  • Jay rolled over and stared up at the ceiling blankly and sighed. He felt worthless. "Maybe if we'd not have met, this all could've been avoided... I'm just a burden, huh...?"

  • Mei didn't sit up alongside him, rather just burying the majority of her face in the pillow. Not wanting to answer his statement, she said instead, "Everything we ever promised each other... was a lie. We failed."

  • Jay got out of bed and paced around the room. "You didn't answer. You don't honestly think I'd do anything if you said yes, do you? Does it look like I have the strength to do anything against myself anymore? Even if I wanted to?" He said, sighing, "Never mind... Forget it..." He finished, sitting down against the wall.

  • Mei faced him, now sitting up. She flung her feet over the edge of the bed, not knowing where to pin this growing anger at; herself or Jay. After all, this was the most they had talked to each other in days.
After a long, long moment of silence, Mei finally replied in a low mutter, "I don't think we should be together anymore."

Don't worry! I'm hoping we can somehow loop around back into the honeymoon stage or something. XD but this' ll definitely make things more exciting.

  • OOC: great... Seems Jay's as big a moron as I am...

IC:Jay simply sat there, sobbing silently. "Dammit... Somebody shoot me now..."

  • Hey, don't take it personally. :( We're just writing a story, right?

Mei watched him, silent as a pang stung her throat. Clenching her jaw, she looked away, unable to look at Jay in the eye. "I should probably go." With that, she rose to her feet, tread silent as she grabbed her black uniform and weapondry, using a free hand to open the door. "Goodbye, Jay."
    It slammed shut.

  • OOC: yeah, I know. Just seems like I'd be the one to screw up the best thing that'd ever happened to me like that.

IC: Suddenly, a blurry, blue humanoid form seemed to kneel down in front of Jay, and wrap it's arms around him, but he didn't take any notice. Then it disappeared from his side, and appeared to Mei. "Please, don't do this to him... He's hurting so much... In his own mind he's already apologized a million times over..." The figure said. "I know you don't understand exactly what's going on... But I know him very well... He didn't mean anything of what he said. He was under so much stress that he just... Collapsed... It hurts me to see him like this, and I know that you feel the same." And with that, the figure disappeared.

  • Psh, nah man, you'll never be in circumstances like these. XD

Normally, Mei would've reacted defensively against a spirit, but something about this one... The ice blue that was too much like Jay's eyes, that kept her from moving away. She listened, and before she could reply, the form was gone. "I don't have the ability to fix this." Her voice was quiet as she murmured in the dark, "Besides, I'm leaving all of this behind soon."

  • OOC: not these circumstances, no. But similar ones? Who's to say it couldn't happen? Never mind, I shouldn't have brought up personal issues, I'll uh... I'll just shut up now.

IC: Jay continued to cry softly, and the figure reappeared by his side, holding him close, but Jay only felt a slight warm touch around his shoulders.

  • Yeah, I understand. And no, you're fine. :)

Mei padded outside, pace quickening. In the dark, she threw on her black uniform once more, reloading her pistol and putting a bullet in the chamber before tucking it in its holster. She numbed herself from the pain of it all, face expressionless as she left the quarantine prison and entered the city.

Familiar scents of beer and sweat welcomed her inside the bar, and she sat down slowly. The weapons on her belt kept most away, her status blatantly shown by her appearance. The bartender cleared his throat.
"Reisling. I don't care what kind." A small glass was placed before her in moments.

  • Mei awoke the next morning, eyes dull as she stared at the ceiling. Today was the day. From this point on, she no longer belonged to anyone. She'd leave, disappear alongside the mess she created. Sighing inwardly, she sat up, pulling out a knife.

  • Have Jay do what he usually does on a daily basis. Have him look for Mei, his reaction of what had happened, or he snaps?

Blood splattered the hotel's worn carpet. Mei cried out, the end of the blade in her arm as she twisted it. Eyes clenched shut, she keeled over, until a medium chunk of flesh and blood fell to the ground, a gleaming black piece of metal within it. A tracker. Gasping, she tore at the bed sheets, wrapping them around the gaping hole in her arm, and using a thinner piece to tie a tourniquet above it. Without pausing in her work, she proceeded to look in the mirror, grabbed her right ear. The sharp end of the blade dug into her ear, which made her nearly scream. The pain was intolerable, blood spraying out from the thin line she carved. Grabbing the ring she pulled it off her ear, throwing on the ground.
    "Goddammit!"

  • The knife clattered to the floor. Mei gripped her ear, holding a wad of cloth around it. Once those trackers realized the temperature change, everyone would be on her in minutes. She had to go, now.
Running in the bathroom and doing her best to cleanup, she put a large sweater on to hide the bandaging and threw on her hat. Throwing on a pair of skinny jeans, she pulled a pair of boots on. Then, she was gone
