  • "I think I get it. It's almost always the same. Chemical bombardment, experiments gone wrong, something of that nature, and you have zombies or some extraordinary outside force that seeks to destroy humanity. Gets stale. There are a few that break the norm of the dystopian genre, though. The Nightworld, a game that came out on IOS a while back, had total anarchy, starvation, and gang warfare in a world where the sun had been blocked out. Not entirely realistic, no, but it was an interesting concept."

  • [Font=georgia]"Oh yeah? Sounds interesting." The ice-type said, blinking. She looked past Jay, to the windows outside. It must've been late, for most of the celebration had ended. It was also storming furiously, wicked blasts of icy snow whipping past the window. It was, in every way, tempting.
Gaze switching back to Jay, Mei adjusted her hat once more. "You think we should head back? It seems pretty late."

  • [Font=georgia]Mei shook her head. "I was just reading a bit of each to see what I should read next." She dipped her head slightly, shame glowing her gaze for a moment. "I also didn't bring any money."

  • They find silver claw and kat picks him up, Demarcus sighs shaking his head "I do not know what I am going to do with you" he chuckles as the cat nuzzles his hand when he pets the top of his head. He then grabs the kitten from her and heads to his door room, Katheryn chuckles watching the two before sighing, she flies on top of the roof and sits down at the edge staring out to the distance

  • [Font=georgia]Mei looked up at Jay, beaming. "You will?" She reached for another book at the top of stack, holding the two in her hands. Despite it not being her style to just leave the rest there, she'd probably put them in the wrong spot, anyways. This was less work for her and the store owners.

  • [Font=georgia]Mei gave a small nod, rising from her seat and to the dainty old lady behind the register. The owner looked them down with skeptical eyes, whether she was judging Mei by her short, blue hair, Jay by his soaking clothes, or both of them for leaving a stack of disorganized books behind. But, nevertheless, the ice-type placed the two books between them, meeting the old woman's gaze with a hesitant smile.

  • Jay narrowed his eyes at the shop owner, then quickly paid for Mei's books. "Let's get outta here before we get more than just strange looks." Jay whispered to Mei.

  • [font=georgia]Mei took the books carefully, turning towards the door with calmed hastiness. She didn't really feel like the lady had any idea what they were, but she wasn't going to stick around to find out, either.
Opening the door to a blast of cold and snow, the ice-type held onto her hat as she ventured outside, holding her books close.

  • [Font=georgia]Mei nodded, "Right." The storm must've looked worse from inside, for the wind, though strong, was practically a breeze. Either way, she took the cautious liberty of holding onto her hat. Just in case.
"Thank you for buying these for me." The fifteen year-old said, when the wind calmed for a moment. "I really appreciate it."
