"i-i mean i, ah, i discovered elemental powers. yeah, that's right." he gave his refleftion an encouraging grin. he had replaced his usual blue bandanna with a bow tie, and had slicked down his russet pelt - save a small curl on his forehead. the outrider exited his room and walked with his head high, approaching the female's room. "hope you don't mind heights."

    Barium's grinned widened as they continued on, glancing up at the ferris wheel as they neared it. "Wow..." she mewed, awed. It was so tall! How did two-legs even build something like that? She followed Jay to the cart, eyes sparkling. This was just so.... "Amazing..." she hadn't even realized she said it out loud. She snapped out of her thoughts, offering him a sheepish smile. "I-I don't mind."

    Barium listened patiently, though she was beginning to grow fed up with all the stories. Yeah, they sounded awesome and all, but c'mon. This was Jay. Being a nervous wreck was sort of his thing. But she wouldn't speak against it, even though it was like he was just trying to impress her.

    "so one day .. you're still listening, right? are you ok? y-you seem a little distant." jay had no idea his stories were boring her. he honestly loved talking about himself, even if the stories were either made up or exaggerated. when he thought he heard her go 'mm-hm' or something of the sort, he was instantly talking again. they were nearing the ground again; suddenly, the ride came to a groaning halt. jay shut up long enough to look over the edge of the ride, at the control panel below. "what's the hold-up?" there seemed to be a cat on the controls. electricity flew from his russet fur.

    Barium jerked out of her thoughts when he stopped for a moment before growing a little distant once more as he continued. Well, this was wonderful. She snapped her head around as the cart stopped, even more uneased as Jay was bewildered too. "W-What's going on?" she asked, looking down at the control panel like the russet male. Who the heck was that? Her fur prickled, partly of fear and unease, partly because of the electricity coming from Jay's pelt.

"he's not from hawkclan. let me take care of him." he held up a paw, electricity jumping off of it in sparks. suddenly, a voice could be heard from above the pair. "sorry, lovebirds. date's over." before he had time to react, jay was hit over the back of the head with something large. the attacker attempted to do that same to barium, hoping to knock the pair out.

    jay woke up in a dark marsh clearing. pine trees shot high above his head, and the ground below him was wet and cold. he groaned, head throbbing, and sat up. the chains around his legs jingled, and he looked back to find himself chained to a huge boulder. barium lay next to him. an old temple, mostly rubble, sat in front of the pair, and the place was crawling with mean-looking animals. "this does not look good," he breathed to himself, looking around.


    "you're awake, eh, sparky?" jay looked up to find a mountain lion smirking down at him. he flattened his ears. "look, what do you want with us? just let us go." "no way, the boss'll he excited when he sees we got a pair of birdies." jay sighed and sank downward, giving up on trying to break the chains. there were about six guards around them anyway. he looked over at barium.
