[fancypost borderwidth=0px]The LightningClanner was taking new route today- an older, more worn path that he'd never seen before. It was higher up, too, but Roman had grown adjusted to these more beaten paths, and he never once thought that this one was any less safe than the rest.
He was wrong, to say the least.
One wrong step was all it took, the rock path began to crack, collapse beneath him. A sudden feeling of panic arose, expanding through his chest like a balloon as he wildly tried to regain his balance and find solid land. But it was too late- a slip of a paw, and he was sent flying.
Pieces of earth crumbled beneath him as he slipped, losing his balance to the hundreds of feet that stretched down the cliffside. He clawed at the air frantically, trying to get a grip on something that wasn't there.
Then he was falling. Falling, falling, falling. Roman writhed in the air, feeling as though he were about to throw up as he plummeted down, down, down, the air whistling in his ears and through his fur.
And then he stopped moving, closing his eyes, letting himself fall. It was no use. He might as well not struggle- he was going to hit the ground either way. The Emperor released a final breath, and simply allowed himself to descend.
Crunch!
Everything went dark.

But then... but then there was light? Roman didn't know what if felt like to die, but this wasn't it. Was it? No. It couldn't be. This was... strange. He felt like he was moving. Was he, really? The light was far away, bouncing around in front of his vision almost mockingly.
His eyelids suddenly fluttered open, and there was sudden brightness- brightness everywhere. He winced at the sudden appearance of the light, rolling over and shutting his eyes once more. He felt... different. He couldn't explain it, it was just... different.
For a moment he crouched, trying to adjust his vision to waking back up. There was snow, all around him... and rocks... and... was he back on the mountain? The LightningClan Emperor glanced up, finally able to take in his surroundings.
He was on one of the pathways, though he was further down than the level the camp was on. With a grunt, Roman rose to his paws- wait- were those his paws?
He stood there frozen, staring at himself for a moment. Fluffy white fur, covered in spots; much taller than he had been, and he looked like- was he- this new body was a snow leopard? Okay. Okay. That wasn't bad- he could live with that.
The snow leopard took a pace forward, clumsy on his now-large paws. He felt big and hulking and huge, unlike his lithe and agile feline form. This was weird. This was so weird. "*..." Roman muttered, rubbing his head with a large paw.
The LightningClanner sighed a little, a deep frown crossing as maw as he stumbled forwards, trying in vain to adjust to this large new body and make it back to the cave without falling again.
