Bad weather and tropical storms drove his comrades away. The suborn tom hadn’t left with the rest of the Skulls, he’d been left behind because of his reluctance to depart from the old territory. Alas, eventually the natural disasters forced him to move as well. Leaving the beach was one of the hardest things the young pirate had ever to do. His heart was wrenched when he fled the storm beaten sands where he had grown up.
It had taken him some weeks but Kidd had tracked his clan to the dilapidated manor within the dense pine woods. The air was no longer salty to his nose and his ears were not filled with the cries of overhanging gulls instead it smelled dusty and deeply of pine. His ears were eerily met with silence in the chilling forest. The beating sun didn’t shine upon his slate grey pelt in the dense coverage of the trees. It was a setting that would take time to get used to. It was so different from the last and Kidd wore a tiny frown on his maw as he thought back of his lost home.
The compact feline padded over the fallen pine needles and dirt. He passed by a tombstone, a shadow was cast over the large rock and the engraving was so worn away at that it was near to impossible to read. The tomcat halted and sat back on his haunches when he reached the mansion. He craned his neck and examined the large structure before him with his single golden eye. This was his new home. It smelled familiar here. It smelled of the Skulls. This had to be place. ”Ahoy!? Mateys? Is this the Skulls territory? his raspy voice called out.
