IC: He smiled and decided to go big or go home,
'Hey, the names', Marth, and if I could be so bold as to ask your name?'
He asked with a mock bow, hoping she'd laugh at his antics, this was how he made friends and distracted himself from the harsher things he dealt with, however, now he pushed down such dark thoughts.

  • OOC:

    IC: He nodded back
" Oh well, I guess I can be quite bold, and what about you? I've never talked much to the Hephaestus cabin kids, in reality I haven't spoken to anyone much..."
He trailed off and he waited, hoping his awkward inability to complete with social norms was affecting her.

  • Cassie reached the Big House just as Chiron reached the steps. "Chiron! Why didn't you explain anything about the quest? What is this really about, and why did you pick a bunch of random kids within the camp?" Cassie was raising her voice, but she didn't really care if others heard her.

"The quest was meant for you, that's why you were all chosen. And you always want to go on a quest, so why is this an issue?"

"Because you didn't tell me anything about it! I don't know where were going or what the prophecy is or anything!" She was using wild hand gestures as she followed Chiron inside. He was perfectly calm as he answered.

"The prophecy is this: The Fall of Four will come,
    the bones of three undone.
    And when the curtain falls,
    the one of beauty calls
to the fire of the flames.

The three that disagree must pay the price,
Though one will concede at the hands of fate.
Athena will rise up wise and true,
But Ares will conquer all that is few.
Beware, oh Wise One, for the length of the past,
Will creep up on you with a whip and a lash.
Your fatal flaw may be the issue,
But your greatest distraction will be your end.

One will take the lead, on this changing quest,
    But only he will succeed
    By the hands of another.
The gods are warring and six will be tested,
Their wills stripped bear for all to see.
But beware! Their greatest assessment may be their greatest downfall.
    Hope leads to desire.
As for everything else, you're smart, so you should be able to figure it out."He started to straighten up the Big House.

"Ugh! Why do you always have to pull that card, Chiron! You know I hate it!" She scoffed at him and eyed the chair next to her like she was going to sit. She didn't sit. "And you had to put an Aphrodite kid in! All they do is talk about themselves!"

"Cassie, calm down. I don't know what you're so mad about. You'll be fine. You leave at sundown so I suggest that you start to pack." He looked at her and then gave her a small smile. "You'll be fine, Cassidy."

Cassie sighed and walked out and back to her cabin, not noticing Marth, who had followed her. When she reached her cabin, she grabbed her black backpack and started to pack her few belongings into it.

  • OOC:

IC: Marth gave Raven a look of shock that someone would talk to Chiron like that, and when he heard the prophecy his heart rate quickened, he was especially worried about about the one part talking about his father. He quickly bid goodbye to Raven, hoping to see her later and packed the essentials, he stuffed a few drachmas into his pocket, and he picked up his staff, it was a bit taller than him and made of celestial bronze, with that he made out, asking if anyone knew Cassidy, he was directed to the Athena cabin where he waited outside to speak with her and introduce himself. However, he was already thoroughly intimidated by this girl, and talking with her seemed a bit unpleasurable, although, he rationalized, maybe she has good reason to be angry, he just hoped that anger wouldn't be directed at him.

  • She waved bye to Marth disturbed by the line about fire. And her will stripped bear, for everyone to see. That didn't seem good, and the color visibly drained from her face as she made her way back to her cabin. She packed only the necessitys, strapping her twin daggers around her waist, and tucked her various bladed weapons in their usual places, before making sure she had various tools just incase she needed to do anything in a messenger bag, that most people would've thought to be endless. It's not, she's just learned how to fit various things in there certain ways to maximize room. Once she was done, she walked out of the cabin, having hid all of her creations, and sat on the roof, watching everything from above.

  • OOC:

IC: Marth squirmed, visibly uncomfortable yet again as he awaited Cassidy outside the cabin, hoping she'd come out soon, the gaze of some of the Athena kids made him feel like he was prey that they were calculating on how to take down. He looked down to avoid eye contact and scuffed the ground with his shoe.

  • OOC: Sorry I was gone. I had some homework leftover.

IC: Cassie angrily stuffed some extra clothes in her bag before she grabbed her throwing knives and favorite book and packed them as well. As she continued, she started to calm down until she was finally back to normal, and she neatened the pack up. She also packed a few bags of trail mix because she didn't think they would have a lot of food and she was obsessed with it, and she also packed half of the drachmas that she had been saving up for the duration there. After, she slipped in a map and zipped it shut. Then she walked out the door to her cabin, only to stop short because Marth was outside waiting.

  • OOC:

IC: Marth waved, hoping a disarming smile would keep the girl from tearing him limb from limb, but she seemed way more in control which set him to a more relaxed state, he introduced himself-
. "Hi, I'm Marth, looks like I'll be taking up arms with you, if you need something I could help if you need anything."
He extended his hand and hoped for the best.

OOC: yeah no prob, I know the feel ;D

    IC:

  • Raven hummed quietly on the roof, before noticing the girl she had talked to earlier. The girl had a small pouch in her hands, and was looking around frantically. She climbed down and walked up to the little girl, who's eyes brightened at the sight of her. "Hey, Sparrow. What'cha got there?" She asked. The girl quickly jogged up and gave her a fairly decent sized pouch of Drachma's. "Take these. I found them, and thought you would need them more than I would." She explained, and Raven smiled. "Thanks little one. I owe ya'." She said, ruffling her hair. The little girl smiled, and ran back into the cabin. Raven sighed and began walking to the gate. No more time to diddle daddle. It was time to get down to business.

