She laughed and flicked her tail. "Its harder when the bark is so soft. And when your mind is on other things." she said, explaining herself. She looked at a slightly smaller pine tree next to the one Sharppaw was on and climbed it carefully with all focus and made it to about the height were the apprentice was.
"now lets catch something for the clan." She said looking into the canopy.
Ashcloud began to pad over to the entrance of camp and looked back for the rest of the patrol.
"come on Midnightpaw!" Hawkflight called, joining Ashcloud at the camp entrance. "Ready when you are Thawstreak."
Ashcloud purred in agreement and flicked his tail patiently.

Wolfspirit nodded at Featherpaw. "We must prepare for this upcoming leaf bare, I fear it will be one of this clan's worst.." He murmured, glancing at the thin cats and the low fresh-kill pile. The healer's gaze landed upon the leader, Wreckstar, she looked so weak for she had given up her prey for the others. He decided that he would hunt for her today on the patrol. "Let's get going"
Midnightpaw followed her mentor egarly, her amber eyes sparkling in the growing light. A ray of the sun broke through the clouds and it landed on her dark pelt, causing her to purr at the warmth. "I feel like today will be a good day for hunting. Don't you Hawkflight?" The dark apprentice mewed, trying to be noticed even a little.
IC : Hawkflight flicked an ear, catching Icecloud's gaze. She smiled a little, but turned at her apprentice's voice. "It is nice that we can still hunt." She agreed after a heartbeat. "But the prey will sleep through leafbare. We'll need to catch as much as we can, it is too early in the season for any cats to go hungry." She stood and shook out her pelt. "Remember to keep an eye out for any catmint or other herbs as well; as always, leafbare will bring sickness." She told Midnightpaw.

Featherpaw nodded following his gaze,the clan looked very weak.He was right,this leaf-bare might be one of the worst if no prey if found and green-cough ever breaks out.

Ashcloud flicked his tail and began to pad into the woods. His specialty was hunting in the trees, or just leverage its self. He looked up into the canopy searching for birds or squirrels to chase.
Foxtail saw the patrol begin to leave camp and wanted to go with but hed have to assist the apprentice back to camp.
Hawkflight padded behind Ashcloud, making sure that she was far enough away to not disturb his hunting. Spotting a rabbit a few foxlengths away she slowed, lowering herself toward the ground. She carefully stalked forward until the rabbit heard her and looked up. Hawkflight chased the rabbit a moment before catching and killing it. She picked up the prey and buried it so she could come back later for it. She rejoined the group again, still hanging back just far enough as to not disturb the others.
Ashcloud smiled as he watched his clanmate make a kill. He kept looking and spotted a starling, he jumped quietly to the park of a pine and dug his claws in careful not to slip and gradually made his way up the tree.
Hawkflight saw Ashcloud going after the bird and glanced at Midnightpaw. Hawkflight turned her attention away from her apprentice however and began scanning the ground for any signs of herbs.
Ashcloud kept his eye on the bird and realized it was on the tree over, he went out on a limb to get closer. I could make this leap. He thought then crouched down ready to spring at the bird. He pounced almost losing his balance but managed to impale the bird without falling through the forest canopy. Once he got the bird into his jaws, it still twitched, but he continued to the bark of the tree and began to head down slowly.
Aspenpaw opens her eyes and yawns. Her sister, Acornpaw, lay next to her. "Acornpaw, we're late!" She hissed.
