Jacob Clark
16
Another year, another new school. That was Jacob's life now and he couldn't say he liked it. His parents were always moving around, dragging him and his younger sister with them so when they said they were finally settling down for some years Jacob was excited. He would be able to finish high school without moving and, hopefully, he'd make some friends without the fear of unexpectedly just leaving them.
Jacob woke up early, rubbing sleep from his eyes as he swung his feet over the edge of his bed and stood up to get ready. Boxes were stacked around his room and he let out a weary sigh. He had gotten most of his clothes put up already, but there was still so much to unpack. He trudged to his dresser and pulled open the drawers to find something to wear.
After he had gotten dressed, brushed his teeth, and put on his socks and shoes, Jacob hurried downstairs for breakfast. He wasn't going to be late on his first day. He grabbed a pack of poptarts and, after saying goodbye to his mother, he slung his bookbag onto his shoulders and exited his house. Today he was taking the bus to school; with the ways his grades had been his parents weren't letting him drive until he pulled them up so he had to do what he had to do.
