  • Backstory on Karmin

Karmin is a regualr teenager. Good friends. Bad enemies. Hangs out; good social life. Of course, that's what causes all the trouble. One moment she's out with friends, but the next.... Her friends look over to see a 200lb tigress sitting beside them in a movie theatre as they watch Jumanji.
Meet Karmin. Nice kid, but until recently, a secret shapeshifter. Problem is, she can't control it. She was orphaned, and she pretty much knows the reason why. If that's not enough to want to run away and live her own life from prejudice, what else could it be?
Of course, after the theatre, things went completely wrong. Not only did she get out of the theatre, but she ran right into animal control and got tranquilized. All as a tiger and she didn't wake up until they were going to put her in the zoo with other tigers. So what did she do? She changed back to human. Caused a heartattack for the keeper, no doubt.
Couls you believe that that wasn't even the worst of it? Now the government is coming for her. But this isn't the government, no, these men in black suits are above the government. They keep the shapeshifters a secret from the nation to experiment on them. Since the cold war, they've been set on making the ultimate weapon.
But Karmin doesn't know this. YOUR CHARACTER doesn't tell her any of that. Instead, YOUR CHARACTER will convince her that they will take care of her. That she'll be free to do as she wishes. After all, YOUR CHARACTER is one of those men in suits. And he has a job to do, no matter how... Uncomfortable Karmin might find it.

    IC-
Karmin waited in the lobby of the animal center at the zoo. After the initial shock of finding out that she was in fact the tiger, then came the realization to the caretaker that she was, in fact, naked. Now she pulled the larger blanket close to her body, since all her clothes had been ripped in the theatre. She frowned, watching security guards patrol around. They had called her in to... Someone, and since then the small bits of conversation she caught were strange. But she understood that she was to wait for these people. These... Mystery men.

  • Beckett stood outside of the animal control office, a cigarette lit dangled in his mouth. Pulling it from his mouth he took a long drag and put the cigarette out and threw it on the ground smashing it as he heard his name. Popping a mint into his mouth he straightened the black tie that matches the black suit he was wearing. Everything black except a light grey button down shirt that the tie lay on. Going into the office and seeing her there he stopped and seeing all she was basically wearing was a blanket he called to the staff and they gathered some clothes that should fit her.

  • Karmin blinked, looking up in the direction of the talking. She saw people moving about and one man just staying still. She paused, then began to feel very embarrased and exposed with such little covering her with that man in the room. She could tell he was looking right at her.
"Oh, um...." She tried to speak, finding the silence between the two of them awkward but still not knowing exactly what to say.

  • Handing her the stack of clothes he opened another door in the office to reveal a bathroom and a quite cozy but nice one at that. "How about we get you into something more comfortable than a blanket." Once she entered the bathroom Beckett went over to the chair next to the computer desk and typed up his log in and made a submission sheet for her.

  • Karmin was in a slight daze as she was ushered into the bathroom and stood just behind the door with the pile of clothes in her hands for a good minute or two before changing. She blinked in confusion. Who was this person? Was he here for her for some reason? Oh, how silly of her, it must be because she had shape shifted undoubtedly.
She hesitantly pushed open the door after she was dressed. "Um.... hi...?" she said, tilting her head like a confused animal. "Um... Who are you?"

  • "Sit, please." Beckett said ushering to the seat across from him. Once she sat down his placed his hands together and sat up straight looking at her. "You probably know why I'm here..." Standing up he closed the outside door and looked at her as he paced the room. Opening a folder he held in his hand. "At 3:30 pm today you shifted into a tiger in the middle of a movie. OF course this isn't exactly what you would think is normal but your wrong. Setting the case on the table and going back to the desk he sat down. "You're not alone. There are thousands of people like you in America alone! And That's where I come in, I work at a placed in the Key Islands of California for people like you. There we teach you how to control your powers and you could say even use them to your advantage. And with your permission I would like to take you there so we can help you."

  • Karmin looked dumb-founded. "There are... more people like me?" she said. She had never really thought of the possibility. It just had only been a fleeting hope. She thought now that maybe there were others who could help her to control the beast inside. "You want to take me to them?" she smiled softly looking up at him. She felt like this was the happiest day of her life. "Yes... yes please take me. I want to learn how to control this change. I don't want to hurt people, or scare them away from me."

  • Beckett smiled and said, "Would you like to go to your house and get some clothes? I mean you get a little shopping spree on us but some people want to grab some stuff before we head out." He smiled and finished filling out the submission form and sent it to the head director by email and then turning off the computer he opened the door.

