• Despite his words she found his tone and the way he moved contradicting. "Honey, if I could have prevented it, I would've." Her voice was low, warning him to back off."It isn't exactly an idea place to raise a child." Her hand went back combing her hand through the child's hair. Bright eyes curiously peered around her legs.

"Who's are they, mommy?" His eyes were trained on the Akemi with a tiny smile

  • Akemi watches the boy for a second or two his face almost softening.
"He will die here, woman," he says simply, looking at the mother. "Unless you come with me and this girl. I will do my very best to protect you and him both. You have my word," he says extending his hand. "I can't break my word, and you know it."
(Since Sand Walkers are nearly demon, I feel like they can almost be bound in contract like a demon would be)

  • [Sounds like a plan. That almost reminds me of Black Butler. :3 ]

She had been afraid of this. Afraid of losing her life and in turn murdering her son. Her only baby. She had been lucky for the six years so far and knew this was the smart idea, but what she hated was making it known that she was with a Sand Walker. A long moment she contemplated his proposition, "Fine. I'm only doing this for my son." She hated giving into such a disgusting being. "His name is Travon, by the way. I don't care about myself so much as I do him. Just keep those two safe "

  • (I watched the first two episodes or so :D not really my kind of anime)
Akemi quickly retracts his hand, looking at the little boy, and trying to remember what it was like to be so tiny and helpless. How this frail little female creature had managed to keep such an even more so, frail little thing was beyond him. He almost had respect for the bond a mother had with her child- it was something he had nearly really experienced before, even when he walked the over side with his sister as a human.
"Hello," he says happily enough, looking down at the little boy. "My chosen is Akemi and this is my charge, Nanette." He gestures to her sleeping figure with one hand.

  • As if in queue Nanette stirred in his arms opening her eye the examine the situation going on before then.

The mother and child seemed to be running on the same thought process as they both looked to each other at the same time. The boys mother blew through a sigh, "Fine." She didn't at all sound thrilled.

"Hi," the little boy grinned running out from behind his mother to greet the new characters. It was rare for the little boy to be allowed to meet someone new instead of hide. "I'm six years old," he emphasized by holding up as many fingers. "How old are you, Aki? How old is Nani?"

  • Akemi sniffs the air for a second or two before looking back at the mother and her child and then Nanette, slightly upset that she hadn't been able to sleep any longer. The first thing these people needed to do was cut their hair and get new clothes. He could easily find someone tonight and slit their throats if they had nice clothing, he supposed.
"Nanette, what year was it that you remember last?" He asks, genuinely curious to know how old he actually was.

  • "Twenty-twenty three," she yawned stretching her arms out. "We just celebrated the New Year, could you put me down?" She questioned now that she was awake. She also found herself curious by the fact of his asking.

The mother watched the three with a close eye suspicious. Although the demon was swore to keep her son safe there was nothing to say the blonde girl wouldn't.

"I'm twenty three," Nanette smiled down at the child once she was on her own feet, well, foot if you will.

  • "Hm... let's see.... 1937... that makes me..." Akemi trails off, lost in thought, his mind wandering through his memories, starting with his family's immigration to Japan when he was 3 years old. And then the accident that killed his parents... living on the streets... his sisters smiling face...
Akemi suddenly winces, a hand at the side of his head. What was that? His body was reacting to the memories of love, and it hurt much more than usual

  • "Are you alright?" She asked quickly noting his sudden twinge. It was odd she didn't think he could feel much in the way of pain. "What's wrong?" She murmured as to not make him look vulnerable in front of the two? "By the way who are they?"

The little boy moved so he was cling to Akemi leg, "Aki," he whined. Earning the child a look from his mother.

  • Akemi chooses to ignore Nanette and instead glances down at the child, his gaze slightly annoyed but not angry in any way.
"My name is Akemi. Not Aki. And what do you need?" He asks, forgetting for the moment the pain in his head. This might have been a mistake- this child was far too clingy far too fast.

  • "Well, I'm calling you Aki," the child sassed running back to his mother. "Grumpy," His bright eyes gleaned with mischief. Nannette held back a laugh at him giving Akemi a hard time.

