  • Plot:
Karmin is the new queen of the kingdom of Alabast, and is a kind person at heart. The only problem is that she sometimes lets her emotions get out of hand, especially when she is mad. She becomes almost a different person, whom many have given the name Kriptess.

After losing her father to an illness, she ascends to the throne with few people she feels she can actually trust. However, she keeps her dear friend, and most loyal subject in her mind, close by. YOUR CHARACTER, the head of the guards and Karmin's crush. However, as much as she loves him, Kriptess doesn't care for him too much, so when another girl catches his attention, she gets very jealous. She will do anything to keep him

  • OOC- sure!

    IC-
Karmin wandered the great halls, her gown trailing around behind her. That night was the great ball, in honour of her coronation that morning. In all honesty, she was happy and sad... but her mixed emotions made her a little silly. She had rarely traveled through this side of the palace and didn't know her way around, having gotten lost. No one was around unfortuneatly as everyone had been reassigned to the ball room for the night.
She sighed, pushing brown curls from her face back behind her ears. "I'm so stupid,,..." she muttered to herself. "This is no way for a queen to be, no matter how long they've been on the throne for."

  • Andrew made orders to the other guards. He knew that an attack could happen since it was Karmin's coronation, there were those that would want to hurt or kill the current queen and it was his job to protect her. He walked around looking at where the guards were stationed and saw through a window of one of the secrect a of the castle that Karmin was walking down the hallway. He waved a little to try and get her attention.

  • Garmin turned her attention through the window towards the movement. She was so relieved to see Andrew and hurried around to doorway as descreetly as possible.
"Oh my goodness... I'm sorry, I got lost... It's so embarrassing," she said, looking around. "Oh, I'm just so nervous."

  • "Hey I get it. The castle is quite large which is why you probably got lost and I can see why you're nervous today. I mean you're queen now Karmin" said Andrew with a smile

  • Garmin looked down. "i don't feel like a queen... I don't feel ready either. I'm just too nervous for this! Oh,... why didn't mother and father try and have a son after me? It would be so much more simple."
She sighed and looked at the gathering of guests in the ball room who were dancing and mingling.

  • "Hey you're going to be a great queen Karmin and you'll learn how to be one through out the years you reign, now you'd better get going to your ball. They're already expecting you" said Andrew

  • She bit her lip. "Would... Would you accompany me?" She asked, looking shyly up at her friend. She gave a hesitant smile. "I mean, I can't show up completely alone. I know there are probably young nobles who might fancy the idea of coming on to me. But tonight really isn't the night for that."

  • "Of course I can accompany you inside, but we should hurry since you're already late as it is" said Andrew holding out his arm for her to link with so he could her lead her towards the ball.

  • Karmin took his arm and a rosy tint appeared on her cheeks. Andrew had always been her best friend. Although he treated her as a toyal, he didn't let her talk down to him. Or atleast, he didn't act completely submissive like any of the other guards or servants. She liked that.
She raised her head, tall and proud as she entered the ball room and towards the throne chair set at the far end.

  • Andrew felt a hint of pink on his cheeks as they walked towards the ballroom. He then let go while she headed over to where her throne was. He followed a bit after her, but stood a bit a ways from where she was at her throne.

  • She sat down, feeling a bit awkward with all eyes on her. As she sat down, she turned to the crowd and motioned to them that they should continue their festivities.
Off in a corner, resting against the wall, was a serving girl, the same age as the young queen. She dis not enjoy crowds like these and would have preferred to be back in the kitchen instead of serving... What was this stuff again? She looked at her tray and frowned. Right, it was smelly cheese. Enough people had given her dirty looks that she just stood off to the side.

  • He looked over at the servant girl resting against the wall and then began walking over to where she was since he had noticed that she seemed a little awkward from being in a big group. When he was next to her, he waved to get her attention. "So I see that you aren't really enjoying this place are you?" he asked

  • She jumped and immediately stood straighter. "Um,.. Well," she stammered, having seen him come in with the new queen. He must have been important to warrent such an honour. "I'm afraid most people don't like stinky cheese," she told him.

Karmin looked around at the crowd, her eyes drifting towards Andrew. She tried to keep a smile on her face even though she saw her crush talking with a serving girl. There was no problem that it was a serving person but... That he was talking with another girl made her a little jealous.

  • "Well maybe you just haven't met people that likes that kind of cheese" said Andrew picking up a piece of cheese from her platter with a bit of a smile on his face. He took a bite out of it and looked at her for a moment. "So what's your name?" he asked

  • "Sarah sir," she said, a little stunned that he could stand eating the cheese. She couldn't smell and yet it still tasted awful to her whenever she snuck a piece to eat. "I am a maid in the palace kitchens. But everyone was reassigned here for today, so here I am." she replied, blushing slightly. He was being so kind to talk to her.

Karmin gripped the throne chair's armrests tightly with her hands, enrolled her shoulders. She frowned, almost glaring off angrily into ball room. how could Andrew be flirting with that maid when she had done everything possible to make it clear that she was interested in him?

  • "Well it's a pleasure to meet you Sarah and you can call me Andrew instead of sir if you'd like. Also I can see why you would all be assigned today since it is a special day" he said taking another bite out of the cheese. He felt Karin's glare on him and glanced over at her. He didn't really tell that she didn't like him talking to Sarah since he thought they were having a friendly conversation.

  • "If you would like that, Andrew," Sarah blushed and smiled comfortably.

She raised her chin then her glass, standing. She had to get Andrew away from that servant before she burst something.
As she stood the room went silent.
"Thank you everyone for coming. I am honoured by all your presences. As much as this is a ceremonial after party, we would do well to recognize both aspects. So, please feel free to dance when the music starts. But also..." She looked down to where Andrew was standing. "I believe that the guard has not yet had a chance to swear their sword and loyalty to me."

  • Andrew heard what Karmin had said and began walking over to where she was at her throne. Before he did though, he said a quick goodbye to Sarah, finished his piece of cheese and was on his way. He then stood in front of her throne ready to swear his loyalty to her.