  • Cassie looked at him and looked down at his extended hand and then back up at him. She shouldered her pack again, but didn't move to extend her hand. "Yeah, I guess you will." She tried to look for something to comment on and make conversation, finding only the missing bag. "You should hurry up and pack. When he says we leave tonight, he means before the campfire." She waited, paused, looked at him once more, and then walked the opposite way towards the training and dining pavilion. Wow, could that have been more awkward?! She kept her head down and her shoulders hunched, looking at the floor as she walked.

    OOC: Night! :)

  • Ooc; Night

Raven noticed Cassie, and smiled, though it was halfhearted, and her direction changed and she headed for the forest just to rest for a bit.

OOC: Alright, I have to go too, so night!

IC: Cassie didn't notice Raven there and kept walking until she reached the pavilion. There, she sat down at her table and waited for dinner to come so she could put some of her food into her pack. Dinner wouldn't be for a little while yet though, so she pulled out one of her books and started to read.

[i]Open here I flung the shutter, when, with many a flirt and flutter,
In there stepped a stately raven of the saintly days of yore.
    Not the least obeisance made he; not a minute stopped or stayed he;
But, with mien of lord or lady, perched above my chamber door -
Perched upon a bust of Pallas just above my chamber door -
Perched, and sat, and nothing more.

  • Ooc~ Gosh, I'm in a different timezone to all of you's aren't I? Sorry, just returned from school~

The mention of Holly's name evoked a large cheer from the other Aphrodite children. The girl in question even released a high-pitched squeal, clapping her hands together. Holly had returned to the cabin surrounded by her siblings like the center of a perfume-scented tornado. At one point she had been pulled into a bear hug, which quickly turned into a rather suffocating group hug. Some had even managed to let out a few tears, sniffling and daintily wiping their face as they sent her a heartfelt goodbye. While another group sent her playful punches to the shoulder, saying how lucky Holly was and expressing how jealous they were of her. The girl couldn't tell if they were all doing it for the theatrics or actually meant it. She chose to believe the latter; it wasn't everyday an Aphrodite child got chosen for a quest, so it made sense to get a little over dramatic.

Thankfully, once everyone had spoken their piece, they gave Holly a little space and left her in solitude to gather her items for the quest. Now alone to simmer in her thoughts, nervousness threatened to overcome her but she was determined to leave the camp bold and proud- not as a sniveling ball of despair. She had to leave a good impression after all. Holly figured it was best to pack only the essentials, though , after she had done that, she couldn't resist to bring along a hand mirror. She slipped on a few hairties onto her wrist for later use as well. Crouching to grope beneath her bed, she dragged out her sword-belt, the weapon itself tucked in its sheathe. Holly couldn't help but feel like a little child dressing up as a bandit as she put on the belt. In fact, inspired by that thought, she, after digging through her belongings for it, loosely tied a blue bandana around her neck. Hefting her backpack up, she trotted outside, where a few of her siblings still remained. They kept her company as she walked to the pavilion, might as well wait somewhere with decent seats right?

  • Ooc: I think so. It's midnight where I'm at.

Raven stopped by various places, packing provisions. She wasn't thinking straight at the moment, and she probably wouldn't until they left camp. Once she was sure she had everything, she went to the forest, got a decent ways in, and practiced with her fire, using it as a distraction for herself, creating mesmerizing swirls and periodic shapes.

  • OOC: Super uber duper sorry! Recap?

  • OOC: Chiron has just issued the quest and the campers designated to go(us) we leave at sundown and most characters are just getting ready.

IC: Marth walked beside the lake a little befuddled and not to say, a bit hurt at the cold shoulder he received, he assumed that behavior was normal for Athena's offspring. But, he was hoping to get to know people better, he was trying to be more social and outgoing. He found that people were less likely to toss you out if you smiled, rather than brooding and refusing to interact. He sat down at the lakeside and slumped a bit, watching the sun high in the sky.
To be honest, he was anxious to leave, and he should be training, that's what any Ares camper would do, right? But then again, he was an oddball in that cabin. He sighed and looked out on the lake, lost in thought.

  • OOC: It's alright if you're in a different timezone.

IC: Cassie sat in the dining pavilion overthinking about her life here at Camp HalfBlood. She couldn't focus on her book with all of the words in the prophecy and the imminent events that were bound to happen. What was she supposed to do about it though? There was even a section that mentioned Athena, which had to be her as there was no other Athena demigod going. What was it that it said? Athena will rise up wise and true,
But Ares will conquer all that is few.
Great! So that kid Marth is going to best me! Just great!

  • OOC:

    IC: Marth was nervous.
It wasn't a lie, his mind was in a terrible state of fear, this quest was a bit much and it was unexpected, and especially overwhelming. Finally, he gave up and began to do the only thing he could actually do correctly, Combat practice. He was a child of Ares, what else could he expect beyond the ability to fight well? He didn't really know, but he hoped it was something beyond just that. So, as no one seemed to be watching, he began to softly sing while flowing through the motions he was most recently taught.