  • She smiled, then looked down and sighed. Karmin shook her head, brown hair swaying back and forth. "heh.... no... no I think we can just go. my friends have probably... well, I'm sure they've told my parents. Maybe the police. I don't want to be sucked into that whirlwind of trouble." She hunched over for a bit, then raised her head. "Please take me to this place. I don't want to feel so alone anymore."

  • Beckett smiled and knowing what she had felt at one time in his life he hugged her softly and said, "Trust me, this place will make you feel better." Leading her out to the parking lot a parked Jet sat there, "Your chariot awaits." Then climbing the stairs before her he made sure the maid type people handed her clothes that would be her size and what she would wear. "Thought those might be more comfortable." Sitting in one of the chairs he grabbed a beer from the cart and popped it open taking a long sip.

  • OOC- wow. A jet in a parking lot. He's got style.

IC- karmin took the clothes and set down in a chair. She looked over the clothes and turned them around As she inspected them. "Wow. I'm surprised that you already had something in my size," she said softly and looked at him drinking. She shifted uncomfortably in her seat. "Umm...."

  • Of course! ;) ))

Pointing to a white door he finished his sip and said, "There's a bathroom in there, bath, towel's, soap anything you need and if its not in there the girls will get it for you. I think the girls already drew you a nice calm relaxing bath. Always seems to help with the whole process." Sitting back he said, "Take your time, we have a bout 5 hours till we land so when you get out we can see what is on the menu for dinner and we can go from there." Smiling he finished off the beer and sticking his hands in his pocket opened a door slightly and slipped into another room.

  • Karmin had been watching him carefully because he had begun to drink. She wasn't fond of such people, especially careful at the moment because she didn't know anything really about this guy. He was just such a smooth talker, she was realizing, that she had just gone along with him willy-nilly. She was surprised that she hadn't even questioned it when he guided and took her along.
But... that bath did sound good. In her gut, she could feel the tiger perk up again, intrigued that there was water since it loved swimming. She held he stomach tightly. No, not here. Shifting here would not be good at all. She felt a feather-light coating of fur grow on her neck an she bit her lip, hoping it wouldn't get any worse.

  • "OH and there's some drops of lavender in the bath and that always seems to help calm people down. Especially when there about to shift." He said sticking his head out of the door real quick then disappearing back inside. Once he heard her go into the bathroom he called someone on his phone. "Yes, I have here. Bringing her there now. Once she gets there we can do the shopping spree, and then when she falls asleep we can begin." Hanging up quickly he leaned back in the chair and took a deep breath.

  • Karmin went into the washeoom, nodding to him in recognition of his words. She could really smell the labender and sighed as she felt the fur slowly disappear. She stepped in the bath and felt her muscles just untense and she closed her eyes. This was a life she could enjoy living. She scrubbed herself of the dirt and gave her hair a good wash before coming back out and changing into the clothes he had left with her. She stepped out of the bathroom with her hair in a towel.

  • Beckett stepped out of the office hearing her come out. Smiling he had changed into a t-shirt with the sleeves cut off and a pair of shorts. From what I'm gathering you needed that!" Chuckling he sat back down in the seat he had earlier and grabbed a menu and handed her another one. "Order what ever you want! The resort pays for it all so I always try to take advantage of it!" He chuckled. Ordering a steak, potatoes and a glass of sparkling water he sat back and took a sip of the water.

  • Garmin looked at the food options on the menu. Usually, she would only dream of eating this kind of stuff.
"In reality, I don't know what to have," she admitted out loud to him. "I've never been to restaurants that were fancy enough to serve this stuff. As an orphan, I never had the funds to. So... " she paused. "I guess I'll have the salmon and Alfredo pasta." she said and thought the fish would serve well to satisfy the tigers in her. "Oh, and a ginger ale."

  • The waitress took there order and brought her her ginger ale to give them something to basically snack on before there food came.

Beckett looked at her and said, "Tell me about yourself." That was all he could think of off the top of his head but it was something that could get a conversation started

  • She took a sip of her drink then looked up at him. "Well," she started, licking a drip off her lip first. "There's not much to tell. I grew up as an orphan and no one ever adopted me. I had friends, but they almost pitied me. I don't like being looked at as the weaker or the lesser of people. I guess that's partly because I want to fit in and being a shape shifter as well as an orphan leaves those kinds of opportunities far and few." She shrugged. "But you probably already know all that. After all, you looked like you had a whole file on me. You can't tell me that that was just put together for this one time shifting in public. That folder was too thick."

  • Beckett smiled and chuckled a little taking the last sip of his drink. Setting it down the food came out and he looked at her. "Your smart, but I already did know that. Tell me about what you like to do? Where there any plans for colleges because we have some great programs over at the resort for students like you. WE bring in teachers from across the country for all sorts of classes." Cutting his steak he took a bite and then a sip of a fresh glass.
