Life Is Love [Female Alligator Needed, PAFP]

Horse lay on the bank, his scaly skin warming in the sun. It was Spring and the river was dry. Not dry of water, but females. His snout was littered with marks from his previous fights with other males. He ruled a large part of the river, though many opponents ventured into his territory, hoping to win some females. Horse hoped a female would turn up soon; he didn't know how much longer he could fight the youngsters.

Horse snapped his jaws as he saw another male slip into his waters from the opposite bank. Horse pushed himself into the water, then made his way quickly to the intruder. When he was about a tail length from his opponent he lunged, grabbing it's front leg and twisting. The male thrashed and kicked, but Horse held on.

Horse bit harder on the male's leg, sending him swimming out of his territory. Horse spun around and watched after the female. So long waiting, he wasn't going to give up that easily. He swam slowly, following the female.

Horse lost sight of the female for a second. He snorted in annoyance, though did not give up. He turned and swam back. He let himself sink deeper, then turned to look where the female had disappeared. She was there, under the surface of the water. He swam towards her very slowly.
