Evan had seen Rhy, that strange spirit, wandering around. "Why doesn't she get in a body, like you? Or go back?"
Anuva glanced over, her eyes narrowing with distaste. "She's a broken spirit, Evangelical Nightmare." The black pharaoh dog said with a sniff, dissatisfied and imperious. She was a perfectly whole spirit, after all. Nothing wrong with her. She could go and come as she pleased, and fill a real body, like she was now.
"Oh." He said, pausing for a moment before he asked the inevitable. "What's that mean?" He queried.
Anuva was clearly beginning to regret answering his first question, as she had opened herself to a slew more. And once Evan got started, he never stopped. He was without a doubt the most irritating pupil she had ever worked with. Everything about him made her want to rip his stupid face off. She smiled. "Well it means she's stuck. She can't go back to the spirit world. She's lost her way."
He glanced at his black and red butterfly. "She doesn't have one?" He asked, and Anuva nodded. He frowned. "Well can I give her this one?"
"No, Evangelical Nightmare. First of all, it's a horrible idea. Secondly, that butterfly is only good for you. That spirit's homing beacon has been removed. There is no way she can ever go to the spirit world. Her body-key is also very specific, so it's doubtful she'll find a body. In fact, her original one might be the only one." Anuva explained. Spirits were like keys fitting into bodies that were locks. Some spirits could fit into many locks, even change themselves like a locksmith to fit into even more bodies. Some...well they couldn't. They might only fit into one body ever. Anuva had tried telling him that the other day, but she doubted he understood or remembered.
The young tiger cub frowned, putting his head down on his stretched out forelegs before getting tired of that and getting up to pace around. "So she'll just be stuck here for forever?"
"No. If spirits don't get the nourishment they need, whether from physical bodies or the spirit world, they will fade away. It's a rather painful process, slow and agonizing. Eventually they will become absolutely nothing." The canine smiled wolfishly. "It is sometimes used as a punishment for those who disobeyed their gods." She added smugly.
