IC: Marth stepped out of the conversation while Holly spoke to the new kid, he'd eventually get his turn to talk to him, he seemed really cool and he was really happy to meet one of the guys coming on the trip. Marth was starting to feel an inner instinct spark when he spoke to Holly, she reminded him of a cat one of his foster families had, it had been uptight and it would approach seemingly with good intentions and then swat you without warning. But he reasoned that he might be overreacting, yet he made a mental note to tread softly around Holly. However, he was curious about Cassie and she seemed so quiet, he felt rude cutting her out of the conversation. Alas, he shuffled over and tried to start conversation, she was Athena's child so he decided to try talking about books.

"So, Cassie, have you read any books as of late? I know its a bit of an awkward question, but its all I have." He said with a lame smile.

  • Cassie stared at Marth wondering why he was talking to her. No one really seemed to pay attention to her, and she didn't know how to handle it. "Uh, yeah, why?" She spoke quickly, trying not to sound rude, but still not understanding. She looked over Marth's shoulder, seeing if anyone else was coming. There wasn't anyone there, but they were still missing two people.

  • OOC: So, uh...what's going to be done with the Zeus charrie? ???

IC: " So how is it? I mean I like reading, but I can't find anything but manuals on killing monsters and putting together different weapons are all I can in the Ares cabin," he chuckled ", so I was wondering if you knew if there were other books available on the campus....Not that it matters now since we're leaving." He looked behind himself quickly, not getting why she kept glancing over his shoulder. " Am I in your way?" he asked.

  • Oscar looked over at the pretty girl. He's been at camp for a while and has gotten at least a good idea of what most people's names were. "Hey, um... Holly, right? I'm single at the moment, and I've had a few girlfriends and boyfriends," He said, in the back of his mind wondering what cool stuff these people had. Normally he'd be pretty nervous right now with all these people, but he had just stolen something and was talking with someone who seemed like a nice person, so he was at ease right now.

  • OOC:

IC: Marth could almost see the interest in Holly's eyes as Oscar replied about his relationships and Marth had to admit, he'd never met a person who was bi, he was curious. However, he did his best to stay focused on his conversation with Cassie, but he felt a bit insecure about it all. He felt Holly's eyes look at him and Cassie, he had to admit he felt a bit judged. To be honest, he felt obligated to talk about his relationships, even though he hadn't volunteered, was this an Aphrodite thing? He felt it was starting to get a bit annoying...but he didn't want to cross out Holly in his book yet. He tossed his comment over his shoulder.

' I've only had two girlfriends...and I've..uh...admittedly never thought of a boyfriend...' He trailed off, his heart racing in his chest, he wasn't good with relationships. Thus, he tried to resume the conversation, hoping she didn't feel slighted over his quick slip.
' So um, Cassie, do you know the other kid who's coming? '

  • Cassie stared at Marth blankly for a minute before answering, taking her eyes off of the distant trees and bushes. "No, there's nothing good anywhere unless you know where to look. Which of course I do.But it's not a campus. It's camp." Cassie spoke slowly to make sure that he heard her clearly. "And you're not in my way or anything. I'm just waiting for the last people to come."

When Marth turned away from her, she wasn't very surprised. She looked over to see what had caught his attention and noticed Oscar and Holly's conversation. When Marth replied, she rolled her eyes. Why would he even say that? Then he turned back to her and asked her if she knew the other person coming. "No," she answered simply.

OOC: I'm trying to find someone to play the Zeus charrie. Hopefully someone will soon.

  • OOC: Alright ;)

IC: "Your a woman of few words," he said with a laugh, ", thanks for correcting me, but am I annoying you?" he said with another chuckle, although he was really hoping not. He felt the cold emanating from her answer, but to the hell with it, maybe a joke would help her relax.
. "So...Cassie, why can't a bicycle stand on its own?" he snorted with a slight smile. In his mind he thought that this would definetly earn him a kick to the face. He wasn't trying to insult her intelligence, he just hoped she would relax, which made him quite the hypocrite since he'd only just calmed down. He even thought about trashing the joke, since she might get mad, but he didn't know what else to do.