"Travon James," his mother hissed pulling him back behind her. "Maybe this wasn't a good idea, I'm sorry for my son." She sent her son a dirty look. " Please forgive him he doesn't understand what's going on down her just yet. Please forgive me.

  • Despite his best intentions not to, Akemi flashes the child a small smile, scooping up the small child in his arms.
"Then I'm going to call you... peanut," Akemi says, deciding on the first over world object that pops into his head. He hadn't held such a small thing in a quite a while, besides when he buried a child who looked similar a couple of weeks (or was it months?) Back. Akemi hadn't seen a child alive and nearly well in almost 5 years or so. It was incredible.

  • The child squealed in delight. His lips were wrapped up in a grin. For a child his age he was only about half the weight he should have been. But he made up for it in laughter and smiles.

Nannette shook her head, laughing at the two. There was already an attachment evident between the two. She glanced over at the child's mother finally able to introduce each other. For a moment she could see the woman's expression softening as Akemi interacted with Travon only to turn back to a steely gaze once she started to talk to her.

  • Akemi supports the child with one arm, studying him curiously.
"Well, peanut, it appears you need to cut your hair. Like right now" he glances at the woman's knife and stared at it, transfixed. There was something definitely... different about it. And then it hit him. It was an angelic blade. Somehow this woman had stumbled across an angelic blade. It was how she and her child had survived for so long.

  • The woman took a deep breath knowing exactly why he was staring. "Do you just notice?" Her voice was low feeling slightly guilty for having such a weapon amidst the presence of a Sand Walker. But how he had just taking note to it's presence was beyond herself.

Nannette found herself slightly confused by the woman's words. "Notice what?" She found herself asking. She felt awkward only knowing what Akemi had told her about the world Below so far.

"My blade," she barely glanced in the Man's direction. Instead much of the time her eyes found themselves examining the sand below her feet. "Did you know Angels aren't as immortal as they appear. A few months before I bore Travon I stumbled across an Angel whose wings were broken. Their blood is is red as any human's." She shook her head, the scene was still all to familiar. "Another Sand Walker had left he for dead. It tried to help he despite being who she was and stayed by her side. No one deserves to die alone." Her voice broke at the end. "In the end she turned this over to me, she said to use it to protect my child, then blew up into thousands of tiny grains of golden sand."

She looked to Akemi, "I had no plans to use it against you unless you gave me no choice." She swore.

  • "Her name was Malon," Akemi looked at the woman, his eyes narrowing. "The sand walker, I mean. I traveled with her for a short while during the time of the blood moon. She was the closest thing to a demon I had ever seen. She was determined to take down an angel, and eventually, she did. It cost her what little remained of her soul. I think she got out, however. Whether she now walks the over world as a demon or the seven depths of hell is beyond me."
Akemi gently runs his hand over Travon's head, his eyes distant. Malon had saved his life, led him when he was first changed and taught him how to utilize his abilities during the times when he was still vulnerable to humans

  • The dark haired woman found herself slowly nodding, Hosanna was her name. It truly was a small world down here.
Not noticing his distress the boy reached towards his nose. "I got your nose." He giggled a grin over taking his lips. "I got your nose, Aki."

    [Rushed, sorry!]

  • Akemi catches the child's hand right before with a simple, quick motion forgetting for a second he was young and wasn't going for his eyes.
"Actually, you don't. My nose isn't that great."
    (Me 2 ;))

  • Traven frowned slightly though it quickly turned to a pout. "That's not what I meant." He grumbled trying to squirm out of of the silver haired lads arms. "Momma!" The boy wiggled.

Hosanna looked up from where she was talking to Nannette in panic. Only to remember they were safe for the moment. For the moment. "Mr. Akemi, shouldn't we get moving soon?" She questioned watching the two together.

  • Akemi very gently sets the small down, looking behind him and coconut his head to one side like a dog.
"Oh, not yet. We've been being followed for three or four hours now. I'm waiting for them to catch up with us. Slave traders, but the sounds of pleading on the winds..." Akemi smiles and looks at the blade in Hosanna's hand. "I trust you won't stab me through the second I turn around?" He says, his eyes meeting hers. "Because I'm thinking that the first time a sand walker approached you and your child that's exactly what you did, more or less."
