"Eh?" asked Edgeworth as she said something to him in German. He shrugged and sighed, he'd never figure out anything in other languages! Maybe he should get that translate app on his phone? Franziska put a hand over her mouth to stifle a laugh, not only was the question funny but so was Edgeworth's confusion. Edgeworth didn't pay much attention to Franziska though because he hadn't talked to her much during that two week time period that Carla was gone. It was still a little awkward between them and he didn't know if he had forgiven her or not even though she really didn't do anything. "How about we go out somewhere to celebrate?" Edgeworth suggested suddenly, looking around at the group. He still wasn't quite sure what Anastasia was wanting him to do or what Carla said but either way he was still going to suggest this and he looked around at the group for anyone who had an idea.

Phoenix nodded in agreement as she suggested the cafe. A small smile came on his face as he thought of the hot food and yummy sweets that were at cafes. And it was even better if it was a new one! "sounds like a plan to me!" Edgeworth didn't ponder the idea for long as he replied, "the tea that cafe's supply are usually some of the best." meaning he agreed. Maya was more of a lunch person with burgers, but she had another stomach for sweets! "Yea! I want one of those little cakes they have there." Franziska simply nodded and already seemed ro be pondering what she wanted. But no matter what she wasn't having coffee. "we might as well head out and beat the lunch group." Edgeaorth suggested with a small smile. He took a hold of Carla's hand and lead her out of the hospital, the group trailing behind him. He wasn't trying to be distant from Carla, but just slight from Franziska.

~~at the cafe~~

Everyone was standing in line for the cafe, most of them already knowing what they wanted. Edgeworth was still holding Carla's hand and gave it a light squeeze with a smile too. It basically said that he was glad to be able to bring her somewhere after her accident. Phoenix lightly tapped Carla on the shoulder and whispered to her, "When you get a chance I want to talk to you in private." he told her before everyone ordered their food and drinks. Once everyone had ordered Maya stepped forward and flashed some cash from her pocket. "I'll pay for this one!" she volunteered, and Phoenix's jaw literally dropped. "Now that is the most shocking thing I have ever seen!" he said. Maya just laughed, grabbed their things and headed to a table.

Edgeworth grabbed his tea off the tray and took a sip, letting out a small 'ah' at the warm drink. Maya dug into her little cake, eating it hungrily. Franziska had a hot chocolate and a cookie, which was already half gone. Phoenix chuckled at Mayas hunger and slowly ate his osn cake as well. Edgeworth looked towards Carla and asked her, "What was it like in that hospital for two weeks?" Phoenix scribbled something on a peice of paper, then he grabbed something else out of his pocket. He reached under the table and pressed the object and the note into Carlas hand.

The note:
I heard about all the confusing emotion stuff that happened at the hospital, and I figured you still had your questions or doubts. You can ask Edgeworth and Franziska two questions each. This thing will tell you if they're lying to you or not. Locks and chains will appear around them but you'll be the only one who can see them, but if they're telling the truth nothing will happen. I usually only use this for investigations but this is important and will save a long struggle in the future. Please give it back when your done.

He had let her borrow the Magatama.

Phoenix chuckled at Anastasia, then glanced over at Carla. He smiled back at her then continued to eat his own cake. "I'm glad your enjoying it!" he said to Anastasia, agreeing that his food was good to and it seemed everyone else was enjoying theirs as well.

"I can imagine. I've had hospital food before to and it was disgusting." Franziska agreed, feeling sorry that her friend had to eat such disgusting food for two weeks.

Edgeworth nodded as he listened to her story and set his tea down. "that sounds terrible, im sorry you had to go through that." he told her, giving her a simpathetic look.

Maya finished off her cake and commented, "At least your back! That's what matters."

Franziska glanced up from her drink as Carla asked her the question. She gave her a small smile and said, "I've been doing great, thanks for asking." suddenly chains flew around her with speed as they made a clanking noise, then two red and gold locks slammed into place where the chains intersected. She seemed completely oblivious to it though as she chuckled slightly and took another sip.

Franziska raised an eyebrow slightly as her friend choked on her drink. "Are you okay? Swallow that wrong?" she asked as she took the last bite of her cookie.

Edgeworth looked up from his tea and chuckled at her comment. "I do like my tea." he admitted, putting the cup down gently and then looking at her. "Besdies worrying about your physical state in the hospital, I've been great." he told her. Suddenly chains flew around him too with great speed, and 2 red/gold locks slammed themselves into place. He took the last sip of his tea and pushed it over to the side.

Phoenix looked back at Carla and noticed that she reacted strangly, so he assumed that she had seen the locks. So he leaned in slightly and whispered. "You have to break the locks to reveal it."

Edgeworth and Franziska both reacted in their freaked out way, with Franziska turning to the side slightly hand holding her opposite arm while Edgeworth jerked back a little. "What makes you think such a foolish thing?" she asked, seeming appaled. "why would you accuse me of lying?" but he then crossed his arms and tapped his finger on his arm. "what do you think is bothering me then, Carla? Since you seem so intent on me lying?" he asked. Raising his eyebrow and expecting nothing less of a clever answer.

Phoenix nodded to Carla and she seemed to know what she was doing.

Franziska started to seem extremely nervous and a few sweat drops fell down her face. She was so shocked that her emotions could be read that easily in a split second. She had to think up something quick, some sort of rebuttal. But one of the two locks shattered and only one remained. "I'm sorry Carla but you must've read my emotions wrong. I was simply concered for your condition, that is all." she explained, wondering how she'd wriggle out of this one.

Edgeworth looked down and his lips were pressed together in a concentrated look. "Its true, I blame Franziska for your previous condition." one of his two locks shattered. But one still remained so obviously something else was bothering him. He wasn't quite sure of what to think in this situation with Franziska and Carla. Was it true she liked him? She seemed to be denying it. "But thats all thats been bothering me." he lied.

Franziska took out her mini whip and pointed it at Carla, a smirk on her face. As she knew how to fight back more properly at this one. "When I sprinted to your room it is true that I was concerned and filled sith grief, for my best friend had been shot. But recall this, Carla. That I came to you and spoke to you with upsmost concern, though you wouldn't answer me. My grief striken emotions never completely left me." she argued, then she put her mini whip down and crossed her arms. "My emotions only faulted becuase I was surprised to see it, as I didn't texpect it. Also recall that I left you two alone. On top of that, anyone would be hurt if their friend yelled at them, would they not?" she was smiling because she thought she did pretty well on that one.

Edgeworth turned to look at Franziska and he siad with a tad bit of anger, though it wasn't over the top, "I was your fault!" he declared. She turned to look at him and seemed to growl slightly, "whatever it was it wasn't intentional!" shs rebuttled. But Edgeaorth turned back to look at Carla, "I don't see how you can know that something elsd is bothering me, but you'll never know what it is because i haven't left any evidence of it. Unless you want to take a wild guess." he said, doing his signature shrug.

But, both of their final locks were still secure.
