  • Jacob Clark
    16

Another year, another new school. That was Jacob's life now and he couldn't say he liked it. His parents were always moving around, dragging him and his younger sister with them so when they said they were finally settling down for some years Jacob was excited. He would be able to finish high school without moving and, hopefully, he'd make some friends without the fear of unexpectedly just leaving them.
Jacob woke up early, rubbing sleep from his eyes as he swung his feet over the edge of his bed and stood up to get ready. Boxes were stacked around his room and he let out a weary sigh. He had gotten most of his clothes put up already, but there was still so much to unpack. He trudged to his dresser and pulled open the drawers to find something to wear.
After he had gotten dressed, brushed his teeth, and put on his socks and shoes, Jacob hurried downstairs for breakfast. He wasn't going to be late on his first day. He grabbed a pack of poptarts and, after saying goodbye to his mother, he slung his bookbag onto his shoulders and exited his house. Today he was taking the bus to school; with the ways his grades had been his parents weren't letting him drive until he pulled them up so he had to do what he had to do.

(Just jump in. There is no form needed ^^)

Katrina climbed onto the bus nearly knocking the bus driver in the head with her guitar case. "Sorry!" Katrina apologised. She scanned the bus for a seat but they were all taken except for one next to a guy Katrina had never seen before. She sat next to him with her guitar sitting in the walkway. She glanced out the window then pulled her phone and earbuds out. She turned her music up loud to block out all the noises of the bus.

    Meai Leeanne Gra

Meai sighed softly, throwing her bag into the back of her jeep before heading to school, "Yet another day." She murmured, turning her music up as she drove down the street.

    Nathaniel Alexander Smith

Nathan glanced around the bus lazily, 'There's guitar girl.' he thought to himself, smiling slightly, 'New kid huh?'

Jacob's blue gaze turned to the girl who had taken the seat next to him. He watched as she pulled out her phone and a pair of earphones. He himself had been listening to music with his new skullcandy earphones; the music turned up just enough to drown everyone out and not ruin his hearing. He let out an inaudible sigh and turned, resting his chin in his palm, his elbow resting on his bookbag, as he stared out the window. Who knows what this school would be like.

Jacob was jolted from his thoughts when he felt someone tap his shoulder. He pulled one of his earphones and turned in his seat, careful not to disturb the girl beside him, to look at Nathan. He felt bad for not having heard what the guy had said; that is, if he had said anything. "Pardon?" His voice was laced with some kind of accent, one that only someone who had been living in London for some amount years could have acquired.

Katrina looked out the window and subtlely watched the new boy turn around to face Nathan. Nathan, the kid who was always calling her guitar girl. She turned her music down a bit so she could hear what the boys were saying.

"Oh..." Jacob smiled sheepishly when he was told Nathan had only asked for his name. "I'm Jacob." He answered the other's first question, if only to pass being called 'new kid' as his dislike for the title had grown over the years he'd had to switch schools. And to Nathan's second question, Jacob shrugged. "The sky is up-- Well, I guess it would actually be the roof..." He joked after having been unsure of what else to say.

  • KATRINA

Katrina sits alone everyday. Not because she chooses to but because everyone thinks that girls shouldn't be able to play the guitar like she does or she just stuffs everything up all the time. Except her music. See, she is actually pretty famous. She has played gigs with major bands but fame gets you nowhere. And this new kid, Jacob, he's already got more friends then Katrina in his first few minutes. Katrina cleared her throat and rubbed her bottom lip.

Jacob's eyes twinkled happily as he gained his first new friend, a genuine smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "Thanks," Jacob began and was about to say more when he heard the girl beside him clear her throat. He glanced off to the side of himself to see her watching them but thought nothing off it. He was new, and it was normal for the new kid to receive a few looks as he had learned.

Jacob turned himself so that he was facing Katrina, his gaze questioning. "Hey, what kind of music do you listen to?" He didn't particularly care if she moved seats, he didn't know her at all, but he was curious. She had to be big into music; what with her bringing a guitar onto the bus and all.

Katrina smiled at the question. No one ever wants to know anything about what she actually is like. They always ask her how she handles music and school or why don't you tour the world. "Mainly rock music, but I'm pretty interested in Latin music, I play electric guitar," she smiled. Even though he didn't ask what kind of guitar, she wanted to put it out there. See what kind of guy he is. She nodded at Nathan.

"Awesome. I dabble with guitar myself, but it's mostly acoustic. Other than that I began playing violin and piano in middle school." Jacob told Katrina. Honestly, he'd never really seen a girl play electric and he wondered how good she was. After speaking to her, he shot Nathan a glance and went digging through his backpack for his schedule. When he found it he pulled it out and read it over before answering. "Math with... Mr. Smith."

Kateina wondered if he'd ever seen her play on TV before. He might've but doesn't recognise her. She loves the sound of the violin and she wondered if Jacob was any good. Katrina first learnt how to play the acoustic but when she went to a rock concert with her father, she fell in love with the electric guitar. She had maths with Mr Smith first as well but didn't say anything. Instead she stood up as the bus stopped in front of the school.
