    Why should I make friends?
Everyone I've ever known is gone...

The forest was pitch black without the relieving light of the moon it seemed more eerie than usual. You could only see vague outlines of the trees and bushes. The still silence was suddenly broken by footsteps, that seemed to stumble. The forest wildlife wasn't alone.

A girl, who looked to be about 18, walked through the forest. Her icy blue eyes stared blindly around. Her breathing was rough and rapid. Her black hair was cropped short a little bit above her shoulders, it was disheveled and drenched with sweat.

Her stomach seemed to churn as she remembered what she'd just witnessed. They would be coming for her next... She whimpered as she collapsed. She curled up on her side shuddering uncontrollably as she whimpered again. "D-Don't kill anymore please..."

Another shudder rippled through her as a flash of memory seared through her mind. The memories kept coming back and she wanted them to stop.

  • [align=center]"Hello?"
A small voice cried out through the hallways of trees, a little girl in a muddy white gown was sneaking from tree to tree tears streaking her face. She had three gashes down her left arm, and it was still bleeding badly.
    "Hello? Please, I need help!"
She said, her brown eyes searching through the trees. Her dark brown eyes rested on the girl, she gasped and ran forward her short dirty wings streaming after her.
    "A-Are you OK?"
She asked, stopping five feet away from the girl.

The girl jumped at the voice that came in the frozen silence. She could see the other girl in the darkness. "N-No... don't come any closer. They'll find you too," she said frantically trying to sit up. Her thoughts seemed to dart back.

The memories flooded back into her mind. The memories of her flock and the last images of them being slaughtered in front of her by bloodthirsty Erasers. They didn't let her escape, but they made her watch as they ripped them apart.

Her stomach churned again at the gory images seared into her mind. She suddenly vomited on the ground as she sat up. Her whole frame was trembling as she shook her head in a short, quick movement. She panted quietly.

  • The girl stared at the other winged girl as she vomited, her eyes wide with concern. She looked down at her three scars,
    "They've been after me anyway..."
She said quietly, sitting down on the ground. Her brown eyes still resting on the girl, she could still feel the searing pain of the gash of the Eraser's claws, but from what she gathered, this girl had been through a lot worse.

The girl wiped her mouth as she shut her eyes. She nodded to the other girl as she tried to compose herself, but it was hard when her mind kept traveling back at to the gory images of her slaughtered flock.

She noticed the three gashes on her arm. Despite her current physical state she asked, "Are you alright?" she asked weakly as she wiped the sweat from her forehead. She leaned back against one of the trees.

  • A boy, around 17ish was walking through the forest, litterally invisible. He heard the girls, and his feet carried him to them. "Hello." The words escaped from his lips and danced through the air, sounding old fashioned and gentleman-like. He blinked and his body became visible, slowly from his feet up. First were his black converses and then dark blackish jeans. His black button down shirt came next, none of the buttons fastened and his bare chest showing, a six-pack abs and pale skin. His face was simple, taut jaw, sunken cheeks with big "model-like" cheekbones. His lips were a straight line, barely pink and more of a burgandy color. His eyes were hazel, and when you looked into them, they turned into a stormy, churning ocean. His hair was slightly curly, messy and black. His full appearence was enough to make any girl swoon, and his eyes moved back and forth between the two girls.

  • "Eraser."
The girl said, glaring at the boy. Any guy or girl that looked like that, she always assumed them as a Eraser. Most of the time she got it right, but then, you could never be too sure. She got to her feet, taking a step forward.

The girl nodded and heard a noise, which was just the wind brushing against the bushes, but it was enough to make her turn her head quickly around as if she thought an eraser was close by. She got shakily to her feet.

"I need to get out of here," she said quickly not liking the eerie silence of the forest. It made her think too strongly that there were Erasers after her right at this moment. She didn't want anyone else near her.

"They'll kill you too if I stay...." she said and then her eyes seemed to roll back into her head and she collapsed again.

  • "my name is Nick. And eraser? I think not." He said. A smirk placed itself on Nicks lips as he rolled his shoulders twice and unfurled a pair of black wings, 17 foot wingspan. He saw the girl collapse and went down on his knees, staring at her face "Are you okay?" he asked.

The girl's mind was hazy as she suddenly slipped into unconsciousness. She wasn't aware that Nick had asked her if she was okay. She'd been running on adrenaline most of the time she'd been walking. She was drained, succumbing to shock. She'd passed out.

  • "Apparently not."
The girl said, slowly walking over to the girl's side. She sat down next to her, putting a small warm hand on the girl, her big brown eyes wide with concern. She must've been through what I have gone through... She thought, wondering what she could do to help.

  • Nick sighed and brushed the hair out of the girls face, a frown across his lips. He pressed the back of his hand on her forehead, "Shes got a fever, and shes out cold." He stated pulled in wings back in which caused a short burst of air around him. He bent down and picked her up easily, and started walking in the direction he came from.

The girl was barely aware of Nick's hand on her forehead. She was limp in his arms as he picked her up. Her breathing was labored and slow. Her heart beat had increased a bit, but that was only from the leftover panic she'd felt a few minutes ago while she was awake. She shuddered slightly in her unconscious state.

  • "Yeah, cause that makes all kinds of since!"
The girl shouted, throwing her hands up. She stared off to where Nick was starting to walk off, a frown on her face.
    "HEY! WAIT UP!"
    She said, dashing after him.

  • Max limped through the forest in human form. She picked up a yell and started toward it. She was an eraser, but she had rebelled...Her sister had been an Avian, but was killed by the scientists because she wasn't 'of use' to them anymore. Max had caused a fight, and earned a gunshot wound in her leg because of it. She had run, or rather flown away. She was the only female winged eraser that could actually fly like an avian.

The girl could feel the swaying movement of Nick's walk. She barely came out of her unconscious state. She groaned quietly trying to figure out where she was. She blinked groggily still feeling light-headed. "Wh... Where are you taking me?" she asked tiredly.

  • "Cave." Nick replied, barely glancing down at her. "Which we will be at, momentarily."

  • "Hello?", Max called out into the darkening forest. She really didn't want to spend the night alone. "Can someone help me?", she said, quieter this time. Silent tears started streaming down her face. Her leg hurt like hell, the bullet had gone across the front of her leg, skimming across it, but it had taken off enough flesh that a white piece of bone barely showed.

  • Nick reached the cave, about the size of an average bedroom. It had a small cot in one corner and a crackling fire in the middle. There was a stack of blankets on the side and Nick sat the girl down on the cot. "Be right back." He mumbled, and walked out the entrance, following the voice. "Hello???" he called out.

  • Max was relieved to have an answer. She started going towards the voice. "I need help.", she called out. She winced and wiped the tears from her face.