  • Cassie looked at him dully, trying to analyze him and figure out why the Gods he would ask her such a stupid question. She didn't understand people like that and she wasn't going to play along. She frowned at him. "Yes, you're starting to." She said, before turning away. Cassie used to be able to bite her tongue, but she didn't see the point of it anymore. Why couldn't people just hear the truth? If we didn't have the truth, then we would have nothing.

  • OOC: I know this is dumb to ask, but no hard feelings right? :D

IC: Marth suddenly realized he wouldn't make friends this way and walked forward, tired of being ignored and definitely tired of being given the cold shoulder, " Look Cassie, I have a feeling that maybe just maybe," he said sarcastically, " that you don't like me, and if that's the case fine, but keep in mind I'm still going to be on this quest and if you could act like I'm older than 5, that would be nice, and yeah, yeah, I get it, maybe I'm immature, but all you need to do is ask for me to be serious. I'm trying by best to be someone that people expect me to be, and you know what, why am I even-" He cut himself off, angry that this girl had been capable of irking him within the few seconds they met, and angry that he'd flown off the handle and lost control. He imagined her gloating over the fact that she'd managed to get him mad, but what did he care? Thus, he stalked off ignoring any comments Cassie made and moved to the outer reaches of the courtyard to wait in the shadows of an old oak tree as the sun's last dying rays drew the tree's shadows thin and long. So, Marth sat, brooding, he especially decided that he was going to stay silent throughout the quest and only answer if he had to, maybe that would please her! And if it didn't then 'To Hades with it all.' he thought.

  • Raven suddenly ran up, messenger bag stuff with various stuffed animals, provisions, only a few pairs of extra clothing, and various other items that she felt she needed. She had a separate bag inside of that one full of tools, and both were packed so well that she still had a ton of room in each. "I'm not late to the gathering, am I?" She asked as she made it to the steps of the big house. She noted the other people that she had yet to meet, though she wasn't about to introduce herself first. Old habits, she supposed.

  • OOC:

IC:Marth looked up from where he was brooding in the corner at the girl he had previously met, Raven. He simply nodded, not feeling in any good mood to be able to be polite, he kept to himself.

  • She looked at him, confused slightly, but brushed it off, glad she wasn't late for anything. She took a seat on the railing, off to the most unoccupied corner, and swung her legs, amusing herself while she waited.

  • Holly quirked an eyebrow, surprised that this person new her name. She briefly scrambled for some memory of this person in her mind, seeking out their name. But she was certain she had never encountered this person until today. The girl quickly turned her attention to the rest of what the boy had said, a rather coy smile appearing."Well aren't you a Casanova, " she taunted. Holly tilted her head in Marth's direction as he spoke. She triumphantly added the newfound pieces of information, in a mental file. Admittedly a small part of her Pitied the fact that neither people had much success with their relationships. Witnessing the little outbreak between Cassie and Marth, she bit the inside of her cheek. She had half the mind to waltz closer and ask what she had missed out, curious as to how things went downhill so quickly. But Holly didn't; she still had a question that needed to be answered by the boy in front of her, and that was more important.

"Anyway," Her gaze was focused on Oscar now."what's your name? 'Cause I have no recollection of you at all." She gestured towards the new girl, spotting her by the corner, voice dropping into a whisper as she conspiratorially leaned closer."Also, who's she?" Holly asked. Though she was pretty certain she already knew who the girl was, she wanted to make sure was correct, not wanting to make a fool of herself.

  • OOC: Nope! No hard feeling! :) They're are characters, not us. I actually quite enjoyed that.

And let's just pretend that the Zeus charrie is here right now. No one rp him, but you can mention 'the Zeus kid' in your posts until we have someone.

