    "I would much rather ease my hunger a bit before the party. You're the perfect person to bite also,"Vernon said. He smiled, his fangs longer then Sylvia's when they were fully out, and much sharper. Vernon walked up to Jake and said,"But I would rather make Sylvia watch." Vernon was awfully close, biting close. While Vernon was talking, Sylvia fought against unconsciousness. Sylvia slowly opened her eyes and got up. With shaky legs and the whole world spinning, Sylvia went up the stairs and down the hall as fast as possible.

    Jake glared. He clenched a fist punching Vernon with his right arm before punching his again and dashing out the door grabbing Sylvia and running into the kitchen. He removed the painting and ran down into the tunnel putting the portrait back up before walking down the cold cement stairs into the ground.

    Sylvia dug her heels into the cement, stopping them both dead centered. She said,"Running will only make it worse. He's much faster then the average man. He'll catch us Jake." Just as she said it, Vernon was in front of them both, smiling. "I was hoping I wouldn't have to wake you up. Now you can watch him die." In a split second, Vernon had grabbed Jake and turned him so he saw Sylvia and said in Jake's ear, his grip tightening on Jake's shoulder's,"Better say goodbye Romeo." Sylvia was rooted to the spot, fear and worry written all over her face.

    With a hiss, Vernon attacked. Sylvia had moved infront of Jake and pushed Vernon away, her silver eyes a muddy yellow. Vernon, clearly surprised, said,"Why are you protecting him sis?!" In answer, Sylvia pointed to the palm of her hand at a small star that wasn't there before. Verno hissed and yelled,"Traitor!" Sylvia hit Vernon in the face and kicked him away and said,"Jake, get out of here. NOW!!" She took a hit to the face, but kicked Vernon in the stomach, Vernon attacking with renewed hatred.

    Vernon, in one quick movement, sunk his fangs into Jake's neck. Sylvia stopped, not knowing what to do. Vernon was older and stronger, and she did want to hurt Jake anymore then he was already was.

    Jake fell to his knees holding his neck. He gasped " F*ck you. " he growled before poking one of his fingers into his right eye. Jake didn't care for anything. He kept pushing till he felt blood on his hand. He then fell to the ground unconscious. His breath went cold and slowed.

    Vernon pulled out his fangs just as he was yanked roughly be the back of his shirt. Sylvia turned him around till he was facing her and said,"If I ever see you near Jake again, I will personally kill you." She pushed Vernon outside and closed the door. She picked up Jake and put him on the couch. Sylvia bandaged up his neck and sighed. She went up stairs and, covering her nose with her sweater, grabbed the journal and went to her room. She fixed her sweater and opened the journal, reading.

    The journal was useless since it was all written in European spanish. The journal only showed one drawing of a weird looking knife that was made of a weird looking black rock. It showed nothing else since the writing was Spanish.

    Sylvia sighed and put down the journal. She walked out of her room and down the hall. She watched as Jake slept, feeling guilty for leaving him alone in his room. "Why can't you admit that you want to turn him into a vampire? You can't because you don't want him to be like yourself, or like Vernon. You don't want him as a vampire,"Sylvia thought.

    Sylvia smiled, and thought of turning him. All it took was an image of Jake biting a human that make her say no to that idea. Sylvia suddenly felt sick and she ran to the bathroom. She puked several times and saw blood. She groaned and muttered,"Why must i puke up blood that i got two nights ago?" She stumbled backward, dizzy. She stood up and walked back ti the room that Jake was sleeping in, her fangs longer then they were earlier.

Sylvia smiled, with her mouth closed, and walked down the tunnel, soon discovering that it divided into three separate tunnels. She went down the middle one and heard someone talking. She gasped when she recognized Vernon's voice. She went back to Jake and said,"It divides into three separate tunnels. The middle one leads to Vernon's house. And no, you are not going to his house to kill him."
