    .... The shadows speak..... The creep around my walls, following me where ever I may go..... I hear them talking... whispering ... not thinking I can hear them... They speak about others.. about ways to destroy my friends and my family... They even talk about ways to destroy me... They call me a Brude... I call them Casts... I wonder if others can hear the shadows like I can.... And I know others can... My classmates talk about them... "The Shadows that Speak" is what they say..... As soon as they spoke of them.... everyone began to disappear.... First, it was just a few people... then... one whole grade would disappear... people said it was a disease that killed them all.... but I know.... It was the Casts.... The whole world was dying off... Everyone was panicking.... Countries were loosing half their population in a week.... The human race was becoming extinct.... But, when all hope was lost... the Lurms came.... Creatures that could fight off the Casts.. they could kill them.... They protected the race... Saving the world... But as soon as they were here, they were gone... Going back to where they came from, to a different dimension... The Lurms told us, before they went, that the Casts would be back... someday... and they would protect us once again... They told us that they would always be watching... that they weren't really leaving us.... Its been decades since the Casts attacked.... History books have been filled with this war that the entire world faced.... Even so... people are starting to forget.... People are starting to not remember what happened.... But Ive seen what is truly going on... right under the humans noses... The Lurms did stay... They protect us.. every single day.... some walk as humans.... but most of them stay by your side as a loyal pet... Either a cat, dog, horse, or human.... the shape shifters called Lurms are there.... staying by your side and protecting you from the Casts that are still here fighting for their next meal of human flesh... Every Brude has a Lurm... everyone is safe..... but..... the Lurms are slowly losing the battle.... slowly being killed by the Casts.. because they are protecting us... We have to learn.... Learn to kill these beasts.... and the Lurms can teach us just that...."