IC: Cassie recoiled as Marth raised his voice and drew nearer. She wasn't glad that she had gotten him to yell at her and he did have a point. He was going to be there the whole time-unless he died, then he wouldn't be-but otherwise he would always be there. She was going to have to be nice to him at some point. She could see the odds of him responding back were dropping rapidly on her until her window of opportunity would close. As she watched him turn and walk away from her, obviously angry, she felt a stabbing pain in her heart. And she knew what it was; it was the signature of a wrongdoing, the stab of guilt.

"Well aren't you a Casanova," Holly said from next to her. Cassie turned her head to look at her and glared harshly. She couldn't tell if that was directed at her or not, so she just acted like it was. Scoffing at her loudly, she walked the opposite way that Marth had. At that point, everyone was there and Chiron walked out, seeing them off.

"Are you all ready to go?" He asked everyone. Cassie nodded in answer, knowing that if she spoke, her voice would betray that she was mad. She looked back, avoiding Marth, to see their responses.

  • OOC: The funny thing is that wasn't directed at her, so she's just scoffing and Oscar's all "rude, I can be a Casanova..."

IC: "Rude... I can be a Casanova," he said. "Although being bi doesn't really make me that, but I appreciate the compliment, Holly."

  • OOC:

IC: Marth nodded to Chiron and stood up using his bronze staff, brushing off some dirt. He had little to say, on one part his heart was heavy with guilt over yelling, you see Marth hated being mean or violent, something awfully shameful for a child of Ares. However, on the other hand, he felt that that would have been the only way he would've gotten his point across. He decided to finally ignore how he felt, if his feelings got in the way and someone got hurt, he knew he'd never forgive himself.
'How am I even a child of Ares if I can't even....' he trailed of in his mind, groaning.
With that Marth moved forward, following the group and keeping a watchful eye out for anything, he knew that six demigods would put out a powerful stench especially when one was Zeus' kid. They'd be battling monsters every step of the way.....Just, hopefully not bunnies....never bunnies, he couldn't stand those beady eyes or menacing incisors. They were terrifying. Period.

[i]Open here I flung the shutter, when, with many a flirt and flutter,
In there stepped a stately raven of the saintly days of yore.
    Not the least obeisance made he; not a minute stopped or stayed he;
But, with mien of lord or lady, perched above my chamber door -
Perched upon a bust of Pallas just above my chamber door -
Perched, and sat, and nothing more.

  • "No problem, sweetie," Holly hummed, a little glad Oscar had taken no offense to her comment. It was nice to know someone could take a joke. She glanced at Cassie, doing a double-take when she noticed the rather acid glare she was receiving. Admittedly she flinched a little, but immediately scowled back. She hadn't even done anything, so why was Cassie angry at her? Maybe that was her thing, being a constant party-pooper. She seriously began to doubt she'd be able to survive in this group if things continued as it was. Probably die from all the tension. Thankfully, before Holly over-analysed things, Chiron appeared. The child of Aphrodite nodded to his question, fidgeting with the straps of her bag."Ready as I ever could be," she mumbled, crossing her arms in front of her chest rather moodily.

IC: As Chiron looked at Marth, he just nodded his affirmative. However, whenever he glanced at Cassie, he felt a twinge of guilt and pain, he cursed at himself for his inability to control what he did. He made up his mind to apologize as soon as possible, call him bipolar if you will, he just felt bad. In his anxiety and worry he twirled the staff, almost knocking off Oscar's head. He immediately began to apologize, he didn't need more soured relationships on this Quest, he already had one.
" I-I'm so sorry!" he managed to stutter out, moving his staff onto his back and tried to see if he actually accidentally hit Oscar over the head "Are you ok?"

  • Cassie watched everyone in the group. Chiron was going through the checklist before he handed off a copy of the Prophecy to Cassie as well as a map. "Don't lose it," he said, before he dismissed them to leave, giving them exactly three months to complete the quest and be back at Camp starting today, the seventh. With that, he walked away from them and back into the Big House. Cassie looked back, making eye contact with Raven and then Oscar, not looking at the others. "Do either of you want to take charge?"
