Can Mapleleaf find her true love?

    Goldenpaw was taken aback. She was hurt on the inside. Mapleleaf was the only kin she had left. Rage filled her eyes. She didn't even know why Mapleleaf liked Ravenscar. He was always mad and always pouting. Goldenpaw followed Mapleleaf to see what would happen.

    Ic: watching Ravenscar run into the VultureClan camp, Mapleleaf stopped and sadness filled her eyes. She then looked back and saw Goldenpaw. Mapleleaf then turned around and walked back to Goldenpaw, "I...I'm sorry Goldenpaw" she sighed. "Please come with me back to camp."

    "You don't understand" she yowled. "I have been all on my own since I was a tiny kit. I don't have any kin and I don't fit in anywhere. I came here so I could be closer to you because you are my only kin and you obviously don't want that. You're are so preoccupied with Ravenscar that you don't pay attention to anyone else. I know he wasn't really close to killing me but I was scared. Is Ravenscar going to kill me like he killed Thunderstrike, Silverstone and all the other cats? He is the real reason for all this killing. Vine Clan might not be very skilled in fighting but we are observant. We know things that you couldn't even contemplate. Like who killed Gingerfoot? That was Snakefoot from Vulture Clan. We know things that you don't!" Goldenpaw ran out of breath.

    Mapleleaf sighed, "I know that I'm disobeying the will of StarClan by loving Ravenscar, but I cannot control my heart, but I promise that I will try my very hardest to be there for you, whether it's just clearing fleas from your pelt, or a soothing purr to help you sleep." Mapleleaf wrapped her tail comfortingly around Goldenpaw, licking her head as a mother would do for her own kit.

    Goldenpaw felt soothed by Mapleleaf's affection. She looked into her eyes but then looked away. "You say that but what happens when your kits come I won't be but a second thought. I know you'll try but that is what Doveflight(her foster mom) said she kept her promise until she had her kits. After the kits it was like I didn't exist." Goldenpaw wanted to believe her with all her heart, but after being let down so many times it is hard to trust again.

    Mapleleaf stammered "y...you know that I'm expecting kits?" Her heart began to beat harder, but she took a deep breath and looked down at Goldenpaw with loving eyes, "it's true that I will be a bit busy once my kits are born, but I will still always see you as a daughter, and I will still be there for you" Mapleleaf smiled and nuzzled Goldenpaw.

    She shrugged "All of Vine Clan knows. I have one more question. How can you love a cat that has killed so many innocent and defenseless cats?" She looked into her eyes pleadingly wanting to know the answer.

    "Ravenscar is not responsible for those killings!" Talonstar padded out of camp. The evil leader snarled. His bloodied claws were unsheathed like always. "Get out out our territory if you know what's best for you, or you'll be next." He snarled fiercely. "Ravenscar!" Ravenscar ran up to him. "Escort these trespassers back to camp." He dipped his head. "Yes Talonstar." Talonstar nodded then looked at Mapleleaf and Goldenpaw. "May I have mercy on you at the next gathering." He whisked around and back to his den. Ravenscar glared at Goldenpaw but purred and smiled at Mapleleaf. "Let's go."

    "Alright" Mapleleaf purred back. She then looked at Goldenpaw, "It wasn't Ravenscar, it was his twin brother, Nightfang" Mapleleaf explained coldheartedly as she thought of the evil cat that had killed so many. "He and Ravenscar are two completely different cats, though Nightfang frames Ravenscar, and because Ravenscar is stronger in body and looks more fierce, everyone believes him" Mapleleaf's claws unsheathed. "But Nightfang is smarter in planning and has a way of explaining that makes him look and sound innocent." Mapleleaf sighed and then looked back down at Goldenpaw, "but Ravenscar is sweet and kind and protective" she smiled "though he is quick to judge cats, he wouldn't kill them unless he felt it were necessary to protect his friends, family, or clan."

    Ravenscar walked silently with his head down. "I'll never be free from my brothers image, nor cats who think it was me." He glared at Goldenpaw, then looked at Mapleleaf. "But I'm madly in love with you and I won't kill unless I have to." He rubbed against her softly.

    Goldenpaw trembled in fright. She thought what have I done. "I will be lucky if I don't die tonight" she whispered.

    "Shhh, it's ok, I won't let that happen" Mapleleaf assured her. She then fell into step with Ravenscar, twining her tail with his. Mapleleaf then whispered in Ravenscar's ear; "I'm expecting kits...your kits."

    He purred and laid his head on hers. "Maybe we should all three run away and start a clan." He suggested.

    When he heard her he purred and licked her. "That's amazing!" He yowled as quietly as he could.
