    The fawn mackerel had found an iced-over pond. Yay, iced-over ponds. Instantly she was on the ice, scrabbling for a grip on the surface. She had easily found that sliding around flat on her pads was quite an experience, and so she glid across the frozen liquid, giggling and whooping with joy. She was quite a child inside.

Pulling his head out of the snow, he shook his head and gave a sly smile. Well that was awkward. Right then, maybe he'd try more slowly.

    "I suck at anything ice related. I flunked an ice sculpture class. When I was a kid I got my tongue stuck to an icicle and had to sleep with my mouth open all night because it was so big. Iceskating is my specialty; all I can do is kick and flail and break bones. I'm not getting out their Pappy. I can't even handle ice cubes." Heh, no need to go into detail about that one.
