  • I am wondering about something. Is it possible to have a solid gray cat, gray tabby and a white cat all in the same litter? What colors would the parents have to be.

    If it is possible to have a white cat, what would be the possible coat colors of the kits if I took one of the white cats out of the above litter and crossed it with another white cat?

  • Uh, well it all depends. ^^;

    By "white cat" do you mean it still has like a splot of color?

  • No, I don't beleive it's possible. Maybe sometime in the future, genetics will get twisted once more and BOOM! Then It might happen. :)

    And I don't think I understand your second question. ^^;

  • Well the 2nd question is relevant to the first. It depended on whether or not the first question was true. But seeing as it isn't, I guess the kits wouldn't be related by blood. But that part is kind of irrelevant. I believe the mother is a white and blue tabby while the father is just white. What would be the possible genetics?

    And this goes back to my main question: will the kits of two white cats all be white if their parents carry the gene for a different pelt color other than white?

  • Uh, honestly I haven't learned the "x White" genetics yet.

    I do know that a solid white cat, unless Albino from some gene mess up, can not be in the same litter as a solid blue tabby and blue cat.

  • Uh . .

    white cat x another cat

    mostly white other colored cat x mostly white other colored cat

    white x white

    as for albino, I don't know if a white kit would come out of that litter. -_-'

    I think you get it. ^^;

  • Ok. This reminds me of the genetics unit I studies in biology. It was my favorite unit in the subject. I had forgotten how to do those punnet squares for complex things regarding fur. Is that what you guys use to predict pelt colors?

  • xD No. More like "we asume brown tabby because the female is black. Brown tabby is black in tabby form. We asume all cats on WCARPG carry the tabby gene. etc."

  • No. ^^ Even if both parents were white. Most likely some silvers in the litter. Not sure. Don't go off that. xD
