A WIP. I will probably maybe finish this.
[align=center]Ihles
male, 14 moons, loner
”I’m not your friend.”
- History -
He was literally born in an overturned bin; it was the only shelter his mother could find when she started birthing in a downpour. Four kits in his litter, tiny and mewling, and - as far as he knows - only he survived the first night. His name was Ihles, after his vanished father.
Though he never knew much about her, Ihles’ mother knew a life could be taken from the world at any time. She trained him relentlessly as soon as he could lift his paws, and showed no apparent sympathy. Neither did she restrict him to only a warrior’s lessons. As a result of the training, Ihles is a jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none. He has limited knowledge of medicines, is a fine hunter, and a moderate fighter, though he tends to favour the sly approach due to his slightness.
When he was 6 moons old, Ihles’ mother went away and did not return. He assumed that, like his father, she had died without explanation.
When he was 8 moons old, he encountered a she-cat named Nina who looked very much like himself, of a similar age. Though she tried to befriend Ihles, he rejected her over a period of weeks. They did not meet again. Ihles has suspicions, but he doesn’t regret shunning her.
When Ihles was 11 moons old, he discovered the Abyss. Now an isolated wanderer, he went to drink in a dusty pool and found the cramped, dark space that would become his home. He roamed the empty caverns for some time.
On Devouring Day, when the chasm shifted and sealed itself close to the entrance, he was trapped in pitch-blackness underground. Ihles didn't escape from the darkness for a week, and afterwards was drastically changed. He is convinced the Abyss is alive.
- Appearance -
Possibly due to his mother’s poor health during pregnancy, Ihles is scrawny even for his age, and will always remain so. His stance is permanently wary. Despite his 'innocent' big blue eyes, Ihles has seen some things he shouldn't, and it shows in his face. In low lighting, his eyes will occasionally glow a little.
His fur is downy and swan-white with large brown patches. He is particularly proud of the arrowhead shape on his nose, which he would say is quite handsome. To that, someone who knows him well might respond: "You'd look more handsome if you smiled more often."
His way of speaking is strange and disjointed, probably from a lack of conversation with anyone other than his mother. He has a tendency to drop syllables.
- Personality -
Generally, Ihles only smiles when something has done something remarkably stupid in his vicinity. He does not laugh around or play like many apprentices, and is comfortable in his own company.
