-covered landscape, tabby stripes blurred by the white. The apprentice's ice blue eyes were bulging with joy; she absolutely loved leaf-bare! Sure, there was shortage of prey, sickness, and grudges to be held with the Clans, but if you passed all that, leaf-bare could be beautiful! Eclipsepaw liked to see things from a positive angle, unlike the pessimists of the world.
The bright ginger pelt was very noticeable among all the white. Her tabby stripes, being a darker orange, stuck out a bit more than usual, while her white paws and tail-tip seemed to be forever covered in snow. Her emerald eyes were alight as she watched the newborn kits scamper around in this new environment. Emberwing had always envied the young ones; they got to play for six moons before they went on to other duties as apprentices. The she-cat remembered her kit years fondly; she and her brother would pelt each other with clumps of snow as it rained down from the sky.

Tornleaf collected his strength and hoisted his body upwards. He trotted by Eclipsepaw, giving a small smile as the ginger apprentice embraced the beauty of snow. Tornleaf then passed by what was left of the fresh kill pile. Picking up his pace, he started heading towards the tranquil, snow-covered forest. Once entered, the aging black tomcat stumbled upon a fair sized hole in a tree. Tornleaf unsheathed his claws, preparing to cling onto the bark. Soon, he arrived at the entrance of the hole. He peered in, his good ear and both his eyes listening and watching for a squirrel or bird. Carefully, Tornleaf climbed down into the crevice in the tree. He continued to listen and watch while feeling around with his paws. “There's gotta be SOMETHING in here,“ he grunted irritably. Tornleaf wasn't known for always being in the best of moods. He sniffed the air for prey with anticipation. Suddenly, the angle of the sunlight shown right in. Not to much benefit, for there was no living thing in the hole except for Tornleaf.

Asterpaw staggered out of the apprentices' den, blinking against the snow. She fluffed her white and cream tabby pelt out against the cold as a freezing wind blew through the camp. The falling snow muffled the sounds of the surrounding forest. I wonder how much prey we'll be able to catch today, she thought, glancing around at her surroundings.
-
DreamMist looked around, being nearly invisible because of her white and silver pelt. The only thing that gave her away was her bright cerulean blue eyes that stood out in the snow. She looked around the forest, unmoving as she looked and listened for any movement that could be prey.

Slatepelt silently padded through the snowy forest, his amber eyes narrowed to keep out the snow. He had been out hunting when the snow started to get worse. He took another step forward, nearly getting blown backwards by the cold wind. I'm going to get turned into an icicle! he thought, almost laughing at the thought of him as a block of ice. Not wanting to give up hunting yet, he hid in a sheltered spot under some low branches of a pine tree and waited for any sign of prey.
