  • "We aren't BABIES," Sparkstep muttered, rolling his eyes. He perked up a few moments later though. "We'll be fine, but I'd like to thank you all for your support. We should probably go soon, shouldn't we Honeystar?" The brown tabby bounced over to his mate and grinned at her, eager to get going.

  • "Hey Timberline, hey Breezepaw." Lionpaw said as he walked towards his mentor and his friend. "What I miss?" The golden tom said as he walked right beside the little group.

  • "SnowClan isn't anywhere near the Moonstone, silly billy!" Sparkstep giggled. "It's the Tribe of Flying Fishes we have to worry about. But I'm sure they're too busy to really notice just two cats. Stop worrying about us, we're your leaders, remember?"

  • Timberline looked at Lionpaw, wishing that for his own sake he hadn't stepped in when he had. She whispered into his ear so others wouldn't hear, "Honeybreeze and Sparkstep have lost their minds."

"I can't go either," said Benniepaw, who wished she could have. She was a huge cat now and quick too. But she had babies to feed. Don't I always? "But I'm sure there are others who could go. Wrathbane!" she called. "Could you go? Crystalstar needs a warrior to accompany....Honeystar and Sparkstar to the moonstone. Just in case...something happens. Because of course, if they were killed we would have no leader."

  • Wrathbane poked his head out of the warrior's den after hearing Benniepaw's call. He'd caught snatches of conversation from earlier and a bit of yowling, but had spent most of the ordeal trying to avoid it. He supposed it was about time things were straightened out though. This madness couldn't last forever. "Of course," he mewed, forcing a crooked smile onto his face as he glanced reluctantly at Honeybreeze and Sparkstep. Psychos. "I'd be glad... to accompany such fine leaders."

  • Mousetail looked at Wrathbane and then Honeystar, "Forgive Lionpaw for his outburst, he is in shock about Polarstar's death as well. Why don't we leave right now before anything else happens." he meowed.

  • "Yes, we'll leave now." Honeybreeze told everyone, looking down at the traveling herbs she had gathered. "Oh I forgot something!" Racing back in to the medicine cat den, she grabbed a bundle of cobwebs and stuck some on top of Sparkstep, Mousetail's and Wrathbane's heads. "There, now eat the traveling herbs!" She bent to gnaw on a stem of catnip, then licked up some honey. "Everyone ready?"

  • "Yes, Honeystar." Mousetail meowed. He couldn't believe how humiliating this was. He was glad Mosstail wasn't here, otherwise she'd never let him forget this.

  • Benniepaw, too, never thought she'd see the day. "Starclan bless," she said hoping they left sooner rather than later and hopefully got this over with.

Lovekit came running back over from another part of camp. She stopped when she saw the two crazy cats with cobwebs and stuff on their heads. It should have been funny...but it wasn't. There was something just creepy and unsettling, and upsetting, about all of it. She sat a polite {and safe} distance away and didn't say a word.

  • Lionpaw looked at Timberline, "Well can I do anything to help," He said to his mentor. "Could I go with them? Please."

  • "Thank you, dearest!" Sparkstep purred, flicking his muzzle up into the air and grabbing the cobwebs in his jaws as they fell downwards. The brown tabby began to chew enthusiastically, his mouth stuffed with the webbing. "Not as bitter as I'd expected. NOT BAD!" He turned to Mousetail and Wrathbane, and watched them expectantly. "Well... eat up!" He motioned with his forepaw towards both of their heads.

Wrathbane grimaced and shook himself, knocking the "traveling herbs" aside. "It's okay. I already had some, err... earlier." The black and white tom tried to smile assuringly again. He should've stayed inside.

  • Timberline looked at Lionpaw with serious concern. "What part of 'confined to camp' have you forgotten? I have permission to bring you out within our territory only when training, and apart from that, you're going nowhere." It was things like this, however small this one had been, that made her afraid. Afraid that no matter how he seemed to get what she and other warriors taught him, he just didn't get it. Realising she might have been too forceful, she decided to say something to soften it. "I'm sorry if it seems harsh. But it was decided on and you accepted it as well."

  • "Honeystar, why don't we leave now, the sooner we get there, the sooner we get to come back and have you lead us into a glorious age." Mousetail meowed.

  • "It's alright Timberline." Lionpaw said to his mentor. "It's just that with all this excitement going around I got a little carried away... Heh."

  • "That's okay, we all have room for improvement," said Timberline to her mentor. Perhaps that was the problem--when he got excited for whatever reason and in whatever way, he simply didn't think.

The trick was making the warrior code second nature. Something that he would do even without thinking.

  • Curiosity struck him at an instance, "Where is Honeystar and the others going?" Lionpaw said to his mentor Timberline.
