Briar nodded before sitting down and pulling out her bow to see if it was still there. "Thank goodness I didn't lose it."

Blue headed outside and did a quick survey of the area and then went back inside. "Okay, we're good. "There's a bathroom to the left there if you nee it. Hot water and all."
-
At that, Briar breathed in relief and smiled up at him, the only emotion she had shown him other than shyness, since they met. " That's a relief. I'm glad there is finally some running water. I really need to wash off this walker blood." She frowned slightly and crinkled her nose, "It's really gross."
-
"I agree. I have some spare clothes in the dresser in there if you need some," he did, glancing down at his bow. It was about time to clean it again,
-
"Thanks, but I have some." Briar smiled before grabbing her duffle bag and headed into the bathroom.
-
At the sound of a few groans, Charlie drew her knife. She watched as 2 walkers, a couple of meters away from her walked around aimlessly. She ran up to one of them and with a small grunt she stabbed it in the head repeatedly until it dropped. She pulled her knife out and did the same to the other.
Wiping the blood off on the bottom of her jeans, she turned towards a building and saw about 10 walkers who were watching her.
Eyes wide, Charlie turned and ran, knowing they were following. She turned a few corners, trying to get as far away as possible. -
"You're welcome. It's great to finally have some company," he said.
-
Briar stopped dead in her tracks and looked back at him with a sad look, "Ya...." She murmured before turning and shut the door, blinking back the forming tears. Clearing her throat, she called back, "I'll be out shortly." Then the water started.
-
Blue flopped on the bed, thinking about the sad look on her face. He had made the same one many times before. He jumped up and walked to the kitchen, grabbing a drink from the fridge and sitting back down,
-
A few minutes later, the water shut off and Briar walked out in jeans that she had torn slightly at the bottom and a camouflage t-shirt with a black jacket on. Her hair was still in a towel and she sat beside him on the edge of the bed. "I-if you don't mind my asking.... what's your story?" She asked, her voice soft.
-
"I came from a poor family, lived with my Grammy after my parents died in a car crash when I was 13. I headed out of the city and came here when this crap started... You?" He asked.
-
Briar took a deep breath, "I came from a family who only cared about my older brother and I would get in trouble with my parents just for being close to my aunt who never really cared for my brother. This whole thing actually started on my way home from school and my brother decided to try to beat walkers without a weapon. .... and....." She stopped as she fell completely silent, hugging herself as she began shuddering, trying to shake the memory out of her head.
-
Blue couldn't help it. He wrapped his arms around her comfortingly. "Hey, it's okay. I know what it feels like," he said, his icy gaze meeting hers as he leaned closer and whispered in her ear, "You can trust me."
-
Briar, at first, tensed, but soon relaxed and returned the hug, a slight blush on her face. "Thanks. And, you can trust me too." She said, then placed her head on his shoulder, yawning lightly. It had been ages since the last time she slept, and his arms were really gentle and comfortable.
-
"Come on, let's go to sleep," he said, standing up and pulling back the comforter. "Here, I'll let you have the bed. You need it more anyways."
-
Briar gave a tired smile, "Thanks....." She yawned as she laid down and covered herself with the comforter.
-
Blue walked over to the couch and flopped down, adjusting his pillow. He tugged at the blanket, finally just giving up and laying there, staring at the cieling.
-
Briar yawned and fell into a deep sleep.
-
Blue couldn't sleep at all, so he made himself a cup of hot cocoa and sat by the window, staring out into the water. "Had to be the nice person, and this us what I get."
-
Briar shook slightly in her sleep, then suddenly shot up, breathing hard. "Well, sleep is no longer an option. ..." She frowned
