I will survive! Thought the tiny kit as she limped through the forest, leaving a trail of tiny pawprints in the soft earth. Her paws were heavy and her muddy tail dragged along the ground. A cool night breeze blew her bloody fur. I will survive! she repeated in her head as she continued staggering on through the dark forest. She had been walking for days with no food or shelter from the scorching sun or the chilly breezes of night. Once, not long ago, she was warm, in bed with her siblings and mother. She remembered how her father threw her away for being different. For having five toes on her front paws. He attacked her and nearly killed her. She ran away as quickly as she could and found herself in a forest. Her once magnificent and flowing fur became matted with mud and her own blood. I will survive! She repeated as dark clouds covered the moon. Her steps fell slower, her breaths grew quicker. With a giant leap, she scrambled over the fallen trunk of a large tree. I will survive! the path grew rocky and she could feel her senses become dull. She barely noticed the rain pouring down her matted fur. I will survive! Her tiny feet slipped in the mud and she fell to the ground with a tiny squeak and a splash. "I will survive.." she mewed out loud, before slowly closing her eyes and slipping into the darkness of sleep. The last thing she was aware of was the gentle patter of the rain hitting her tiny back.

Whitedrizzle saw the cat and swiftly picked her up. She carried her to a cave not far from where the kit was. When she got to the den she cradled the kit. "Sleep..." Whitedrizzle soon did also fall asleep in the cave, cradling the small kit.
-
A loud clap of thunder woke the sleeping kit. She slowly opened one eye and curiously looked around. It was dark out, with the first lights of dawn shining into the cave. She felt warm, and slowly realized that a cat had curled around her. She let out a quiet mew "Who are you?" She asked in a tired, shaky voice.
-
She awoke staring lovingly at the kit. "I am Whitedrizzle." She smiled and wrapped her tail around the kit. WHo are you, and where do you come from?"
-
The tiny kit seemed slightly startled by her loving gaze. "I-I'm Frost," She mewed in a voice almost as small as herself. She looked up at Whitedrizzle quietly "And I don't have a home anymore..." She continued, thinking of how her siblings would always tease her. Why is this cat being so nice? she thought
-
She frowned. "Oh... Well, do you have a name?" She looked at the kit curiously. The kit was so small. Whitedrizzle could fit her in her paw.
-
Wrapping her tail around her front paws she looked down slightly, expecting to be attacked again. "My name is Frost." She said, trying to be a little louder and failing miserably. She shyly licked a bloody scratch on her shoulder to cover up her fear. Show no fear Her mother's words echoed in her head. They can smell fear.
-
She grew annoyed. "Well little one, what clan were you before you got lost?" She swiftly cleaned up the kit's cuts with herbs.
-
She winced slightly as her cuts were cleaned "Clan?" she questioned the cat "What's a Clan?"
-
She looked at her. Loner... She thought. "Nevermind. However, from now on, your name shall be..." She thought. The loner name had to go. Completely. "Fadekit." She continued to groom the kit.
-
Tilting her head to the side, she looked at the cat with a curious expression "Fadekit?" she asked quietly "What's wrong with my old name?"
-
"Nothing, nothing." She stopped grooming the kit. "If your a loner..." She mumbled. "You are a clan kit now, and Clan kit's must have a Clan name. Not some loner name they were named by there mothers." She picked the kit up by the scruff in her mouth and dropped her on a rock, eye view of WHitedrizzle.
-
Her whiskers quivered "Can my name be Frostkit then?" she asked, her blue eyes glittering in the light of the rising sun. "That way I have my name and not be a lone kit." Her whiskers quivered quietly in fear of her idea being rejected.
-
When we get back to the den, I'll ask BrassStar what is best. "Frost... ugh..." She murmered again. She grabbed the kit again in her mouth and began to carry her back to camp. "Can you walk?" She asked nervously.
-
"I think so.." Shakily, Frost rose to her feet and stumbled along. Although it hurt, she wouldn't let another cat see any weakness.
-
She looked down at the kit and sighed. The threw the kit onto Whitedrizzle's back. "I like Fadekit little one... If your mother left you here, you shall not keep anythig from that loner." She spoke rudely towards the kit's mother as if she were a rock. She started to trot towards camp with the kit on her back.
-
"My mother didn't leave me," She mewed quietly as they ran through the forest. "My father chased me out.." Looking at her paws, she gazed at them sadly. Why couldn't I have been like my siblings? she thought Why did I have to be born with five toes on my front paws? She let her whiskers droop in sadness, remembering how they would always tease her about her small size and her strange paws.
-
She stopped. "And if they cared they would be looking for you. You don't need anything they gave you!" She sort of shouted without meaning to. "Fadekit!" She accidentally yelled again. She smiled. She always wanted a kit of her own to name Fadekit.
-
"Please call me Frostkit" The tiny kit begged. It was the only thing she had left to remind her of her mother. "They can't look for me!" She mewed desperately "He'll kill them! He said he would kill any cat that went to help me. That's why I came here..." after a brief pause she looked into Whitedrizzle's eyes, begging her silently It's the only thing of her's I have left...
-
She sighed, annoyed. "Whatever." She growled. She kept walking the path, heading to the den. Whitedrizzle's body tensed up and her veins pulsed.
